@@emperorconstantine1.361 I grew up with my (now late) Mum's love of John Wayne, and he could do no wrong in her eyes, so Westerns, war films etc were a staple diet in our house!! We've also always loved (and worked with) horses, so the Westerns were always a bonus to me, too. However, (decades after John's sad demise from cancer) I later learned that JW was a staunch Republican ...and so _that_ sad fact has somewhat soured my memories of him.🇺🇲😢💔☹️ ...🐴♥️🐴🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

@@willman4631 My late Mum adored John Wayne but I don't think she knew about his politics, it might've soured her view of him if she had. Likewise mine. Republicans _and_ moral attitudes do not seem to be mutually inclusive, as far as I see them - depending on how many MAGA monsters there are in the Republican party of course. Apparently there are _some nice_ Tories, (!!!) though once you've dug under the surface you discover an anti-_social_ outlook which seems to be bred into them. 😠😡

John Wayne is an icon. He was great in every movie he made. He also wanted his movies to be wholesome & for the entire family to ve able to watch. He was an old style republican before the party got so badly corrupted. He wouldn't like Trump, maga & where the republican party has gone today. I wish he was still here to take Trump down, call maga what it is (a lying group of cultists) & save the republican party from itself. John Wayne wouldn't like anything about the politics going on today!!! He was a true american!!!

I Love these Ole’ Westerns they most certainly don’t make TV like used to back in the day in the 40’s - 80’s. I’m soon 66-y.o. use to enjoy watching Westerns with my Grandfather, I loved to watch Western Movies (just to name a few) he loved especially John Wayne, Robert Mitchum, Clint Eastwood, Kurt Douglas, and his fav shows like Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Little House On The Prairie, Rifle Man, etc., etc.,. etc,. He loved any and all Classic Western Actors/Actresses and Western Movies. . . I loved spending time with my grandfather, but when he was watching his Westerns you best NOT talk or make noise, you need to sit there QUIETLY or leave! ! He was a Hunter, Hunted Game (whatever was in Season (Deer, Rabbit, Pheasants, Quail, Doves, etc.) and had a BIG collection of firearms. Only thing granddad was missing was a ranch, horses, & leather chaps, LOL He had a cowboy hat, boots and a Señorita, (seriously, NO joke) 😂 Oh and chewed tobacco, and was sure to be packing heat everywhere he went, he had a habit of carrying a good amount of $$ on him didn’t believe in Credit Cards, he was Ole’ School was from Eldorado, Oklahoma back in the days when Bootleggers made their own beer, wine and especially Moonshine (Corn Whiskey) - and told me stories of how he was a Street Boxer for $$. He was short in stator 5-ft.1 but was a very strong 💪🏻willed - minded wiseman that took NO crap from NOBODY! Yes, He was tough. Anyway, I loved, appreciated and enjoyed hanging out with him, he taught me a hell’ve a lot about life. Enjoyed his stories and watching Westerns with him and going hunting with him, I miss him dearly, he passed in Dec 97’ was my father figure, at times a friend when needed that “father” I didn’t have from my and my brothers dad, he was never around had a very abusive stepfather that molested and sexually abusive to me starting when our mother married this creep pedophile. . . [Enough about that.] 🙏🛐🕊️R.I.P. 🕊️🛐🙏 James P. Hill Missing You SO MUCH Grandfather ♥️♥️♥️♥️ I’m watching our fav Westerns in Memory of YOU [To Everyone Reading This: ] Be sure to tell and show you’re Loved Ones You love them on a daily basis because LIFE IS SHORTER THAN WE KNOW - and “TOMORROW IS NEVER PROMISED” God Bless You All 🙏🛐 From Santa Clarita, California Sending MuchLove, Blessings & Best Wishes to yall 🥰 - Angel 🩷🩵🩷

I wish John Wayne and his type were still alive today. Especially today. So many actors and actresses have become so watered down and weak minded. They shouldn’t influence the public but unfortunately they do. This movie was made in the 50’s which was still a great decade to live in when the USA still wanted to have respect. That’s mostly gone now and every time we want to bring it back there’s some hilarious fool that says different.

@@rosemarymckenna7100 I think everyone has their favorites. For those in the past I still think John Wayne was one of the best. However, for most recent films I think Jack Nicholson is a very good actor. He’s retired now and from what I’ve heard, which probably doesn’t mean anything, just wants to be left alone and I don’t really blame him. Also, Mel Gibson is a great actor. I know he upsets everyone but he only speaks out loud what others only think. And none of them are anywhere close to be wearing any halos. Mel is good. Very good.
