In an odd twist of fate the legion has grown to the point that there are telegram scam bots infesting the comments on every video we upload. Monkeys paw and all that. I am working diligently to try and purge as many as possible but it's a game of whack a mole unfortunately new accounts keep popping up. For your own safety please please please do not click on any telegram giveaways in the comments. Nothing of the sort is being run at the moment and if I was it would be explicitly mentioned in the video with detailed instructions. Stay safe friends

Tzeentch, at least, feels conflicted about the Tyranids. Because, on one hand, here is a race of creatures who CONSTANTLY change and improve for WHATEVER they go after. On the other hand, these same creatures are making it REALLY hard to convert others to him, specifically, since they keep getting merc’ed and bodied left right and center.

The Tyranids present the idea of embracing change to survive, Tzeentch changes things JUST because. He represents endless possibility, but if the Tyranids devour the galaxy then their is no possibilities left to ponder. I would actually think Tzeentch would find that offensive and want them burned to ashes. Plus their shadow in the warp is dangerous to psykers, something tzeentch loves.

My favourite bit of Nid lore is that Genestealer Cults sell the belief that the fleet is a sort of messiah coming to liberate them from the Imperium's tyranny. It isn't until the battle for the planet is won that they learn that they're going into the decomp pools just like the guardsmen and dead bugs.
@oniemployee3437
@oniemployee3437 11 ай бұрын
If I may add something to this: i remember reading that those who are part of the cult "get the Veil lifted" when the invasion is in the final completion stages. When the bugs come down and deliverance seems near, cultists regain their composure and collectively think *"what's happening?! Whats going on?! What have I done?!"*
@jaiclary8423
@jaiclary8423 11 ай бұрын
@@oniemployee3437 Just off the top of my head, it makes sense that controlling the cultists might actually require a lot of psychic effort, and once the invasion has begun that effort needs to be put toward controlling the *real* Tyranids. Though it also makes the genestealers a tragic victim. They never "chose" to serve the Tyranids - their free-will was psychically co-opted.

I actually have an idea on how the tyranids could eat a primarch and yet not get a massive boost: they acheive this buuuuuut the unit they try to make with the genetic material from the primarch retains the massive downside of a primarch's ego. Making it uncontrollable/ contest the hive mind and thus unusable. In fact, imagine if the newly made tyrarch now is a constant struggle between a tyranid unit and an independant being, possibly bearing the original personality of what was eaten.

Everyone has had the feeling of what I call the sixth sense, that feeling that comes from "the guts", the back of the brain scratching, intuition, whatever you want to call it, it's just as real as the first five, but harder to explain and quantify so isn't acknowledged by science, but it kept human beings alive thru many many apocalyptic situations we shouldn't have lived thru. We ignore it now days to the point of silencing it, well I don't. The huge vast majority of people do though. That feeling has saved my life more than once and has pulled me out of bad situations before they even happened. The itching in the back of the brain that says "something is WRONGGGGGG". Listen and build it like a muscle and it will serve you well.

gonna put out a theory about the ork vs. tyranid fight. orks were engineered by the old ones. the hive fleet that won the fight was decimated and had to rebuild using ork biomass. having used that biomass now the hive fleet is more orky, less likely to follow orders from the hive mind, and may even start infighting with other hive fleets to gather biomass the way orks infight to feed themselves. hivefleet waaagh may rampage across the galaxy before encountering gaz, and if the tyranids are orky enough gork and mork might add their waaagh to gaz's waaagh. side tangent: i know the patches will never be re-released so the people who were here early have something special. would you ever release the patch designs as small enamel pins so the rest of the fanbase can enjoy the art and show our support, while maintaining the special nature of the patches?

Imagine a book from the perspective of the Tyranids. Every character is an individual, but every part of the hive is described as parts of the same body. The whole book being inner Monologes as they strip planets clean. The hive minds perspective as the imperium shows up to stop them. Them weighing options on what worlds to eat. It could be a fascinating practice in dehumanization & creative writing.

I really do want to see a new generation of Warhammer. They have been stalling the galactic war out for so long at this point, with so much shit happening left and right.. What about a new era? The Tyranids are the perfect catalyst for it too. For example, what if they finally hit that 'no return' button and finally get something valuable like you said. The rest of the factions realize how screwed they are and decide..Ya know what? Time for an exodus. New galaxy a'hoy!!! Seriously, mass exodus of the galaxy itself. They..run. That would be an insanely cool story and a way to even introduce new races if they move to a new galaxy entirely.

Thought I will say that Nids fighting Khorne is kinda like Orkz fighting Khorne. Because any direct fighting you do against Khorne is only going going to make him stronger. So it ends up being like the Loony Tunes where each guy is just bringing out a bigger gun. Nids adapt, Khorne gets stronger from those adaptations, Nids adapt to those guys, Khorne gets stronger from THOSE adapted Nids. The only way that Nids could fight Khorne and win would be to adapt to a totally ranged, totally psycher attack style to beat any Khorne units, and that's just not how Nids roll.

That... is precisely what they do. Of course that is how they roll. Nid MO is adapt regardless of what it looks like, they dont have a preferred style, they just do whats needed.They employ melee units because they work just fine against most enemies. Hivefleet Chronos besides speccing hard into shadow in the warp, has far more ranged units than other fleets.
@explosivooo
@explosivooo Жыл бұрын
@@crim1188 Right MORE but not entirely. And with an increased shadow in the warp it makes them more easily susceptible to being overcome by the warp. They may be Nids but they are still limited in number by fleet and a huge warp presence like that would attract the infinite number of Khorne to come after them AND they would be fighting Khorne in the warp.

Also Maginot line was a construction of forts, machine gun posts, obstructions etc built in 30s to force Germany to funnel their vehicles and so make a kind of "hot pass" killing ground where the french could concentrate their firepower from behind well fortified concrete bunkers and constructions and stop the Germans entrenching their country but the Germans bypassed it by attacking from the low countries and passing it to the north. This should have been prevented but Belgium was scared that if France built the Maginot line all the way, Germany would just steamroll over Belgium and utterly destroy them and then turn round and hit France from there. So they left a gap towards the English channel and the Germans fully exploited it, the Maginot line covered Frances border with Italy,Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and I think Switzerland, but cos of Belgium's fears they left that gap The French were expecting another grueling trench war after the last war, but Germany had much better land vehicles now and with the Luftwaffe and their blitzkrieg style of war were able to rapidly circumvent the line almost completely. The Maginot is now a french metaphor for an expansive undertaking that makes you feel better but ends up to be useless"that huge storm drain that cost £1,000,000 but flooded after the first rains was just a Maginot line, wasn't it?" Not a very good example but I think you'll get it

the new Tyranid lore that came along with 10th Edition and the Leviathan book is insane. Whole segmentum gets sandwiched between 2 new tendrils of Hive Fleet Leviathan, one from above and one from below the galactic plane. A couple of Imperial ships manage to escape by the skin of their teeth and get far back to one of the main worlds where Lord Solar Leontus happens to be, they get word to him just as the Shadow In The Warp begins to fall onto the planet and Lord Solar rushes to Terra to muster a defense force (which costs his Navigator and Astropaths their lives). They create the "Solblades", rapid strike forces consisting of Space Marines, Custodes, Sorroitas and whatever other forces they can get, and they start hit and run attacks on the 2 tendrils while evacuating less defensible planets and fortifying the stronghold worlds. This works well for a while until a THIRD tendril comes rocking up and gets to the main core planet in the sector they're defending. This place is a fortress beyond measure, there's an asteroid ring full of ships and battlestations and even the Imperial Fists' space station fortress, the bugs force their way through, there's even a VERY graphic description of the crew of one of these stations being digested alive when a massive hive ship just swallows the entire station. On the ground they hit SO hard, but Leontus and the Captain general of the Custodes are holding out, until a trio of Norn Emissaries show up, one wrecks a major command station but the last living guy insdie blows the place up and kills it, another tears a hole in a defensive line after going up against 20 Dreadnoughts by itself before fleeing (after killing most of said Dreadnoughts). The third one sneaks up to the mountain top above the fortress, waits for Leontus and his half-mile long retinue of guards and attendants to come into the courtyard as he makes his rounds directing and inspiring his troops, and leaps down onto them and is only blasted aside by a Custodian gunship mere feet from crashing down onto Leontus. It STILL manages to smash Leontus' retinue to a pulp, tear said gunship out of the sky and kill most of the Custodians that it dropped off before Captain General Trajann Valorus deals a killing blow to it, the 2 leaders BARELY survived this. At this point the tide seems to be turning, the Imperials are driving back the Tyranids. Then the story cuts to a Solblade led by a Raven Guard Shadow Captain, who is caleld to the bridge of his ship and the navigator points him to the viewscreen, coming into view between them and the core fortress planet, is what at first seems to be a moon, but the Captain is confused for a moment as his carts show no moons in that area, and then he sees it begin to move, and writhe. It's not a moon, it's the biggest Tyranid organism ever seen and it's heading for the planet.

I’ll be honest, when I ran my Nids I had made them a Tendril of hive fleet Kraken. The Tendril I ran was based out of a water world, who heavily used their Genestealers, and even had heavy influence with Cultists, and I loved making the story for them. Even had custom color set for them that would make them look like sharks, and even had barnacles, sea weed, etc growing on them.

Just gonna put this as a fan theory in-universe reason for why tyrannids get bodied on occasion, but then the ultimate creature biology proves itself elsewhere in 40k. you know what gets me about the tyranids? we often see them from an astartes superpower galaxy-wide perspective and so we see them at a macro scale. we kinda forget EXACTLY how horrifying they are cuz the dudes fighting them are SOMEWHAT more equipped to deal with them. they're still scary, but their terror lies in their sheer volume and adaptability. in one book, i think it's one of the ravenor ones iirc - baseline humans (albeit of the inquisitorial type) encounter ONE tyranid. ONE*. and you see them from a normal-ish human perspective, and its like having to fight a fucking xenomorph. it's bigger than them, it's got all the tyranid gnarliness, its faster than them, its absolute nightmare fuel. and you kinda remember that oh shit, yeah, these bugs are something else entirely. and thats what's so, SO good about them *feel free to fact check me on this, its been a while since i've read any 40k books

Well. Sometimes they will keep trying. But if you fight the war of attrition for long enough. There is a chance that they will just leave. If they see that the cost to Benefit ratio isn’t right for them. Eg, battle with necrons vs tynarids. The current 4th tyranic war has already began. And the high lord of terra, lord Liantus managed to repel 3 hive fleet tendrils. Barely. He made the tyranids so angry, they sent a norm emissary to kill him. The norn emissary killed 6 custodians on its own. Also, we are also in trouble. Cause now. The tyranids have their form of a brother moon from dead space.

The thing is, we don't know the size of the true Hive fleet and the time scales at which the Tyranids plan because they are so alien. What seems like Victory against the Tyranids might just be a first phase of invasion defeated, now they know what they're dealing with so they send in the big bugs, arriving 1000 years later having that time to adept new bioforms. Or 10000 years, or 100000 years. We have no way of knowing when or if we were safe when the enemy comes from far outside the galaxy and we can't leave that Galaxy

There is one way to seriously harm a Hive Fleet. Wait until the Hive fleet has started the full invasion of a planet, then Nuke / Virus Bomb / Any other Exterminatus available the planet. This massively weakens the Hive Fleet because it expends a lot of energy without being able to recoup the loss.

This is an amazing description of the nids, havent seen any explanation even touch the terror, confusion, and bewilderment this does. The way you explained their method of fast speed travel combined with the shadow in the warp messing with the planet followed by the hopeless nature of the invasion, the subtle hints at genestealer cults and the sabotage. All in all it was incredible. You need to write and dictate 40k stories, properly terrifying.

The overloaded beacon signaled the nids to approach, but astronomicon keeps them coming. I think that the tyranids hunt by waiting for a galaxy to get so full of life it becomes a natural astronomicon, the sheer ammount of souls blazing out a beacon. The explosion drew them in early, but undercooked food is still food. Edit: i said souls but i meant warp based mental activity, the chatter or living biengs reflecting and echoing through the warp drawing in the predators
