Decades ago I saw Salaam Bombay..and it stunned me. It took me a while to grasp the opening scene & theme...I was very young. Mira you are an amazing, incomparable lady. Hats off to you...just last month I was asking a 64 yr old friend..."Did you ever see Salaam Bombay? I'd like to watch it again!"

You being a student of literature should use grammar properly. It is 'my brothers and I' in place of 'me and my brothers'. 'The Unsuitable Boy' was unnecessarily abridged.
