Josh, Emily, everybody at Film Riot thanks for entertaining me for the last seven years, when at times I have been barely able to crawl (not walk)from my bed to the loo or open some tinned animal food to eat! And Josh most dog food and even better cat food (which has to be meat) is actually fine to eat its usually human food that failed quality checks. Cat food makes amazing curries and chillies because cat food needs to be cooked throughly to make it safe, which works with curries & chillies. I just wish there was a way I could say thank you for all that you have done for me.

The power of soundly is that if you have bought sound effect libraries elsewhere or a sound designer who records their own foley & sound effects as well you can import your sounds alongside their audio files so if you don’t find what you are looking for record it yourself & add to library so next time it will be there

I haven't been keeping up with the show as much recently, as my own video production business has been keeping me extremely busy. Just wanted to pop in and say 1. the show is as great and funny as ever and 2. My business wouldn't be where it is today without the constant motivation this show gave me. Its been amazing to watch all of you grow as filmmakers and all of you constantly inspired me to do more! I have followed you since I was a kid in high school trying to make zombie movies and now I own my own business with 4 employees. There are plenty of people who have helped along the way but watching your content has constantly showed me whats possible and pushed me to do more. Thank you for all you have done for your community!

On multitools: You can get them with a collection of screwdriver bits that fit into a socket on them. The advantage is that you get the tiny screwdriver and the big one. If you are careful about the one you buy, you can get one where extra bits can be bought at the hardware store so you can stock bits for the sizes you need.

Ok. Want a piece of gear I love and no one uses? (Or, at least, no one seems to use it as much as we do here.) The Zhiyun Transmount. It’s a small, round adapter is designed to help you pop off the mini legs on the Crane 3 Gimbal. But…if you get spares, you can drop the female mount on all sorts of other things to make it super fast to mount to gimbal elsewhere. So we have the mounts on monopods, tripods, car mounts, painters poles, etc. And then we put one between the Sony A73 and the gimbal plate making it way easier to swap the camera on & off with the added bonus of raising the camera tiny bit so it’s easier to swap out batteries without remiving the plate and having to rebalance. And it doesn’t have to be only with Zhiyun gimbal. We use it to easy pop on & off our Small HD monitor on a CineAlta camera. Rubber padds hold things tight. Small and cheap. Awesome little things. Thanks guys. Love the channel. Congrats on the 1000+.

Gaff tape. Cheap, you can use it to mark spots for actors, does not mar surfaces. Foam board for bounces. Wedges or make-up brushes to get shine off faces. A keychain AAA flashlight. And keychain knife. Basic first aid kit. Needle and thread kit for wardrobe malfunctions, safety pins. Sandbags for safety. (Spray paint your logo on 'em.) Water. Plenty of water. Plus ice chest. Extra copies of script. Actors can be dumb and forget things. Spare call sheets, ditto. Best mic you can afford. Separate cheap point-n-shoot camera for scripty to take shots of every set up. Which way was that coffee mug facing? Just ask scripty. I bought a nice one for $125. Cell phones can work but they ring, get mixed up, dropped, etc. Camera works great! Personal data recorder as a backup for your wireless system. I have the Tascam DR 10L. Runs 10 hours on one card, one battery, has saved my rear end several times. Make up a log sheet for scripty, she can log sound takes, lens focal length, speed, apature to reproduce shots. A must have if can get one (scripty, that is). Model/performance release, for goodness sake. Job's not done till the paperwork's done.

Since software is taken into account on this list, I'd like to add Shotput Pro is invaluable to make sure all your card transfers are verified and safe. They also include a tidy breakdown (with stills) of the transferred footage with each transfer.

That action pod thing is a must-have for me. I found it in an old film riot episode where you guys used it to attach a recorder to a boom pole. That's how I use it now. I also have one for a small aputure light and I'll often use either one to either hold a light a little bit higher or run around with my audio recorder to capture foley... Almost like how Casey Neistat uses a gorilla pod as a sort of selfie stick.

I remember buying those aerosol cans a few years back but it was like 40 bucks including fees to import to France. In the end I started vaping around the same time I needed some haze, compared the two and ended up with a much cooler haze through my vape than the can. So morale of the story, always have a vaping friend on set. #protipsyoudidntknowyouneeded

On a more Serious note, the gear that you guys recommend is some of the best for what I do and the scale that I exist within. Having done two short films and working on a third at the moment, you guys and seriously laid the path down for me and have greatly enabled me with some great knowledge to carry with me through out my film making endeavors.
