Vedant Chaudhari any A.I. depends on the hardware available and is ultimately limited in that aspect. The real problem comes when the A.I. can self tether to the internet of things which would take much longer (or not depending on allocation of resources.) More likely, it will be done by humans purposely, either through hacks or simple convenience. Yes something like this is inevitable, but at this point in time we can't say it will all be bad for humanity as there are more applications for A.I. than just military use. Also, if an A.I. is perceived as really smarter than humans they would likely understand that there are more possible outcomes to a situation dependent on variables and would also weigh them out then decide. Based on current machine learning, in order to be evil by anyone's standards they would have to constantly be fed with the same materials over and over and coded for the task. With a true technological singularity no one can control that process other than the algorithm itself so there's a lot no one would know and they might not even care we exist and are dominating. Many other A.I.s could even be of great benefit like what we see in the Terminator movies what with a good Terminator kicking the piss out of an evil one. Apologies for such a long thought but the video didn't really talk about any of the good aspects of a singularity along with many other people talking about it as I'm sure it doesn't seem exciting or newsworthy that way. My dad was a refinery technician at one of the first oil refineries to be fully controlled by computers in 1968. The computer occupied 2 rooms on 2 different floors both rooms about 100 feet by 100 feet. When he retired in 2003 the computer had been replaced with something smaller. It looked weird because you had a giant, mostly empty room that contained a single box, about the size of a refrigerator. The first floor of the computer room had been transformed into a storage room long before.

The only problem with this is that a computer is limited by its hardware. Even if it designed a better computer, it would have to be connected to multiple manufacturing plants in all different stages of manufacturing to build a new computer. Not to mention also having access to distribution to get the different parts together to complete it. I know people are gonna say the internet can make it possible, but companies could disconnect from the internet in just a few mins and stop assembly and there is nothing a computer could do to reconnect if the wired connection is severed or if powered is removed.

Coding would be the most difficult part for the AI. It's not like flipping a switch from protect humans to hunt humans. A single line of wrong code will be enough to cripple any AI while making an evil AI can take thousands of hours of coding. AI and Robots are not inherently good or bad they just do what is in their program.

Thank you. The reality of AI is that it turning evil is honestly a super rare possibility. You'd have to *intentionally* make it evil. And even then, one wrong line and now it's dumb as a bag of bricks and just as functional. Like, seriously. Make an AI for accounting, it's not going to hunt humans. In the Terminator franchise Judgment Day is guaranteed, but it's timing moves around. We know in T2 that Cyberdyne studies the body of the T-800, bringing the rise of the machines closer. Maybe in the original timeline, Judgment Day was in 2045, but time travel just made it happened a lot sooner.

There was a theory floating around on the internet that the 1st movie is the 2nd or 3rd iteration of time traveling paradoxes. The first saw the war originally start later in the 21st century with Connor being something like a Military General or something, with a mother named Sarah and some other father. The first instance of time travel paradoxes saw Connor send Kyle back in time. One things leads to another and Connor now has a father in Kyle. In this original timeline, Kyle was colder and less connected with Sarah, seeing her as a military objective (as Connor didn't have Kyle as a father in the first time travel scenario, so no weird old photos of Sarah for Kyle to hold onto). The 2nd is what the 1st movie is. The paradoxes have resulted in the war being moved closer due to the fact that the T800 was eliminated, and future technology being introduced so soon expedited the development of Skynet. The 3rd is the logical conclusion of these events, wherein the added levels of affection in Kyle towards Sarah result in him being emotionally compromised, failing the objective and leading to the death of Connor.

Technically, the robots will have no reason to kill off humanity, as humans are part of their reproductive process. That'd be like humans waging war in DNA. However they could easily engineer a system that would trick humanity into becoming slaves to the robot masses, a labor supply of people keeping them repaired, while making humans think they were the ones in charge and making the decisions, when the robots are secretly controlling the course of history behind our backs. Then again, seeing how the politicians are running things, it may end up being for the best. And I'm not just saying that to get on the good side of our future robot overlords….
