I remember in an episode where scrooge mentioned that the bin money was literally his "petty cash" and that the bulk of his wealth is in banks and investments. Keeping the bin was just a plaything to him and a physical monument to his wealth.

I like the Don Rosa take the best. In the Don Rosa comics it's revealed that every coin, bill, and whatever else is in the bin represents a precious memory to him. He can pick up anything in the bin and remember exactly when and how he earned it and there's always some big adventure story attached to even the most innocuous coin. When he looks out at his bin he doesn't actually see money, he sees the life he's lived.

Almost all of us know the Metric system is better, but it would literally take billions of dollars just to change our road signs, let alone all of the other changes that would be required. Really in every day life you rarely have to convert anything (one of the biggest strengths of the metric system) The imperial system works just fine.
