I am a big fan of that film. I've seen it twice at the movie theaters. Unfortunately, Sayles was sued by someone who wrote that script which she felt he stole. She's a lawyer, so she's not giving up her lawsuit. Honestly, I believe her story.

This is the #1 reason why people shouldn't be concerned about AI replacing writers/directors/actors - human connection is everything in movies.

You can tell when a film has the got it factor. It involves at its core some truth and authenticity on the behalf of the author or director, and, if you truly are wise you realize this does NOT take "many years of social connection & experience". It takes truth. That's how even Black Cauldron is revered to this day. People don't avoid talking about that Disney cartoon movie because it is quote unquote "god awful; incomplete" or "5/10; not the best nor the worst". They are lying to themselves about how doing the right thing as well as true proverbial adventure in REAL LIFE works. So everyone: Follow your convictions to the bitter, better end, for the rest of your own lives. Ghost in the Shell is not impossible to beat in 2024+. Spongebob earns its keep every year for a reason. Please never, ever give up. Not just in your creative careers but also in a world growing increasingly socially anxious. You KNOW that life is ultimately fair, right? Remember your gifts.

Thanks, FC. I don't PERCEIVE myself to be reserved or swimming in my own lane even rarely, although i do push way too hard... Sometimes! Good thing that there really is always "something". ;)
