Saw it in the theater when it was first released, and I loved this film so much that I asked my parents to rent it so I could watch it again with friends on my birthday. You know, if you just take out the wordy bits and dates, and run this as a surreal sci-fi horror monster future history movie, it works! Great special effects & CGI. Awesome production values. Enough Apocalyptic, over-the-top death, destruction and (very briefly) sex, to satisfy me age 13. Never met an Apocalypse I didn't fall madly in love with. No gore? Bore! 'Cry Havoc, and unleash the Dogs of War! The Demons of Destiny! The Darkest Dooms! And don't forget to feed the Cat when you're through. Or he'll eat you.
