Not only is this game amazing from a filmmakers standpoint, but also from a writers standpoint. It’s easy to have a hero and a villain oppose each other, but neither Jin or Lord Shimura are necessarily in the wrong. They are simply two warriors who’s paths happened to cross on opposing sides, and storytelling like that is admirable.

William as always has amazing insight and knowledge. The Khotun Khan fight is also a masterwork of filmmaking because you want Jin the Protagonist to win so badly, that you're surprised when it's impossible to win the boss fight. And it makes sense because in reality, Jin right before this fight, had been exploded, partially set on fire, seen literally all his friends get murdered, and get shot with multiple arrows, and Yuna "patched him up", giving him the most basic first aid even for the time period. So you've got a guy on his last leg, running purely on willpower and the need to avenge his people against a well-rested leader of an entire invading force. No way you were ever going to win.
