I'd like to add to what Vibha has said..... Guys, those are putting on negative comments, under what is acting as a school of learning right now, you need to be ashamed of yourselves. You definitely are not showing signs of a good student. A good student never judges his teacher just on the basis of his appearance. They have such knowledgeable stuff that I am pretty sure, half of these guys won't even know. Go to any film school, get ripped out of yoyr budget and listen to the same thing, if that's what make you happy. But if you are here to learn, be a student guys. Remember, these guys are where you are still not and with this attitude, can never be. So, empty yoyr cups that are filled with such negativity and let some positive learning come in. Be thankful to what chance of learning you guts are getting.

Well, thank you so much. These are the people who get roles in the industry just bcoz they are related to someone. Why I said all that is because despite being talented, I haven't gotten any chance to prove myself. May be it was the inner want speaking but hey, no matter what, a teacher is a teacher.

1. Don't pay too much attention to details 2. Write the dialogues as it is not formal 3. Consider the objects that you have access to for filmmaking 4. Consider the locations that you can shoot your film 5.a cheap movie is never fast and a fast one is never cheap 6. Always write your script to see the whole image 7. 4 things you should do for actors : feed them , pay for the gas , pay them credit , give them a copy of the film 8. Good pre production leads to saving dollars 9. Sometimes actors can't deliver the lines but they show the emotion 10. Good Film = good story , good acting , good production 11. The quality of the camera is important

To be honest the most important aspect of the film is the story, and will always be the story. Think of it this way, the lecture may be filmed badly, but it's the content that matters-it's the story-and I think it was kinda impractical to bring full equipment on this venue. I'm pretty glad that I've watched this lecture; I've learned so many things. Best regards.
@whiterabbit5491
@whiterabbit5491 8 жыл бұрын
I think I agree with that. for instance, the film dancer in the dark wasn't filmed very well, perhaps because of low budget, but the story and the feelings they give you in the film because of the plot are still powerful and meaningful, ones that will make you remember the film. I also feel that Bjork acting as the main character in the film had to do with it giving deep emotions too though, because I really don't think the film would have been the same withought her. she did a phenomenal job acting, and really expressed amazing emotion in parts that were probably the most difficult. in fact, I think the scenes she acted best in were the most difficult ones.
@ablaze1989
@ablaze1989 7 жыл бұрын
I disagree, The most important aspect of the film is the intent of the film, Something like fantasia there is little to no plot for the overall movie, that show was more about the matching of the fantastic animation and music, in a musical the story plays second seat to the music numbers and only serves as a way to link the songs in the basic since of the genera, In character drama the story or plot play second seat again as the focus is on the characters and not so much the story (think breakfast club) So the most important part of a film or what ever medium is the focus of your project.

On the topic of editing, have your students to view 'How Star Wars was saved in Editing'- here of course. The differences in Lucas' vision verses that of a talented, seasoned editor, is mind-blowing. In retrospect, visiting something that made history (for some), to now know the original vs the final cut as we know it, is to know editing at its best for the genre. There are high-budget movie flops where amateurs fix bwo simple editing. It is amazing that studios do not revisit their even-bill productions and revisit using this Rule-of-6 in such a way to warrant a soft re-premier or on something like Netflix or like services. There are plethora of great movies out there that only failed due to poor marketing; these deserve a soft re-premier as well.

Very informative video. Forget all the negative comments from people that have nothing to offer but negativity, and asinine remarks. If all you can base your negative comments on is lighting and sound. You are missing much of the valuable content in this video. Really! Any idiot knows you can't show a slide show or a projector with bright lighting. This just a lecture. Everything begins with the basics. If you don't learn that then you'll probably learn a few tricks, but you'll never become a master of anything. If you already know all of this, then I see no need to make disparaging comments. Just move on and let others try to expand their knowledge.
