Originally posted in March 2013, this was a crossover filmed at MAGfest that year, and is the second of two crossovers (to date) with Rap Critic; the first being Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son. As you've likely noticed from the running time, this has been extensively re-edited, and runs 2m 11s shorter than the original. I discovered, to my delight, that I still had the source files for this review, so I was able to completely remaster it using the original edit file. This re-post is obviously meant to tie in with Den of Thieves, the similarly themed film with 50 Cent opening in cinemas. Here are the changes: - In HD for the very first time! - Movie footage has been remastered with anamorphic encoding and upscaled into HD. This remaster revealed the old file had dropped frames throughout, meaning the edits were all thrown out, so I had to recut all the clips to fix the errors this created, from top to bottom. - My narration throughout the entire episode has been completely re-voiced. This was during my "angry" phase where I over-exaggerated everything, so I had to throw it all out and start again. Hopefully it's a much easier listen. This turned out to be slightly harder when it turns out my original script had not been corrected for errors I fixed when I first made the episode, so then I had to go back and do those lines yet again! - The usual edits to reduce the amount of movie footage used. Rap Critic is probably one of the funniest people I know, and I think he's brilliant in this crossover, and I am happier with this episode now. Hope you enjoy it, it took a fair few days work to get it into this state.

This kind of opening is how I wish more crossover reviews back then began, with the people involved actively _collaborating_ and having fun with the idea of the project.

Agreed. Nearly all of them opening with the reviewers acting like they had a feud going on and sniping at each other wore thin really quickly so this is a nice change.

@@devinharbert2245I agree with you there. I feel that Law Abiding Citizen is a fantastic film up until the scene in the car park onwards. At that point, none of Clyde's actions make any sense and it really kills the ending as I didn't buy Jonas fooling him. Also, Clyde was clearly originally supposed to be the main character.

2 questions, 1) Do you plan to repost your Rap Critic BMB crossover on Big Mommas?(Perhaps around the release of Madea's Funeral?) and 2) Do you have any films in your review pile that you'd consider doing with rap critic? I always enjoyed them because I feel you have a natural comic chemistry that comes through in the reviews.

1) At some point, but nothing in mind just yet unless I do a new crossover it can tie into. Speaking of... 2) Rap Critic and I have wanted to do another collaboration for years, but it's difficult because we're separated by an ocean. But I do have ideas should the opportunity arise.

To be fair, if they put the James Remar seen before Ryan Phillippe goes to the prison, it really wouldn't make sense. getting into a violent fight like that would certainly get you a week or a month in the hole. I'm going to take a wild guess and say that this is not his first violent outburst. They sure as hell would not give him a visit, even behind the glass, with his kid if he got put in solitary

Out of curiosity, I do wonder how black reviewers like the Rap Critic feel about people like 50 Cents, and the whole "gangsta black culture" that is so rampant in movies? 'cause for many of us in Eastern Europe who only see black people as tourists or the rare off-shore office colleague... many times that is our only view at black urban culture in the USA, and I have to say it does not paint a very positive picture...

What is it that many films, such as this, show high action sequences so close up, it comes across as a fast montage of bad photos of people flopping around? There's no arc to the action--where they're coming from and goint to; relative distances; interaction within the parameters of the environment; and who is who doing what. Also, hasn't any filmmaker realized how pointless and tiresome it is when the villain is about the kill the hero, he simply has to blah blah blah, thus giving the protagonist the opportunity to. . . . that's right---get away.? There's no suspense there, because we've seen this before in almost every movie with a hero, a villain and a weapon. How can there be even the slightest tension anymore? It worked well in Goldfinger when Bond was about to ge sliced by a laser. That had all the targeted male viewers squeamish.---54 years ago. 💩
@wolverineminer6 жыл бұрын
It's because they saw the Bourne movies do it, and don't realize it worked in them because much of the fighting was extremely close-quarters and claustrophobic on purpose and the flashy cutting was to make the audience feel disoriented.
