I can honestly say I have never seen a movie/show with Sanada in it that I didn't really enjoy. The guy is awesome in all roles.

Sanada san is such a versatile actor. I enjoy everything he’s in. Even if he’s the villain.

feudal japan/samurai/ninja is a timeless topic :) im so glad they spoke japanese and NOT english like in 47 ronin
@hunggamerofficial32524 жыл бұрын
Speaking English made them look so weird and kinda...stupid, no offense. Speaking Japanese make this movie more real. Also, Japan at this time is no different than China. The only difference is that they speak and use Hanzi different ways

if you pay attention to backgrounds in 47 Ronin you'll notice that outside of the focused characters on-screen the backgrounds actually speak, very faintly, Japanese. Yea, it's kinda sucks that 47 Ronin actors speak English but primarily the targeting audience is not Japan viewers, and also the off-screen Japanese gives us kind of a "focused" feeling every time someone goes on-screen.
Kudos to Thandie Newton. I'm a practitioner of Kenjutsu and I have to give her props for holding the Katana properly - check the position of her wrists. It's a detail that's often overlooked in western films

This is so extremely facinating. I can't believe I have been skipping out on this series for years now ever since I read about it first.

sanadas dedication to acting is inspiring, so what if tom cruise does his own stunts because he wants to, sanada does all his just to give it the best performance for the viewers

Cherry trees are quintessential in japanese film settings as cacti are in cowboy film settings.
I hope Westworld creators would explore more of this world if not Shogun do the Tang dynasty where Empress Wu Zetian existed. It would be exciting and do an exaggeration of Wuxia genre.

I love if westworld would do more world culture, India(hindu or muslim period), Arabia(Levant, Iraq-Khuzestan, Egypt and Arabia Peninsular), China(Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing), European(Dark Ages/400s-800s, Medieval 800s-1500s, Renaissance 1500s-1700s, Enlightenment 1700s-1850s), Malay archipelago(Malaysia-Indonesia Sumatra, Peninsular, Coastal Borneo, Sulawesi, Java and Bali, mostly Java have alot story to tell, with beautiful "stone gate called "Candi Bentar or Gapura, Javanese traditional house, Palace complex, temple/candi, early islamic javanese mosque, and old city or town of Java), Thailand(Ayutthaya and Chakrin Period, beutiful thai roof, palace and temple), Korea(Joseon Period), sub-saharan africa(Benin? Ghana? Zulu? maybe not, it hard to tell story)

They should’ve had more of Shogun World, as well as not make such a convoluted season.
Already I can see that they didn't use real "hemp" rope! The "rope" was also too thin. This is the first givaway. Also any closeups of the Shogun masks shows clearly the "stamped plastic" look and not weathered tin or other material. One has to consider the materials available in the 18th Century. Forget "cookie cutter" sharp plastic knock offs, it kills the whole show.

Nitpicking much? The overall feel was great. To each their own.
