Halsey has a very small part on Boy With Luv because they asked her to do backup vocals pretty much last minute and she didn't have enough time to practice the korean lines (the song was already done, she replaced the alibis of one of the female producers). However, even being notified last minute, Halsey made the effort to travel so she could be in the music video, she even did her own makeup on the plane. And her presence on the music video helps convey the message of wanting to get to know someone and share quality time with them, she kinda represents ARMY in the video too. Her vocals are more prominent in the mixing of the spotify version of the song, but it's true she just sang support. Having said that, this collaboration turned out to be very sucessful and important in the sense that they became real friends and had more significant collaborations later on (musically and in performance), particularly with Suga, who has a similar emotional resonance with her (she featured him on her album Manic, then they had other collabs. Honestly, she has been very sweet to them.)

The best BTS guide out there is the one by Taylor Mari. It’s about 45 minutes long, but it gives you a good background on the group as a whole, and the history, BTS role, and start of each individual member, as well as a little about ARMY. There may be others who recommend this very long well over 2-hour video “ because it’s more up to date.” It’s jus too long as a starter video, and as an introduction you don’t need to know every solo song by every member, what they had for dinner last night, and what grades they got in college (I’m being facetious). The Taylor video stops when the group began Chapter 2 to do mandatory military service and solo projects. She plans a second video once all the members have released an album - Jin only had time to release “The Astronaut” before entering the military (he’s the oldest), but he just got out in June and is working on an album now. Anyway, “A Guide to BTS: The Bangtan 7” is the best introductory guide video we have now.
@ashleyder91644 ай бұрын
Agreed! Taylor Mari's is a little outdated but still the best!
@Imme_begin4 ай бұрын
To me that is the reactor's decision. They should be made aware of both. They are both VERY good, unless you don't want them to know about the up to date stuff. I normally recommend Taylor's Guide because of the length and it is very good, but I think it is only fair to let them know about the other one and let THEM make the decision I would never discourage anyone from watching the other one. Saying the other one is almost 3 hours is a little misleading. It is closer to 2 hrs than 3 hrs.
@OT7_DopeOldARMY4 ай бұрын
@@Imme_begin sorry, my bad. The long video is 2 hours, 19 minutes, and 18 seconds long. I believe that the long one is too long for brand new BTS reactors. Not only that, but reactors have no need to hear a ton of stuff about the second chapter of BTS before they’ve even properly learned about the first chapter. I have no idea why it’s “only fair” to tell someone about a guide that is too long. Most reactors already balk at the shorter Taylor version, and some even break that up into two and three parts. I’d 1000% rather them spend their time actually watching BTS content. It’s not that I “don’t want them to know about up-to-date stuff.” It’s that I feel like it’s putting the cart before the horse, not to mention overwhelming, to give them that much information all at once.
@vpd21214 ай бұрын
that guide isn't long because of all the unnecessary things you are talking about tho. that guide literally has clips of the members talking about their albums. it also even talks about their discography which taylor's doesn't. plus the one you said that has taken a lot of taylor's clips is not this guide. it's an older guide which was removed. this one is veryyy different from taylor's. and it's pretty interesting. don't know why ya'll are discouraging reactors from reacting to it.

"They're not going to be putting out a ton more content right now" lmaoooo oh hon that's what we thought too. We all had wonderful dreams of catching up with their old content, learning Korean, saving up for their comeback concert, etc. During their "hiatus" (starting 2022) they gave us 10 albums, several solo singles, several songs where their collabed with other artists, and I don't even want to get into the other non-music content like documentaries and tv series and behind the scenes and variety shows, etc. It's been over 100 songs at this point. My bank account has not known peace in 2 years. And it hasn't stopped lmao. For context We just got a new album last Friday (MUSE by Jimin). The end of last month we got another one (Right Place Wrong Person by RM). In March we got another an OST album (Hope On The Street Vol. 1 by J-Hope) which Hobi made for his street dance docuseries he made called Hope On The Street. And soon we'll be getting another series with Jimin and Jungkook going on vacation together to NYC, Japan and Jeju Island. Jin is currently working on his album to come out this year. I promise that new stuff will always keep coming. It's a miracle ARMY isn't more broke since all of this comes with merch too. They worked really hard to prepare things for us while they did their military service so we couldn't be more grateful.

Boy With Luv is no ordinary love song. Its a love song only for ARMY. Its a song to deliver BTS love and gratitude towards ARMY, thats why they repeatedly talked about "you give me the wings so I could fly so high. But I want to get closer to you, fly towards you with the Icarus wings you gave me" (omg im tearing up writting this). Halsey had to be there, she represents ARMY and in spotify she's singing the last chorus :) the whole album Map Of The Soul: Persona, is dedicated for ARMY 🥰 The Korean title for the song is "A poem for small things", and based on the lyrics of this song, we are the “small things” in this world. BTS references themselves as small, as well as ARMYs and people who live their own daily lives with our own little universes. Thats why at the beginning of the song the lyrics ask "hows your day? Tell me" "what makes you happy?", "I want to know all about you, your 1 your 2". They ask for our habits, interests, what we're doing etc as small things as well.

He was a student and lover of original hiphop (most k rappers only study other idols for the aesthetic) and immersed himself in the cultural meaning of what it is to be a hiphop artist. His song Joke was a diss track and clap back at those who thought he was low-hanging fruit, and it's full of so much word-play, idioms, and double-entendre burns there are whole explanation videos that don't even cover all of it. Hello, I'm a 47-year-old Brazilian ARMY. Thank you for your reaction to our boys! I must tell you that it is very common to hear reports of people describing how they “found” BTS in their lives, how important it was, how much they needed them and everything they represented, even when these people didn't even know they needed them. I am part of that large group of fans who discovered support, help or support in some way through their music, messages, struggles and achievements. I became a widow after a traffic accident where a truck went the wrong way, hit our car and my husband died instantly. This happened after a relationship of almost 23 years and I was going through a depressive process. We didn't have children and my husband represented everything to me, he was my friend, my lover, my love, my father, my brother, we worked together, a true walking companion. I can't talk about important moments in my life in which he wasn't a part and his absence left a huge void. I found myself completely lost and disoriented, as if the best part of me had also died with him. By chance, to distract me, my mother (who was already a fan) showed me a performance from one of BTS's shows. I don't know how to explain it exactly, but all that energy touched me deeply. From that moment on, every time I listened to his music or watched his videos, I somehow connected and identified with his messages. BTS became a kind of model of optimism for me, giving me strength and love. I believe that the group's fighting trajectory contributed profoundly to their growth, the construction of what they are today and the special connection they have with their ARMYs. These boys are not perfect, just like all human beings, nor do they pretend to be. But they are extremely talented and determined human beings, who give us examples every day of humility, charity, attention, dedication and love for others. True angels on Earth who inspire and encourage us to overcome our struggles, moving forward with gratitude and empathy. They give us much more than just music or entertainment. They share their lives with fans in the most diverse situations, not only in happy moments, but also in sad or vulnerable moments, allowing us to easily identify and relate to them. That's why I celebrate your achievements and share your joys and sadness. I am very grateful to God for putting these boys in my path at the worst moment of my life. It was like the flame of a candle burning in the darkness. For a long time I didn't feel like smiling and when I did it was only to please those who love me (my family or friends). However, when I see them my smile comes easily, without effort and almost without realizing it. It may seem exaggerated and incomprehensible to many people, but they subtly "touched" my heart. To this day, I have extreme difficulty sleeping, even when I'm on medication. At first, I stayed awake for 3 whole days and now I sleep listening to your music. Over time, we become convinced that everything is not over and we seek the strength to move forward. It's still difficult, a daily challenge, but I feel better every time I see them. And in the process they became my daily dose of joy and encouragement. Sorry for the long comment. I will follow your journey with BTS. And get ready because we will have the opportunity to laugh a lot and maybe even cry. But we will be together. 💜🇧🇷💜🇧🇷💜🇧🇷💜🇧🇷💜🇧🇷💜🇧🇷💜

Speaking of deep lore, Bts were actually the ones who started the whole storyline in their MVs that groups such as Ateez and Txt do now. There was nothing like it in kpop before, such as telling their story their music considering companies were still extremely strict on what music the idol would put out (basically 0 creative freedom). They're truly amazing and one of a kind artists that have inspired many groups to follow their kind of 'formula.' When you start getting to know them more I'd suggest checking out Boracity Magazine's video of trends that bts started, it's pretty interesting. Also RM stands for Real Me now. There's nothing wrong with his name and with you as a nonfan, it will come off as rude to some for calling him by his name considering you don't know him and you aren't an actual stan. This is just a heads up, some are sensitive to this as antis like to call bts by their names. It's a lot to explain but ARMYs are pretty overprotective due to how other groups, fans of other groups, and the korean industry continues to treat bts to this day.

Welcome! So glad you enjoyed these songs. We are happy to have you here. I recommend that you watch their NPR Tiny Desk concert because they do three live songs, (this doesn't usually get copywrited) and the vocals are top-tier. The other thing is that all the members (except Jin, but we expect one from him soon) all have solo albums out, and all of their solo albums are so diverse and also incredible. I highly recommend all of them. (Jimin just dropped his second album Muse 💜) The best introductory guide out there is the Intro Guide by Taylor Mari. Jin (the oldest) has just finished his military commitment and J-Hope will be done in October. It's so cool that you are an Atiny because there is so much about K-pop that you already understand (like the sexy beat with the sad lyrics thing). In terms of lyrics, you will see a big difference between the songs BTS writes (the majority of their songs) and the ones they get from others (this includes all their English-only songs). You are right about all of their voices being distinct but still blend so well together. About Boy With Love - the Korean title of this song is A Poem for Small Things, and it means that it's talking about all of the small mundane things that you love about someone, and how you want to know all the details of their life. I think it is more beautiful in Korean. From what I understand, Taehyung picked his stage name as standing for V for victory. Hoseok picked J-Hope because he said he wanted to bring hope. The other members also call him Hobi for short. Yoongi picked Suga from his favorite basketball position - shooting guard. Yoongi also uses the name AgustD for his solo stuff. AgustD is Suga backward plus DT for Daegu Town, where he is from. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Please don't be scared of ARMY, I swear we're not as bad as people depict us sometimes lol we're just a big fandom and you can find some bad apple like in any other fandom, if this will happen to you just block them, but we're actually famous to be a super welcoming fandom. People who respect music, art and idols are our friends, whatever their main fandom is💜 For the fact that you confuse some of the members, is totally normal, don't need to be sorry! I'm sure most people had similar experiences, you'll be able to recognize them just like ATEEZ as you'll gradually know them better through their music and videos. Can't wait to watch more of your reactions💜

To start with I had trouble telling Jimin and J-Hope apart - especially from certain angles. Then you get to the point where you recognize their eyes, lips, nose, back, even their butt (yes, there are KZbin quizzes for that). It's perfectly normal.

You're very sweet, I loved the reaction. Aside from the guide (the one by Taylor Mari), I would recommend their Tiny Desk Concert. They do Dynamite and two other songs you most likely haven't heard, Save Me and Spring Day (the later one is called the queen by the fans and despite being release all the way back in 2017, it's still on Korean charts). It is a live performance but from what I've seen people were able to react to it no problem. That or the 2021 Festa Room Live performance seem to be probably the safer live performances to react to. And as far as a Run BTS episode goes, I think the flying Yoga one would be a solid choice 😆. Also, Jimin released a new album and the single is called Who, so you might react to that too if you want.

Yeah ARMY can be intimidating but understand it’s only to people who deserve it. As long as newcomers are open minded and respectful, there’s gonna be no problems. It’s when people are cruel and mocking for no reason that we get our backs up. I haven't seen your reaction yet, but let me tell you one thing. If your comments are respectful and sincere, that's enough for us. People have different tastes, so, not every song can be liked by everyone, right? (In my case, I like every single song I've already heard from their huge discography:-) I'm 67, so, don't think it's the opinion of a screaming girl, ok? Oh! I recommend you react to videos from Enjoy BTS More channel, it belongs to an Army who put English subtitles on BTS videos. Good translations with culture explanations when it's necessary. Color code videos not always have good translations, ok? Lyrics are one of the main factors to understand and like BTS. Most of them are deep and meaningful. It's very difficult to listen to a song and not to think about it. Another important factor is diversity! I can listen to them the whole day not getting bored! You know? The original version of Mic drop is excellent, when I heard by the first time the Aoki remix I didn't like it :-) but now I'm used to listen to it. Other songs that I think will be good to you appreciate: On, Dope, Black Swan, Fire, Idol, Airplane pt2... oh! it's so difficult not writing all their more than 400 titles hehehe Oh! First of all, watch BTS Festa Room, where they sing parts of some b-sides from diverse albums. You will understand what I mean with "diversity' hehehe and you can appreciate Jimin's (and other members') high notes. 🙂 Thanks for your reaction! I love to see you liked them... prepare to love them hehehe... to me, they are my daily smiling pill 🙂

I’ll give some info on their names: Namjoon’s stage name used to be Rap Monster 😂 but now RM stands for Real Me. He changed the meaning as he grew out of that persona and started to be himself. There’s probably a better and more deep explanation for it but I gave you the simple one 😂😂 V stands for Victory Suga is for Shooting Guard, he loves basketball. J Hope’s name is related to the Pandora Box, hope represents optimism and resilience to overcome challenges. So basically BTS began as hiphop group. They have loads of loads song such as micdrop or even hardcore.. RM and Suga are literal underground rappers. You will be shocked their raw distracks from rapline cyphers. The songs now you listen are more poppy and mainstream for popularity reasons but their bside tracks are crazy. Alos their behold their pen game is strong , you have to watch explanation videos for most part. BTS are og story liners. They have diverse genre and each of them have unqiue sounds and vocal ranges . If you dive into members solo works you will be shocked how different their styles are. All these diverse colours makes their group unique and inspirational. Also don't worry armys are sweet, sure there are toxic ones because its given with such a big fandom . Armys are usually protective when it comes to the boys because BTS did suffer a lot , more than any kpop group now to achieve their success and fame. Do watch their guide and their hardships and struggle video. You will understand a lil bit why armys are the way they are but its mostly one hella strong fam. Welcome to the boraland

I agree with everything you said except that their songs are more poppy for popularity now. I think if you've been following their journey for a while , you will know that bts does not skimp on authenticity. They have constantly experimented with sound and style while still being themselves and continue to represent youth and give messages of love and hope. So yes there has been major shift in sound but it is not only for the purpose of increasing popularity.

@@ParKbgtn7She's not meaning the guys THEMSELVES literally made a vocal decision & chose to it to increase popularity. We know they don't agree to conceeeding outright to anything they don't believe in💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 But....You have to understand what all artist are often guided toward & required to do, some with realizing.. but other tines fully aware... even when already mega famous, in order to STAY famous. It is the BUSINESS. Mainstream , catchy, easy to sing along to light fun predictable music is what always gets the most airplay on radio & charts the most. Dynamite , Boy With luv , & later Butter, were all fun very sweet, but also yes catchy & mainstream light songs thst barely showcased the guys full talents at all. The dancing? YES! And omg they're live performance at the Grammy 's of Butter was freaking historical! But the SONG itself is not a very good representation of the full range of the vocal line, and definitely barely shows how gritty and raw the rapline is. Someone could create an album with lots of awesome music with deep meaningful songs & light pop bubblegum tunes, and the light stuff is what ALWAYS gets the most attention. Whether because the artist themselves truly conceded to it, or the powers that be decide thst THEY will only play /produce the lighter stuff. But also still, whether you understand it or not, sometimes concessions even if in small degrees, ARE pretty much Canon in the entertainment business. Artist are inevitably at some point or another required to sometimes have to do a lil of wgat they may not necessarily want to get where they want to go. I say this to you aa a woman from a very music family who sings myself aa do my sisters, niece, aunt, etc; and who has many relatives, & long time family friends, in many facets of entertainment from being in the business or who work for stars in Hollywood: from actors & models & singers, to interior decorators to vocal coaches celebrities. The business is not one thst EVER allows ANYONE to ALWAYS put out exactly onmy the content they themselves choose. It's wrong but that just the way it is. @ParKbgtn7 I meant say to songs like dynamite and boy in luv. But even those don't divert from the theme of the albums. It fits perfectly. Yes I been following them, and they did experiment with their music more than anyone else, and they still do. It's their versatility. Actually members did state why the songs are poppy and catchy in that era..later remember how RM described about butter, he said its just a summer vibe song and nothing more...a song for fun and happy feels during covid.. they do songs that way too....song being mainstream is part of the reason not just one reason ..regardless BTS are brilliant in a way to promote themselves. There is a lot of stuff that goes behind to make things work to reach more audiences, especially the general people, and you know how many people became armys in such way like you stumble upon a mainstream song and dig gold with bsides.. yet bts makes the title song to bside track stay in the same theme and concept... not everybody can do it . That's why no other K-pop group is like BTS

They uses phrases like "with the wings you gave me" and "we're flying so high now". They always credit their success to ARMY. They write letters that they read out loud thanking ARMY and cry while reading them. They have often talked about wanting their relationship with ARMY to be a two way street....they are interested in our lives and want to know more about us. The thing that has struck me most since becoming ARMY 5 years ago is their constant reinforcement of their appreciation of their fans. Thank you for diving into some BTS content

Welcome to the rabbit hole!Yeah, BTS grabs you sometimes. It's crazy. I'm glad you seems to be enjoying the music. Don't hesitate to pause when you feel you need to. It's your journey and your reaction. And we WANT to hear what you have to say. That's the point of a reaction, in my opinion. Everyone has a freash perspective on the content, and that's what I love to hear. And while you are correct that most of the members are in the military (Jin just came out last month, and J-Hope will be coming back in October), they are somehow still releasing content for us. RM released his second solo album a few mo ths ago, after he enlisted, and Jimin also dropped a second album just last week. We also have documentaries and a rravel variety shows coming up. They pre-recorded a ton of material with the intention to release it after they left, to keep us occupied so we don't miss them as much. But ignoring that, yes, it's a great time to catch up. The Guide by Taylor Mari people have mentioned is a very good one. It's accurate as of May 2022, so before the members started releasing their own solo content (what we lovingly refer to as "Chapter 2"). It's a very good place to start if you want to learn a bit more about the members themselves. It's mostly text, so feel free to pause to read if you feel you need to. One thing I love recommending to newbies is the 2021 Festa Room Live. It's a live performance video they released for their 8th anniversary where they perform a medley of b-side tracks (amazing b-sides by the way) from their albums over the years. It's a really nice way to see the true variety of styles in their music. Plus, BTS was born to perform live and they sound amazing. I highly recomend it. Hi! Thank you for checking out our boys. 💜 They truly have so many genres that it's nearly impossible not to find at least one song in their discography to suit anyone's taste. As for recommendations, it depends on the approach you want to take. Most reactors tend to start with Black Swan, On (Kinetic Manifesto version), DNA, Fire, Idol, Spring Day, Blood Sweat and Tears, etc. Others want to start from the beginning and do full album reactions through their entire discography so they can watch their growth, while some check out each member's solo projects before diving into group songs. However you choose to take your journey, you can't go wrong. A good way to get answers to a lot of your questions is to watch a guide. The most popular is The Bangtan 7 by Taylor Mari. It will bring you current prior to their solo project era (mid 2022). As I'm sure you're aware, they will not resume group activities until 2025 due to SK mandatory military service. Borahae! Edit: You commented several times that you really liked Tae's voice, you may want to check out his solo album. It's called Layover and he has a music video for every song!

For me, as an Asian-American, it felt like a shift had occurred that I didn't realize could be possible: to see ppl who looked similar to me, not speaking English, being lauded in the western media/pop culture spaces, and not being just a one-off phenomena to check off a diversity trend list.

Thank you for listening to BTS. I am glad you liked what you heard and saw. Couple of things of interest- BTS write and compose most of their own songs (it's been that way from the beginning). They have a discography of over 400 songs. They contribute to producing, designing, choreography, etc. They have received over 1400 awards over the 11 years since their debut. Regardless of all that they have remained kind, humble and generous (and hilarious). Their accomplishments have been hard fought as they have met with A LOT of hate and jealousy. And sadly it still continues to this day. I would love for you to watch On Kinetic Manifesto, Black Swan and Airplane Part 2. Added to those you already watched, they will give you an idea of their diversity. And the rap lines Cyphers are amazing. And don't even get me started on all their solo work. They spoil ARMY!! Boy With Love was my first introduction to BTS and there after K-pop. I was in a deep mid pandemic depression. I had stopped listening to mainstream radio because of the constant covid updates. I only listened to classical music radio as it was mostly music. I was on You Tube and the thumbnail for Boy With Love popped up. I had been ignoring all suggestions KZbin threw at me but the bright colours and the feature of Halsey made me click. I was instantly entranced by the singing, the dancing and even the rap and felt like I was being revived. You can pause, you can sing along, you can nerd out, we are here to watch you react, if we want to listen to the original we can do it ourselves, anybody who gets mad at the person reacting is kinda being stupid cus that was the whole point of the video, to watch another person's reaction, so get comfy pookie

ARMY thought this was the time to catch up on old content because the boys were all enlisted and we thought things would surely slow down. WE WERE WRONG. 😂 The amount of content they have put out in the last two years has been crazy!! They had lots of group content saved for us, and then the solo works started happening and the pace has never slowed down. They did so much strategy, planning, recording before beginning their enlistment, it’s surely going to be studied by other labels for years to come.

Yeahhhhh! We all thought they wouldn’t be releasing music while in the military! I thought, Great, I can finally find out about TXT and Mamamoo. No such thing! They all recorded a bazillion things before they went and are regularly releasing stuff even though 6 are still in the military. Jin just came back In June. Jimin just got a No 1 on the UK Top 40 with his track ”WHO” from his newly released Album ‘Muse’. If you think his vocals are amazing in Dynamite, the songs on ‘Muse’ will blow your socks off.

Nooo don't be scared of us! We're nicer than people say we are, but with such a huge fandom, all the dramatic and mean ones stand out more 🥲 I will admit though, that we can be intense. But for good reason lol I'm happy you still gave them a chance though...and feel that Tae Tae is gonna be a problem lmao They're such wonderful guys with such meaningful lyrics!

ARMY are not scary. We are just protective of BTS because of all the hate they have received. If you are honest and respectful, ARMYs will be the same. You do not have to pretend to love everything. There are, unfortunately, still fans of other groups who pretend to be ARMY and give us a bad name 😢 I thoroughly recommend watching a live performance of Singularity - V will kill you! Also the live performance of Dimple and Pied Piper back to back - that is unbelievable. Jimin's solo song live performances of Serendipity, Lie and Filter will floor you. There are versions with Eng subs. Their Tiny Desk Home Concert is incredible. Also the Official B side MV for Dynamite and the Hotter Remix of Butter MV show you their goofier side. They are a adorable. Oh yes, welcome to BTS and ARMY! I hope you react to more.....

Hey! Thank you for reacting to BTS! (I accidentally found your channel and binge watched the txt videos till I got here lol) If you want to react to music even it they don’t have an MV, I would definitely recommend “paradise” (from their album Love Yourself HER) its lyrics are so beautiful and always makes me cry 😅 Hope to see you learn more about them! 💜💜💜

So recommendations - I would start you with more of the biggest songs, Blood, Sweat and Tears, Black Swan, ON (recommend Kinetic Manfesto version so as not to get hung up on storyline), Fire, Idol, Save Me and the QUEEN of all BTS songs Spring Day. She is very meaningful to Armys and to SK overall so take your time with her. There is the account Bookish Theories that does explanations for alot of BTS and other group MVs. They have so much content. Start with hearing some more songs and then get into a guide. I'm sure other Armys will recommend good ones. There's 2 that I like and I'll try to get those later. What a journey you're about to take...life changing really.

new viewer. fyi- fake love is about the relationship between ARMY according to their book. knowing this hits us harder. I saw the TARDAS...my fav Doctor is Baker and new installment is Smith. Content: "They are enlisted in the military so they aren't putting out much content." Ma'am.. WE ARE DROWNING in content POST enlistment.
