Fucking staggeringly good talent at 24. He's the Devon Witherspoon i wanted but couldn't have. As far as speed goes, Branch fell because of his 40 and this MF teleports to the ball. Game speed is way different than straight line 40. Arnold's 3 cone was elite-elite and he'll have very few issues year 2/3.

Aaron Glenn wants secondary guys to blitz and tackle. They have to be ready for overloading the line of scrimmage if needed. They did a lot of work in the pre draft for many secondary prospects so this pick has been vested to the max.

The Lions needed an outside CB immediately and for the long term. Amik Robertson is a good, versatile CB3, but I don’t think the Lions were going to be comfortable relying on him to start all season. Also, I don’t see Carlton Davis being re-signed after this year. So yeah, the Lions need a CB1.
