From a cinematic perspective, "oh my god" and "tomboy" are also incredible. I love that they still do the majority of the effects in camera and that they have so much creative control of their work

Everything they do have concepts and story. SOYEON (rapper, intro/outro) is their leader who also write and produce most their songs, including this one. You can check her concept meetings where she explains the story to them, designing every single detail, from stage, set, hairstyles, nail arts, etc. A bit of advise, when you check out their songs, turn on the captions to get immersed into the meaning. Speaking of hairstyles, SHUHUA (green dress) have never fully dyed her hair (and only have it highlighted once for an MV). They talked to her regarding the hair color and how will it affect this concept, but they never forced her to do it. They explained that they even have a Plan B if SHUHUA didn't want to dye her hair. YES, a whole new concept and prolly album if 1 member doesn't want to do it. In the end, she fully dyed her hair and the members, especially MINNIE (pink dress) cried when she learned of this news.

definitely use captions. there is a LOT more to this song than meets the eye....little pun there....

It's also nice that the video dirеctor of nxde is female (the same who made tomboy mv), and their stylists for these eras are females and their choreographers and dancers are all females. I love how they bring "women support women" in life!

Also, Banksy's shredder malfunctioned and stopped halfway through the shredding, and so did this one in the video. You have a very keen eye, especially catching Yuqi walking past herself being made-up. It's one of the best parts of the video and you're the first reactor I've seen who's caught that. Definitely love your channel! Please do more (G)I-DLE reactions, we'd love to see your observations, as (G)I-DLE's m/v's are extremely detailed, and you're so good at spotting and interpreting! Thank you so much for this reaction!

Thisv indeed masterpiece, the lyrics even more amazing, it's about nude as in being themselves even if they got hated and also how ppl expected rated R or sensual side from female artist to be exist but they wont do that.

Thanks for checking I-DLE out and getting most of what what they wanted to say. Amazing! Soyeon (and the MV director with whom she had a lot of discussions and meetings about the concept) must be so happy that her message is reaching people with just her (self-produced) music and the MV visuals! But yes, do read the lyrics (written by Soyeon) to get the complete meaning. You are right about I-DLE and feminist concepts also. I-DLE are a rarity in Kpop especially among girl groups in that they have a lot of control on what they'd like to do for their albums and that they do it themselves, and not rely on the mostly male creatives and producers in the Kpop industry for giving them concepts and songs. And more people from around the world should know about them, and that will hopefully keep happening thorough people like you spreading the word. Thanks, and do checkout the recommendations for other I-DLE MVs others have mentioned + Hwaa, for which I didn't see any mention so far.

not feminism, IDLE are against "Prejudice", They've spoken about breaking all prejudices in the industry. they're breaking the prejudices; "Don't confine me to a box, because I'll walk outside of it"- Jeon Soyeon

as much as my music taste is VERY eclectic (as proven by the most recent spotify wrapped), one thing that kpop does right 99% of the time is music videos. they are doing it better than most other countries. with some exceptions of course. but they do it so well that i have an entire playlist dedicated just to my favorite kpop music videos. i'll list my favorites below starting with more (G)-IDLE content for you (the songs may not be my favorites but the visuals are. i tried to exclude ones that i liked just cause of awesome dances) Lion, Oh My God and Tomboy - all by (G)-IDLE God's Menu, Maniac, Back Door and Thunderous by Stray Kids 대취타 by Agust D (대취타 is spelled Daechwita and pronounced D-eh-shi-t-ah) Blood Sweat & Tears, Black Swan, DNA, Singularity (Comeback Trailer), Shadow (Comeback Trailer) by BTS Wonderland, Say My Name and Guerrilla by ATEEZ GOTTASADAE by BewhY Maria by Hwa Sa BIBI Vengeance by BIBI Daisy by Pentagon (i especially love the blocking in this video compared to other k-pop videos. i think it's called blocking. but basically the order of the scenes. i won't spoil the rest but i'll be excited to see if you notice what i did) I'll stop there but this is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of kpop visuals tbh

Fyi, After LIKE concept is a stolen concept from (G)I-DLE concept, because Soyeon already stated they want to release a 50-60-ish song inspired by Marlyn Monroe with woman empowerment issue back in May. That's why we saw Marlyn concept and 'I will survive' sampling in After LIKE song. Fyi, I'll Survive is a song for black woman empowerment. Ryan S Juhn & Starship, you'll be dealt with.
