बहुत सुंदर फिल्म थी यह । उस समय के काॅलेज स्टुडंट्स ( लडके+लडकियाॅ) को ये पिक्चर समजणे नहीं आयी । दिमाग जिसमे है असा कहते हैं , वो सरके उपरसे हवा न लगते हुए ये फिल्म उनके सरकेल उपरसे गयी । इस की कहानी ,बिमल राॅय ,शैलेन्द्र, गुलजार ,एस.डी.बर्मन ,नूतन , अशोककुमार ,धर्मेंद्र ,बाकी बंगाली अॅक्टर्सकी करतूतोको सलाम ! क्या पिक्चर थी ! अभी जो करोनाका दोर चल रहा है ,उसमे सिनेमा टाॅकीज बंद है । धीरे धीरे खुल रहे है । पर नये सिनेमाके शाॅर्टेजमे पुराने जमानेके जबरदस्त पिक्चर दिखाकर भलेही एक शो दिखाकर दर्शकोको थिएटर की तरफ आकर्षित किया जा सकता है । जैसे व्ही शांताराम ,बी.आर.चोप्रा ,ए.व्ही.एम ,जेमिनी, बासू चॅटर्जी,ऋषिकेश मुकर्जी ,बासू भट्टाचार्य ,बिमल राय ,गुरुदत्त ,आदींनी निर्मित जबरदस्त फिल्मे दिखानेका प्रयोग किया जा सकता है । मराठी,बंगाली, दक्षिणी भाषाओकी भावपूर्ण फिल्मे दिवाकर दर्शकोको थिएटर की तरफ आकर्षित किया जा सकता है । इस से नये पीढीको पुरानी फिल्मोका क्या माॅरल रहता था ,किस आमदारकी कथा चुनी जाती थी ,उन कथाओका माॅरल व्हॅल्यू तो नये पीढीको मालूम होगी । नागपूर में व्ही.शांताराम और जब्बार पटेल की दिग्दर्शित पिक्चरे विशेष रुपसे दिखाई गयी थी । बी.आर.चोप्राकी इन्साफका तराजू.कानून , गुरुदत्तकी प्यासा ,कागज के फूल , शांताराम की पडोसी , दो आॅंखे बारह हाथ तैसी फिल्मोका महत्व आजभी है । इस प्रस्ताव पर थिएटर वाले विचार करे ।

Yes he was a bengali writer who worked as a jailor. The original story is Louha kapat ( the iron door) written by charuchandra chakraborty . He used to pen his experience as a jailor in his writing. One of a kind movie. Bimal Roy had a penchant for creating masterpieces and bring out emotions from the facial expressions, and not dependent on background music. Nutan was amazing in this movie, and like many other movies of that era. She acted in a parallel universe, compared to her contemporaries. The story is by another Bengali, Charu Chakraborty (Jarasandh). Sometimes it fills me with immense pride on the sheer number of talented Bengali stalwarts of that era who were charting peaks of arts and expression. Obviously this is not to belittle any other community, but we love to bask in the reflected glory, when we don't have anything to celebrate anymore! Regards
