Films from the Archives: Impressions of the Hudson’s Bay Company - January 27, 7 p.m.
Archivists from the Archives of Manitoba will introduce three films from the Hudson’s Bay Company Archives at this next film night. These films include footage created for “Romance of the Far Fur Country” in 1919 to commemorate the Company’s 250th anniversary (in 1920), the design and construction of the replica ship, “Nonsuch”, in 1968, and “Impressions”, a striking film made to celebrate the Company’s 300th anniversary in 1970.
