What I always notice about Marshal's "accidents' is that usually, it's another one of the pups who left out something dangerous, and in his haste to respond, he trips on that. Marshal isn't a clutz. He's just the unlucky one who takes it for the team because the others can't pick up after themselves.

If you noticed, the pups didn't find Marshal's clumsiness and jokes funny in the first season. That changed when in the second season, they had the pups laugh with (more like at) Marshal. He did have his own episode where he took care of the lookout tower and solved the emergencies that day by himself, I guess as a way to make him look more competent.

Looking at the latest season, even though I’m not a huge fan of the new style, I’m so happy that Zuma is finally getting acknowledged! But I gotta vouch for my boy Marshall here. He’s doing his best. (and he’s my favourite.) There are several times in the show, especially in the early seasons that show a more vulnerable side of the dalmatian, revealing that he struggles with self confidence and self esteem. A few notable examples of this are when he shows extreme stage fright, believing that he is only good at causing problems, or initially refusing to participate in a game or event because he worries about screwing up. There is an entire episode that is probably one of the best episodes to date, and it’s all the way back in season 2. The episode basically reveals that Marshall sees himself as nothing but a burden, and temporarily left the Paw Patrol because he thought they would be better off without him. In earlier seasons, he sounded and looked embarrassed when saying his wipeout puns, as if trying to diffuse the situation, while in later seasons, he says his puns with much more confidence, probably realizing that he is accepted by his friends regardless of how much of a klutz he is. And despite his setbacks, they make it clear that he *always* tries his best, even if he doesn’t succeed. I know I’m rambling a lot here, but he’s literally just like me for real! If Spinmaster were to let me on board and cook, I would punching everyone in the gut with emotional episodes, Sesame Street and Bluey do it all the time, so they have no reason not to do the same!

It’s not about how many times they’re used, it’s about what they can actually do for the team. Like if someone’s about to fall or something, there’s Chase. Or if someone is stuck on a mountain and needs to be grabbed off, there’s Skye. Or if something needs to be fixed, there’s Rocky. Or if there’s a bunch of rocks covering a train, there’s Rubble. Or if there’s a fire all over tree, maybe even a house, there’s Marshall. And last of all, if there is someone stuck underwater and might even run out of oxygen, there’s Zuma. Just because some pups get used less, doesn’t mean they’re useless, the pups are all there for a reason. Like say the Paw Patrol didn’t have Marshall or Zuma, then who would put out the fires? Who would save someone from underwater? All I’m saying is that there is technically no worst pup, they are all actually best, they are all helpful in a way

less than 20seconds in and Mat has already blown my mind! I actually worked on Paw Patrol and I never managed to watch even half as much as he did. Incidentally I have been watching your channel since it was only Game Theory and it is incredible how far you have grown! Zuma was a studio fave for many of the asset team, it was always kinda sad how he never got much screen time. I specifically remember pointing out at an episode review that it was weird that Chase was doing the rescue instead of Zuma when the person in need of rescue was stuck on a sinking boat. I was told that Chase was more popular with the kids. Still many of the people working on the show had Zuma posters or toys at their workstations and he was much beloved.

Finally validation. I'm so glad this one came out, I was so looking forward to him covering a house Zuma's being boxed out of every mission. They started giving sea missions to Rocky even beford aqua puffs or Sea patrol is a thing, the problem with this is Rocky is deathly afraid of water. Tbh (as a person who adores Chase) I agree; I also think that Skye AND Marshall should've both had medical equipment in their pup packs not just Marshall as Air rescue are the secondary/first (depending on if anyone in the group knows first aid or not) aiders to an injured person. With the amount of people she saved who were injured but Marshall had to come and check their injuries, it just always bugged me that she wasn't taught first aid and didn't know first aid despite the fact she'd be a lot better fitted for her job if she did.

Marshall being clumsy is what makes him so amazing. Marshall has always been my favorite pup and he always will be. I mean, my favorite episode was Pups leave Marshall home alone where he did an entire rescue by himself using every single pup pack almost perfectly except for Skye’s. Marshall’s clumsiness is what brings out his personality and shows that even clumsy dogs can get the job done. Marshall is special in his own way and he puts a smile on everyone’s faces. It's actually really sad.. He's funny and a great pup! Just not good at his job usually sadly..sometimes he does well but a majority of the time he goofs something up and risks lives which isn't ok :( I think it'd be better if he worked as more of a moral pup! Jokes, helps in any way he can (more than just hose+ladder), and generally helps keep everyones spirits up as imo it's what he's best at; being charming :D

I'm only here to say that Zuma has always been my favorite because I've always said water is my element, want to live on the water/on a boat, love swimming, diving, scuba, sea creatures, any sort of water activities like the beach or water parks, all of it. And then on top of that he's the most underrated dog but has an amazing attitude all the time. He's excited and always wants to help, his lisp from the beginning was cute, he's a chocolate lab so he's MEANT to be in the water, and he was also given the statistically least favorite color among people, orange. And you know what? It looks great on him and stands out on the water. Chase, Marshall, Sky, all the overrated pups can kick rocks. Zuma is the best, and if Ryder ever kicks him off, I'll take him myself. :)

One thing I'd like to add that's not covered by the current data. Most of Zuma's calls are done in an IDLH environment, something even Marshall the fire pup doesn't have to deal with. Zuma's calls present a lot more risk to life and safety (excluding Sky) than the other pups. Especially in real life translation, most underwater rescues performed by police/fire/ems usually turn into recovery operations vs an actual save.

Marshall serves a very important purpose!!!! He’s moral support, he makes the other pups laugh. In a job like this, keeping high morale is actually extremely important. To me he’s almost like a therapy dog. Also, Skye’s job is technically taken by air pups! That was the very first sub series. I’ve also watched most if not all of the episodes if you can’t tell haha.

Oddly enough, as a kid I always had a deep hatred for Ryder. Now, I have more of a reason. Another thing is I used to like Zuma and Sky a lot while the other’s were just a bit bothersome. I probably liked Sky because her being in the show a lot does a lot to you, but also because I found it quite cool how they actually showed a girl can do stuff and make differences with good skills. I think I liked Zuma a lot because we share the same personality (for the most part) and I grew attached. All the other pups had too much going on and were slightly annoying to the point where I didn’t enjoy their screen time. Something that I am just realizing now is that Ryder could have taught the pups more so they could be of more use for all missions. Seeing how Ryder helped the pups to grow up and develop their knowledge to this point means he can still teach them to be better and more fit for other missions so nothing can go wrong. I will say that Zuma does feel the lowest frequency regarding marketing. Didn't expect Marshall to get so low given his numerous 'character' episodes with boosting confidence and such (to the point I wanna say 'overrated') clearly the show wants to rank him up with Chase - the 3 to his 2 and Ryder's 1. But Zuma and even Rocky tend to be the least appearing on covers, maybe why they got buddied early on. Their houses are at the rear, they're second to last in the theme song, they've each only one Ultimate Rescue that's not even full-length, and while Zuma has the latest number, Rubble got shown as newest of the 6 (I wanna believe that as a typo). I recall a scene in S1's finale with just pups 4-7 that I feel could have potential in those playing scenes before missions or waiting for backup.
