I was at the filming of this episode. It was delayed a day because Dick Van Dyke had a cold. If you notice he rubs his nose after passing out the gum. Maybe his nose was running because he did this often when not on camera.

@cherylcampbell9369 I was an audience member and we all showed up to be told he was ill and to come back the next day. Fortunately he was well enough to film then.
