tbh, i dont think it would be a good movie. visually it wold be stunning. but jodorowsky didnt grasp the book. the book is about what wold happened if the middle east had mohammed in the 20th century. what would happen is what haappens in the book. paul mau'dib =mohammed, arrakis=middle east spice=fossil fuel. jodorowsky like david lynch focused too much on the messsiah aspect of the book and ignored the point frank hubert was making about how all travel and trade/commerce would end if the spice/fossil fuel stopped flowing. the movie the road warrior. the intro of the movie, does a better job showing the reprocussions if fossil fuel stopped flowing.
@PASTRAMIKick4 жыл бұрын
Denis Villeneuve is making it, which is a fantastic choice and probably the best choice.
@KalmaLang2 жыл бұрын
@Google made me do it are you happy now? :)))

@@indigosunset70 Jodorowsky never tried to grasp the book's "true" meaning. He wanted it to make his own story, and despite the movie being cancelled, he turned that vision into an outstanding comic book series. What he attempted with Dune was groundbreaking for sci-fi in cinéma, so don't act like a snob who thinks to know anything better.

Yeah... Steven Spielberg is not what he says, he also made Schindler's List, Jaws and other amazing work. You can't always take Jodorowsky's opinions too seriously, the man is great but he's too far out. (Spielberg has done some doo doo films, but he is a competent director)
@feragma11 жыл бұрын
Si
@feragma11 жыл бұрын

Lol why does Alejandro Jodorowsky talk about Spielberg as if he has no idea who James Cameron and Michael Bay is
@saiashwin267 жыл бұрын
Cuz Spielberg is a better filmmaker than those two, Michael Bay makes garbage not films

Im dissapointed that Jodorowsky didn't hand The Incal live action adaptation to Refn, he ended up giving the project to Taika Waititi and he told Taika the exact same words he said to Refn here. " youre the only person who can make El Incal" Jodorowsky is so full of sh## sometimes

Not if they do Incal, then it will suck. If Jodo writes a fresh script it might be good. But an adaptation can only suck. What can they do? Take the words and put them in a script. Yawn. Put the images on screen. Yawn. Pure mediocrity. If this director really cares why not raise funding for King Shot?
