Remember how V wanted to call someone? That's the chained phone booth in RM's short film- he never picks up. There's tons of other callbacks like that. The flaming piano (signifying Suga's demise) showed up in Jungkook's film and "interrupted" the song, while in Suga's film the car crash that Jungkook gets into is repeatedly shown throughout. Jimin eats an apple, Jin rejects the apple. J-hope sees the painting, Jimin sees the painting. J-hope was the one in Fake Love lying on the Snickers bars, and he eats one here. Tons of cool little details that really tie all of these and the storyline together, even if loosely.

I think the most important things in these short films are the symbols that represent each member and the connections between each member. For example - Apple, water = Jimin. Fire, piano = Suga. Phone booth = V. Mirrors = RM. Whistling + painting = JK. Snickers, carnival, pills, mother = Hobi. Seokjin's has all of these linked together. And so far and so forth.

In Suga's story his mom died on a fire, in J-hope's story his mom left him with a candy bar. That scene you remembered with Snickers bars was J-hope in Fake Love MV

Where was the information about sugas mom death? The piano is his "first love" and he plays on it part of "Begin" JK's song and then he hears his whistling it, so he searches for JK but it turns out it's just an echo from before the accident. So the car going into the piano symbolizes JK's accident (JK= piano=first love)

The whistling from First Love is actually from Begin if you having noticed. Also the whistling saved his life as well. If he hadn't moved from the piano he would've been hit as well. Another thing you might have missed is that in Reflection you can hear the sound of the phone ringing. If you remember in Stigma V asked the officer if he could make a phonecall. He might have called RM who didn't answer the phone. The one that was laying on top of the candy was J-hope who was abandoned in the carnival with a Snickers bar. If you remember in Fake Love the room he was in had obviously the candy and carnival rides and things related to it. For Awake the first picture it looks like a portrait of a reflection. You also mentioned the wallpaper so if you don't know about Eden and Eve, Eve was actually tricked by the serpent to eat the fruit from the tree of something ( i forgot the name🙃) that God had forbidden then to eat from. Anyways the wallpaper does look like a women with legs that look like a serpent and the women was holding the apple but it also looks like a tree in a way. I'm also glad you mentioned it because I just noticed it.

remember when we said the pairings were important? yoongi's story and jungkook's story are connected. the whistling you hear in "first love" is the same tune as in "begin". another interesting thing that someone pointed out before is that in "begin", jungkook shouted "hyung" which is an honorific for an older male figure (him calling the other 6 members) and in that exact time stamp in each short film, every one of them reacted as if they heard him. you can see that easier from watching the videos separately instead of the compilation :] - if I'm not mistaken, yoongi reacts to jungkook's call and avoids getting hit by the car, namjoon covers his ears at the same time stamp and the mirrors explode etc.

I just realized that it might be harder for you to remember all the things you saw in the past because I assume you only watch them once while recording your reaction. What made me realize that is because of all references to previous videos that you missed (assuming you would have said it out loud if you caught on). While for us ARMYs, we had time to analyze the videos while we wait for the next one back then. I was going to point things out but I’m sure others already have in the comments. 13:52 seraphim (which are like the highest ranking order of angels) can have 3+ sets of wings so that might be one of them, so yeah you would be right in thinking it is a biblical angel depiction. (thank you to my intro to art history class on Renaissance art lol) 15:30 yeah you are right it was Hobi with all the Snickers candy in the Fake Love mv. Also that pic flashes in V's eyes in the Stigma short video ans V also has a like Polaroid version of this painting with him in the On Stage Prologue

Also I'd like to add that depictions of angels in the bible are really terrifying so he was in the right track. And there's something about angels with multiple eyes and the scene has those too. But I think it might not be related to seraphins (I can't remember the exact description of a seraphim in the bible and about the eyes I just remembered because of Aziraphale from Neil Gaiman's 'Good Omens' 😅).

The whistle is also in BEGIN with Jungkook-Jungkook and Suga/Yoongi’s storyline is very interwoven bc they had a very close relationship (different people interpret it as friendship, romantic, or queerplatonic) but whatever the preference in interpretation is, they were very close and the melody that Suga/Yoongi is playing is one that he played with/for Jungkook

One overwhelming key to the entirety of Wings is that it references Hermann Hesse's book Demian and by association the philosophies of Fredrich Nietzsche. In Awake you get a major clue with the concept of Abraxas which most of us tied to Judeo-Christian/ Islamic religions are relatively divorced from if exposed at all. (save a Santana album) The hallway wallpaper was imagery of the classical depiction of Abraxas and the bird's flying upward was as the RM read passage stated. The bird which had broken out of its egg was flying to Abraxas. Now what is Abraxas? The idea of Abraxas is central to much of Wings. Like how we learn thing, Abraxas a fallen angel, in the image of a worm or snake offers the apple which is the fruit of knowledge in the setting of zero dissonance assuming compliant behavior, traditionally the Garden of Eden. But unlike how we frequently interpret it, what Abraxas is offering through knowledge is an opportunity to flower or emotionally self aggrandize. One by accepting what is outside is not relegated to the starkness of adhering to a prescribed thought system but can find the diverse and colorful forest of experience it provides. So knowledge conveyed by the apple is neither good nor bad and it is up to us to find the path through the temptations it offers.

If you go back to V's short film you see when he's interrogated he's also having flashback of his father, and when the police officer drinks water, V looks away. It reminded him of his father. He asked for one phone call, it's to Namjoon but he couldn't pick it up. The whistling in Suga's short film is the same tone as JK's solo Begin (the first short film).

Alex, each one of these short films has a making-of, behind-the-scenes video, which I think you would enjoy! I can’t remember if you’ve already seen BLOOD SWEAT & TEARS, but that video is next, as well as BOY MEETS EVIL, if you haven’t seen that yet. After that you’ll be ready for the Love Yourself HIGHLIGHT REELS, then EUPHORIA and EPIPHANY. I recommend checking one of those BU lists that gives the correct order in case I have things mixed up. If you’re ever not sure if a video is included in the BU, just check its description box and there will be a sentence that says “BU content certified by Big Hit entertainment.” Also, regarding the WINGS short films that you just watched, each one has a corresponding lyric video so you can hear the whole song (there were just snippets of each one in the films), and also there are wonderful live performances of each solo that are exciting to watch.

I'm not sure but I think the flower that Jin wanted to take picture of, was a representation of all the boys together. But before he could take the picture, the candles went off which again shows failure to bring them together. Then he burnt the flower petals (same flower) but this time, it was torn (exactly 6 petals). Petals were separated, which shows how the boys got separated and he couldn't do anything. Later those petals turn into Polaroids which again represents each boy and how Jin actually used to take pictures of them when they were together

The first polaroid is a picture of the mirror in the first scene of Awake. You only see it for a moment - it's on the wall behind the table. You can also see the blue carpet. If you pause the video at the right time, you'll see that the mirror has RM's handwriting - the same thing he wrote on the mirror in his short film. You must survive.

the first polaroid that you were confused about pictures the writing in rm's short film reflection. it says in korean "we must live/survive". this is important because jin has to save all the members from dying, but he can't do it alone. they must survive together

if you haven’t noticed yet, Jungkook and Yoongi are a pair, Namjoon and Tae, and Jimin and Hobi are a pair as well. They explained that a bit in the Wings explained video, so throughout the story, you should see each member with a pair or something that links the members together. edit: there are also like sub-pairs, which are Tae and Hobi, Jimin and Yoongi, and Namjoon and Jungkook. They are prominent in the short films because you can see a part of their story in their videos. For example in Taes short film, you see the picture of a mother and child in his eye, and in Hobi’s, you see the graffitied wall in his eye. Also not to mention that at the end, the sub pairs circles combine at the end to make something new.

Jhope's backstory is really sad when you remember that he can't finish counting frome 1-10 because of trauma. The chocolate is his antidepressant everytime he have an anxiety attack. Jin doesn't want to see them die again that's why he caged himself in the room. He always heard a voice in his said that the members need him to save them and that's the reason in the markings in the door.

I think you'll never understand completely everything because as for the story itself all we have is the notes and what they show us through the mvs/short films/trailers/etc. And it's not in a chronological order. So the story is basically a big theory of what is happening gathering all the content they show us but as for now they haven't said exactly what's going on. But I think army has made a wonderful job taking every little detail for other armys to understand. So I hope that even if you don't understand completely you still can appreciate the wonderful art they've been presenting us through the years and tbh it's one part (not the only) of what keeps us intrigued. Of course bts is more than the BU and you can keep enjoying their art even if you don't understand the BU. 💜

The wings era is entirely based on Demian's book, Abraxas is who is in the tapestry, and also V was carving it on the walls in his short film, J hope is the one who in Fake love is surrounded by snikers, since the chocolate represents his trauma but also if I remember his mother who abandoned him as a child, he and Jimin are installed in the hospital

Every story is intertwined to each other beautifully. These short films are not just films they are their solo songs. 1 Begin by Jungkook who wrote song for his hyungs (big brother like members) for making him more open up and less introvert. So some song they wrote personal stories and conncted to BU. You should check every song lyrics and story behind it.

A lot of religious references : The apple from the Garden of Eden's : Jimin in lie takes it as the story around the apple is linked to lies and deceit. Jimin is his own snake. Jin smells it and senses it is "poison" so don't take it. He is the one who is awake. Unlike Jimin, he doesn't lie to himself, he wants to know the truth. Abraxas : Mythical God from the book Demian. The snake is also a theme there. Eve : J-hope backstory is about his mom and his circle has Eva written on it. Virgin Mary : For J-hope story again you can see the painting depicting The Madonna and Child. Which is also linked to J-hope in the blood sweat and tears MV. Angel wings are also very common in BTS MVs but it's usually fallen angels and very dark versions of angels

what i find interesting about the end of awake is that the shot of the polaroids on the ground doesn’t actually fade to black. the lights go out. it’s nearly impossible to see, but the shot never actually fades all the way to black. it cuts to the white end screen instead. it’s weird and idk what it means but it’s like that for a reason lmao

Fake Love also the butterfly effect of WINGS short film. Where Jungkook saw everything like in the Begin short film Suga and the burning piano but his reaction is different Jhope lies in a bed of chocolate bar and things that can be seen in an amusement park (where his mother left him with a chocolate bar) Jimin with water Namjoon with his reflection V and the phones ( where there's a SAVE ME written on the wall but if you see it upside down it says I'M FINE) And Jin with his flower and sand time

Each shortfilm contains a sample of the solo by the member on the wings album.... and sugas contains 2... kind of... because the whistleing is the song begin by jungkook... And the songs are a really clever mix of the story of the members in the storyline and their real own story... so it's a mix of fiction and reality

Abandonment is J-hope. J-hopes mother left him in a carnival with a candy bar in his hand. Jin is feeling helpless in trying to save his members. Each time he goes back he can save one but not the others. It’s like a hardcore version of “Groundhogs Day”.

lemme help you ◻ *jin* - made a deal with the cat to save everyone, he can go back in time/create a new timeline or loop thingy. Father's the mayor. In fake love mv the flower (my theory/opinion) represents himself or his memories with the members, the explosion represents him going back in time and creating loops to save the members. He's trying to protect the 'flower' from the butterfly effect and the condition/consequences of the deal with the cat ◻ *jungkook* - he got hit by a truck & was dying so he made a deal with the cat, he thinks the driver is jin and everyone knows about it but they were "hiding" it from him to protect jin, that's why in the fake love (my opinion) he keeps watching/observing the other memebrs, he's trying to figure it out. ◻ *taehyung* - he can see jin's past through his dreams, that's why the last scene in film out mv he reached his hand to "jin's room" but he wasn't there anymore. He's aware of what's happening to jin but then it's too late. Sister and an abusive father. (my theory/opinion) In fake love mv the 'phones' or just the thing son the walls that are flashing are jin's memories. ◻ *jimin* - mentally ill that's why he's in the psych ward, he witnessed a murder and didnt do anything but ran. In his song lie it says "i cant be free from this pain, save me i am being punished" it's his conscience that's punishing him (my opinion). Drowning in the tub. In fake love: water ◻ *yoongi/suga* - music's kinda what keeps him going, he lit his room in fire (i think that was in i need u and in euphoria) His room in fake love mv, the fire explosion ◻ *jhope/hobi* - abandoned in the park by his mom, grew up in an orphan. In fake love he was surrounded with what looks like carnival rides, toys, and chocolate which i think means "childhood." In i need u he passed out because he got a sad news about the orphan he grew up in, from what i remember, the nun who raised him was sick. He thinks he's sick but he's not. There's a medical condition where a person thinks and wants to think that he/she is sick ◻ *rm/namjoon* - works at the gas station, you can see it in i need u mv and run (im not very sure about this but from what i understand, he also died from the fire when he was trying to save the kid inside the place they were staying in after he came back from his work) partner: jungkook and yoongi/suga = their fight scene in run mv (suga wanted to stay away from jk after the school drama kick out thing) jimin and jhope/hoseok = they are together in the psych ward you can see it in run mv taehyung/v and rm/namjoon = they are like the 'rebels' the vandalisms and running from the cops and all Their names in the webtoon/story (which is their real names): Kim Seokjin or Jin Min Yoongi or Min Yoonki = suga Jung Hoseok = jhope/hobi Kim Namjoon = rm Park Jimin Kim Taehyung = v Jeon Jungkook or Jeon Jeongguk = jungkook I still think that Jimin is more/knows more than what people think. When jimin and yoongi went to the guy in the ward who mentioned "map of the soul" but didn't get an answer, maybe he came back to talk to the guy and learned a few things. In the film out mv, jimin was THE ONLY ONE inside jungkook's room, he was also the ONLY ONE inside taehyung/v's room which is the yellow room. This is weird because Jin, Jungkook, and Tae were technically the only ones who knows more than the others (the cat, timeline, loops, map of the soul 7, and just all the 'fantasy' stuff). The rapline (rm, jhope, and suga) doesn't really seem to know much about them atm. Jimin kinda also represents the 'black swan' (the spread of the wings scene thingy) you can watch xcleste's bts storyline explanation in yt. It is really confusing so dont feel frustrated if you dont get it when youre watching music videos

In Jin's song during this era, the flower petals represent each of the other members that he holds in his hand. I interpret the short film as his journey to realizing that he cannot fix the problems of others by himself, and he must learn to accept the good and the bad that come in his life (represented by the bird, Abraxas).
