Honestly, LongLegs didnt do it for me as a horror movie (quite the let down for me personally)- however as an arthouse thriller, it excelled in its storytelling and cinematography. Worth the watch for its artistic endeavors but not even close to being the scariest movie of the year, let alone the decade 😅.

Longlegs turned out to be over-rated rubbish with Nicolas Cage in a grotesque rubber mask. Clearly aiming to produce some Silence of the Lambs ‘vibes’ with the female FBI officer on the trail etc. The nasty NC self-mutilation scene - head banging against the table till bloody and dead - brings to mind the very similar scene in Talk to My Hand which I would say is mimicking rather than homage.

Hey all! Thanks for taking the time to comment! I understand that the movie wasn't to your taste, and that's completely reasonable. I should have added to my first comment that for me, it is one of the best movies of this year, along with A Late Night with the Devil. I respect what you all are saying, but for me, the movie is amazing! My friends and I had a great time while watching it. It did keep me engaged the whole time, and I also have to say that I loved the character Andy. The actor did a magnificent job to the point that it made me feel like the main character was a support character. I didn't have any issues when they were speaking, but some of my friends had the same experience as you. So that might be a bigger problem than I thought. Not between us, my least favorite part of the movie was the last creature. It just didn't do it for me. However, my friends said it was super scary. So I guess that's also up to personal preference. Talking about preferences, I enjoyed that they went back to their roots! I can also see why that might be bad for others. That's just not the case for me.
