Please do yourself the treat and check out "Finsterwacht" by Saltatio Mortis. If a video takes four full days of shooting with a huge crew, there is SO MUCH for you to look at. Don't worry about German lyrics, theere are captions.

Was about to suggest Finsterwacht. But now I'd like to suggest Bastard von Asgard by Feuerschwanz instead. I think you'll like that one too. Another great one would be Wolf Totum by The HU.

@@elricthebald I effing love Feuerschwanz and that song in particular. But I have to say that from a filmmaker perspective an epic short film like Finsterwacht has more to offer.

In terms of content, Alestorm is pirates, but the exterior usually doesn't match it. This is also there stage outfit. And they probably walk around with it in their private lives too. They were created as a parody of folk metal bands. The crank thing is a hurdy-gurdy. Hence the name Patty Gurdy. When the Arabs conquered Spain, they brought string instruments with them to Europe. During the reconquest, the Spaniards replaced the bow with a disk that was turned with a crank. This makes a permanent tone possible. There are also drone strings for a permanent tone like a bagpipe and snare strings as rhythm strings. In the 10th century it spread across Europe in different variations. Patty can explain to you how it works: How EXACTLY does the hurdy gurdy work? The village should be the LARP village of Bogenwald, in Germany. These pirates also look like pirates and make a completely different kind of metal. Patty Gurdy is amazing! She is worth a look at on her own. She's German but sings mostly in English. She wrote a couple of songs for the TV show 'Carnival Row' (I'll fly for you and Grieve No More) and she has an excellent cover of 'Over the Hills and Far Away' on YT, as well as some of her original music (the best being 'One by One' and 'Run' in my opinion). Her music videos are typically set in the forest and are very ethereal and faery like.

Have you heard The Last Saskatchewan Pirate? Alestorm did a cover of it, but there's other versions.

Alestorm is an awesome band if you love pirates. For viking stuff checkout amon amarth. If you like horror movies then ice nine kills is brilliant as all there songs are about horror movies. Alestorm also do this cool thing where they put fun stuff in the captions while the solos are going on. This song has facts about frogs. Most alestoem videos have them but all From one reactor to another good luck and happy reacting
