Players are punished for fumbling, yet we have a center who can’t hike who continues to play. A receiver who dances in the end zone when he catches a touchdown, no connection other than it’s all about him. Tomlin just watches all of this unfold.

Kenny still needs to see the field well. There are multiple plays where he scrambled when he had a guy open. On the second drive for the Steelers, Najee is wide open but he chose to scramble for a few yards. If he gets the ball to Najee, he easily gets the first down, and the low snap/sack doesn't happen on the very next play. The same can be said for last week. If he throws a better ball to Dionte Johnson, the CB nevers gets a chance to strip it, and the fumble on the next play never happens. On the play where he got hurt, Calvin Austin motions as the ball gets snapped, and he is wide open, but again, he didn't even look there, and he scrambles and gets hurt. Yes, he is playing better than he was playing when Canada was the OC, but more is needed. He is leaving too many plays on the field. I truly hope the Steelers go into the 2024 to find a different Signal caller, even if it means the guy sits, but I am not a believer in Pickett. For a guy that played as much ball as he did in college, he is too inconsistent. Purdy was a 4 year starter, and he came in ready to ball. Meanwhile, Pickett has not thrown a TD pass since the Titan's game in week 9. That is bananas.

Thank you so much because I thought I was the only person who saw Harris wide open. You see other teams wide outs work back to the ball when the QB gets in trouble because the QB extends the play Pickett gives them no chance to. In the redzone, Pickett missed open receivers. He also scrambled into a sack. Then again when there was open receivers, he scrambled and got knocked out of the game. The Cardinals are terrible, so as he should have, Pickett made some really good throws. But in the redzone, first rd picks need to get done. Unfortunately, when they had an opportunity to score 7, the same old Kenny Pickett showed up.

Pickett isn't the problem. Is he great? No, but Ben wasn't great most of the time the years he won Super Bowls. Tomlin is just not as good with the basics as Bill Cowher was. Cowher only wom 1 super bowl, but he consistently built highly competitive teams that were contenders almost every year through the 90s and 2000s. The 2008 and most of the 2011 team were also Cowhers guys. Tomlin setting a standard of consistent mediocrity isn't something to be proud of. He's done irreparable damage to the mystique of the Steelers. The Steelers are now seen as crony 2nd rate organization that can't evolve. Tomlin doesn't recruit good coaches to run things. He probably doesn't want to be outshined. Steelers haven't had a top OC/DC or position coaches since the last time they went to the super bowl when Tomlin was still green.

@jesseleblanc1199 Ben was basically just a slightly better version of Pickett. He honestly has a better attitude than Ben. Ben was a jackass. Young Ben had a consistent run game to throw off of. The team was just way tougher than they are now. Every guy in Ben's Steelers had TJ Watt's Toughness and motor whether or not they were good and it made up for it. We had receivers willing to get knocked out by Ray Lewis just to make a catch over the middle. Pickens gets called tough, but he's just selfish and ghetto not actually a tough winner like Hines Ward. Our O line is soft as baby shit. They just look like big fat guys off the street got put on a field. Najee is big slow back and doesn't even run hard. While Bettis, Deuce, Parker, and even Mendenhall ran into every tackle like they wanted to send the LB to the emergency room. Our WRs are babies. Our coaches are idiots. Ben made more big plays, but he was also highly mistake prone and put the defense in bad positions that they bailed him out of. Pickett is just as clutch as Ben was when given a chance to be clutch. The team is just run so badly that the opportunities to be clutch are shadowed by horrible team organization. Ben had a way better team and way better coaches. Cowher emphasized Toughness over everything and drilled it into every player hardcore. Tomlin is all talk.
