My father makes a good joke about Bruce Willis. He goes. "you want to see Bruce willis?" and then he squints his eyes almost like he's doing a Clint Eastwood impression, and I've told him......being a monster comic book fan and film fan (did film school) I've mentioned how some great actors do just do themselves, and it works in movies and Bruce Willis is one of them, I like to use Christopher Walken as an example. Walken does Walken in dramas, action, and comedy and no one complains, Willis is tha guy too. In a way, so is Sam Jackson. Un breakable to ME was the opener to super hero films being told for adults to enjoy, but M. Night is either great or fucking awful. This is so close to Split, so I'm scared, but I hope it's great.

Personally while I love some of his early stuff I have to wonder why anyone still allows M. Night to make movies anymore. That would be like hiring Jared from Subway to babysit your kids for you. As I said, some of his early stuff was great, but he has destroyed so many movies since then it's sad, I mean look what he did with The Last Airbender, a franchise that should, and could have been making billions off it's movies and it took him one film to slaughter it. The material was all there, all he had to do was adapt it to the big screen, and it's massive fan base, ranging from young kids to adults, would have flocked to see it, it could have made Star Wars look like a small release, but nope, he blew it........ BADLY!

He used to be a 50-50 , now he's moving up towards 70-30 of really good movies. This guy is really weird. Unbreakable was simply a masterpiece primarily due to the subtle stoytelling and direct reference to comic books. I am one of those who paved the way for comic books to thrive on the big screen and have been a keen collector from 9 or 10 right through to my 40's. I just hope this movie doesn't get the marvel treatment and become a CGI bonanza as Unbreakable proved that you don't need to long before Marvel sold it's soul to the Devil with mouse ears.

Well don't expect David Dunn to win this. If they are going to make this a series (I hope so) with more sequels then Glass should be the man in this one! As seen in the trailer we will have a great scene with David vs. the Beast however Glass will thrive by using them for greater evil
@rapisor5 жыл бұрын
Well, I, for one, hope this does not become a convuluted miserable gratuitous series. I hope Shyamalan leaves a great trilogy as his legacy. Everyone knows his last 3 or 4 movies before Split are terrible.
@Alfamoto85 жыл бұрын
Well I hope he won't let us down. The whole idea is the exact opposite as it doesn't fall in this category (miserable series). All three movies, till now, are oriented towards a more mature audience. One movie for each one of the main characters, so at least a fourth movie should be ok to close the series with a grand finale!!!
@RenegadeShepard695 жыл бұрын
Alfamoto8 I agree with you to an extent. I think he should leave it as a trilogy and revisit the universe later on with other characters as the main lead, so that way he can expand this creative way of telling a superhero story without being bound by the same characters of dunn, glass, and beast. It was perfect for the development of kevin to have a movie without the other two just for him, and that could be repeated with the next "hero" to appear on a later movie. Idk, I like the idea of loose stories tied by a shared universe more than a continued saga.
@miliboy05225 жыл бұрын
I actually think the beast is going to kill Mr. Glass. M. Night always has something up his sleeve.
@gentryharms94825 жыл бұрын
I think the far more likely scenario is that Glass overestimates his control of The Beast and gets killed by him. Then, after some epic fight between The Beast and David in a pool or something (remember, his "kryptonite" is water), David will kill The Beast. The "twist" will be that more people with powers start coming forward on both sides of the good/evil spectrum once they see this fight play out on the news. And likely one will be someone already in the story......maube even old Glass' mommy there?

SOOO EXCITED FOR THIS!! M. Knight is pure genius. Willis & Jackson are classics & both absolutely brilliant actors. But McAvoy is on another level. He brings out each of those personalities so seamlessly it's almost scary. It's a crime he hasn't won several awards for Split. Can't wait for 2019! #peebee&jellysandwhich
