Wasn’t it explained that Earth wasn’t their destination? And what about the mysterious aliens? Like why didn’t their superiors in their species know about the crash and rogue Whitespikes? Maybe there was a different destination and they crashed landed on earth because if they entered in a time where weapons of mass destruction or missiles wasn’t built how did they crash (How that happen?) so their superiors looked for them in where they were supposed to go and skip Earth? this has to be by far the dumbest concept for a movie ever. If people from the future come back and tell you "hey the world is going to get into a war in a few decades, and so we want you to send all your people to the future to save the few hundred thousand left alive... which country would be insane enough to agree? If they can travel back in time, wouldn't it make more sense to simply send everyone from the future to the past where they would be safe, and then prepare in the past for the coming invasion? why would you send soldiers into a terrible future where things have already gone horribly wrong when you now have a lot of time to prepare?
