The usage of Jordan Davis is only going to increase. We haven’t even used Nakobe Dean yet. Also Chauncey Gardner Johnson just got here. James Bradberry is new as well. This defense is only going to get better each week. I believe the Cowboys offense will be really exposed this coming Sunday night. If Jonathan Gannon was a more aggressive DC oh man this defense would be insane. The amount of talent on the defensive side is just wild 😮

You can't expose an offense that is just bad. The cowboys only win that game if they can effectively limit the eagles offense, as they've done with all their opponents they've beat. Their offense is objectively terrible.

I also gotta say it’s been a real team effort. Having Slay AND Bradberry at outside corners. CJGJ/Maddox both have been good. I’ve really been happy with White and Edwards at LB especially in pass coverage. We got shredded at LB last year. Every single defensive unit got better.

My problem with their line is they seem to go extended periods of time without pressuring the qb at all during a game and it allows the opposing qb to get way too comfortable but so far hasn’t burned them but we’ll see how the rest of the season plays out

The scary thing about Jordan Davis is he’s only scratching the surface of his potential. He’s an ENORMOUS human being with the athleticism of a man 70 pounds lighter. By the athleticism numbers, he has the physical traits to be a 10 sack DT. What made him a great pick was he was high floor high ceiling. At absolute worst he was going to be a good run defender. But if he can get coached up as a pass rusher the kid really could be what Albert Haynesworth should have been.

The best? They are absolutely one of the best defensive lines in the league but in terms of sheer depth and consistency? There are other D-Lines that are better if you ask me. A lot of the Eagles dominance in terms of their stats this season for the DL is due to one game against the Commanders where they racked up a high number of hits and pressures and sacked Wentz 9 times. If you break down the statistics of the other games the DL has played in? The results aren't nearly as dominant in terms of pressures, hits or sacks. Sacks in particular are average at best ranging around 2-4 sacks a game. With some games having the vaunted Eagles DL sacking the QB once. The Cowboys for instance as well as the 49ers? Have more consistent week after week pass rush production. The Eagles have a better run defense than Dallas for instance. So that definitely comes into play when it comes to the rankings. But if you ask me? The Cowboys and the 49ers have a better pass rush despite the Eagles massive nine sack game against the Commanders.

Eagles fan here... that first play by Reddick with the pull - we probably don't see it more often because it's illegal, or at least borderline illegal. He's essentially tackling the O lineman, which is Defensive Holding. Of course, it's legal if the ref doesn't see it. 🙄

Detroit has a very good o line and if you notice they put up big numbers on Philly. There is also not man highlights on here from that Detroit game. Although they lost, Dallas’s offensive line dominated them. Do the film on that game. Cowboys lost because of Cooper Rush. Watching the film pissed me off just seeing him Rush through his passes. Ended up throwing tipped passes and interceptions. Didn’t get sacked at all and still managed to give the ball away. I cringed watching the film over. Cooper rush has no zip on his passes and I feel like he played nervous too. But every star on that defensive line got beat down by Dallas. Davis got handled, COX got handled, swear got handled. Reddick got thrown around by the right tackle all game. Do a break down of that game. Everyone will see how overrated that line is. From the beginning of that game to the end, Dallas won in the trenches. But Copper Rush gave the game away. Dak would have took advantage of those pockets he was given for sure.

They are good but I saw some poor running back play also. The AZ backs just don't seem to have any vision and missed several opportunities to get at a least 5 yards on a few plays. Don't get me wrong that D is looking dominant with their run fits using power and speed but I HOPE Zeke and Pollard will squeeze out a few more positive yards with better vision squeezing through some of those gaps I saw. I am really excited to see this game. In part because I don't believe the Eagles Offense is as good as they seem. It will also be a good test for our D to see if it's as good as we think also. Hurts just hasn't seen the kind of pressure we can being to bare and I foresee him throwing a pick or two.

You may look too deeply into PPG stats. Those stats are way wrong and don't tell you how good or bad a defense or offense actually is.. An example, the Patriots defense has scored 3 TDs this year, and the offense has had a few pick/fumble 6s. So technically, the defense has gotten points and the offense has given up points, which makes the defense looks worse and the offense look better.

Your title in caps states the BEST. The first statistics u use says 3rd and 5th....soooo not the best!? Every game is hard at this level so schedule is a minimal factor, and if your offense is putting up points forcing opposing offenses to pass more later in games the defense has a higher statistical chance of padding their stats too. With that said, the niners are listed 1st in so many categories, and dallas is ferocious. I'd have to put the Eagles at #3 at the highest. Still very respectable and capable of winning a SB. So maybe the title should be ONE OF THE BEST.
