As much as I love my beautiful bugs...GW seriously wrote themselves into a corner with them. If we go strictly by lore and capabilities of Tyranids...they win. At the end of the day the nids will win no matter what any faction does. It would take the complete cooperation of every other race to stop the entire swarm.
@Malidictum1177 ай бұрын
I'd agree in some ways. But in reality, as far as power scaling goes. Once the Necrons fully awaken; if they all join together again instead of resorting to factions. They alone are overkill to every other race including the Tyranids. And that's because the only big surprise left for nids is actually revealing its overmind. Whereas, the Necrons are written as such, that their litteral strongest units and weapons are still asleep. What the Necrons muster at the current moment is enough to enslave gods. That's my thoughts on it though.

@@Malidictum117the nids actively avoid the necrons because they can’t eat them, and the necrons weapons break down bios down to the cellular level. Thats a pretty neat link to human history. Nothing bound humans at scale as a common threat. Infact most big empires crambled because there was no enemy left to conquer, so they started to conquer on each other. While humanity is united under the Emperor, a threat like the Tyranids will reduce intrigues and could make humanity more independent.

The shadow in the warp is one of the best concepts in 40K. I tend to think a lot of 40Ks kind of a mess, like as I get older, my memory works better so I can remember more of it and realize how much of it is kind of either pointless or in conflict with itself. But as a foreboding concept the shadow in the warp is so good and so clean. it's named perfectly it's a concise like events that's really easy to understand in its scale and dread. The warp to an extent is another one of those good concepts. (The warp minus the Warp gods is good. theres no order in the warp it's just chaos so there shouldn't be a hierarchy as well.)

My theory is that the Tyranids are the last great middle finger of the Old Ones. At the end of the War in Heaven the last of the Old Ones fled the Milky Way Galaxy for let's say the Andromeda Galaxy they lay one last seeding of life. Hatred and anger perverting the Old One's normal life seeding. They create a grim cradle in the Andromeda Galaxy. A whole galaxy is consumed and then summoned back home to the Milky Summoned back by the Astronomicon. Think about it though the Tyranids solve every Old One problem. They consume the eldar, ork, and human. This cleans up the messes they left behind. They will either wash over the necrons or deprive them of any chance of returning to flesh. All life, all minerals, all things consumable have been, leaving nothing for the necrons to even try and make new bodies, leaving them to their bitter madness. By wiping out all life in the Milky Way then that means chaos dies and the warp becomes placid once more. And if the Old Ones who made them still care the tyranids would have to move on and maybe at some point life might start again far, far in the future.
@mr.revrac56028 ай бұрын
Except the tyranids had no interest in the milky way beyond the food it provided. Pharos tells us that the Tyranids were asleep, drifting, after consuming yet another galaxy. Then suddenly a light from the pharos beacon went off telling them there was food. They weren’t even aware of the milky way’s existence until then. Its also just a boring theory that rips off halo, and countless other sci fi universes that ruins the tyranids uniqueness. Yeah no thanks.
@geofff.33438 ай бұрын
@@mr.revrac5602 The Old Ones knew the elder might attract them so the fact it was humanity via the Pharos beacon is really immaterial. Also while it has shades of Halo let's not pretend what started life as a satirical take on the sci-fi genre writ large is above a little lifting from other works. Also "countless" is a tad hyperbolic.
@mr.revrac56028 ай бұрын
@@geofff.3343 so your telling me that the old ones fled, made the tyranids, and then what? Let them wander around for millions of years? Hoping that the milky way would draw their attention? Yeah that makes sense. Not every faction needs to be tied to the old ones. Especially not the only one thats meant to be wholly removed from the milky way. They are supposed to be the other, completely different than anything currently here. And you want to give them the exact same origin story as many other factions. That diminishes their purpose and what makes them unique, as well as makes the universe smaller by implying the old ones are the only way anything important is made. How boring.

I have two theories about the tyranids but both involve them being created by the old ones, theory 1: During the war in heaven the C’tan needed souls to fuel their strength, the old ones couldn’t manage them though and but the to be extremely intelligent that way they would be self reliant. the tyranids were a way of starving them and depriving them of their power and food source but the necrons being metal scared them and pushed them back and the old ones put them back in ghosts shelf or their extreme intelligence told them tv war wasn’t worth it and they fled to save themselves . Theory 2: They are a giant reset button that either escaped or the surviving old ones unleashed, after the war in heaven the few old ones that survived began to repopulate and become ready to nurture the galaxy once more but many of what they created was for war, the orks thirsted for it had hulking beasts of war and the Aeldari psychic might weren’t meant for what they had in store, they were weapons for self defense not for peaceful life, so the old ones wanted the tyranids to devour they entire galaxy and archive their dna so whenever they came back the galaxy will be bare, ripe for them to restore the galaxy using the archived dna to reseed the galaxy

@@Michaelkayslayto find idiots like you who watch a KZbin video and suddenly think that makes them experts. We couldn’t even have a debate if we tried because you dont know anything about warhammer beyond what your told and thats sad. If you actually have an interest in warhammer go read the book or find an audio book.
