This was a great tutorial. I like the pace of how you show and explain things - not too fast, like so many other tutorials. It makes it easier to learn how to do it. I also like that you showed how to do text as well. Thanks so much for this!

Hi Morris, I tried using bend it on a outline rectangle. the problem is when i bend the shape, the stroke of the outline didn't stay the same.. as it bends it became thicker at the corners. Is there anyway to preserve the width of the stroke as it bend? Thanks.
@MorrisBarrier3 жыл бұрын
Did you try precomping it?
@LearnWithGP5 жыл бұрын
That's very good. I need some help on this. I want to animate a rectangle so that it curls to form a cylinder by joining it's opposite edges. Could you please help?
@MorrisBarrier5 жыл бұрын
Would setting the 'render prestart' to mirror help you? That would turn a rectangle to a full circle. Let me know or if I am misunderstanding what you mean by 'cylinder'
@InstaNest5 жыл бұрын
- Create 2 Shapes, 1st Rectangle and 2nd cylinder, ( remember don't combine them in one layer, they need to be in a separate layer ), then convert both shapes path into bezier paths, and as you want rectangle to change into cylinder, so copy cylinder layer's path then give a keyframe to rectangle's path forward 5 frames ( or as you want ) then while selecting rectangle layers press ( ctrl+v ) voila!

any way to keep the ends of the lines static? as in, both end points of the line stay in the same position, but the line bends. Like it is being pushed, like elastic
@Mingodough4 жыл бұрын
how do you make them blink while they're bending like in the beginning of the video
@MorrisBarrier4 жыл бұрын
There are many ways to make eyes blink. Here I just changed the vertical scaling from 100 to about 20 using keyframes. You can also create 2 sets of eyes. One open/one closed. Use hold keyframes to turn the opacity on and off. Both methods are very simple.

Hi, I imported some illustrations from photoshop and when I try to bend my illustration gets cut off. Do you have any recommendations for fixing this problem? It feels like there is a mask around the object I cant control.
@MorrisBarrier4 жыл бұрын
did you precomp the PSD files? Let me know if that does or does not work.

bending is driving me crazy. im literally wanting to do the simplest thing with zero luck. imagine a horizontal bar, i want to bend it in the middle with athe rest of it being straight, ive been through all the tuts on youtube and all anyone is doing is the bend where everything is curved, imagine if you bend a pipe , it might not always ben d throughout the length, it might bend on only a small section in the middle, hwo do i achieve this!?

Is your artwork precomped?

@@freemanleung6335 can you email me a screenshot if you are still having issues? mbarrier1971@gmail.com.
@freemanleung63354 жыл бұрын
Morris Barrier i was just about to send you a screenshot but i figured it out today. You have to add a toComp(value) expression for the Start and End then relocate the anchor points back into the object youre trying to bend. Thank you for trying to help though!
