This is the first time I "really" used KZbin as a "how to" guide. Initially the pace seemed slightly slow. But I kept watching and stayed engaged and I was slightly amused. So there's an entertaining, quirky dude that educates us about the full potential of appliances we own and how to care for them. In less than 15 minutes my Dyson was repaired, I learned a maintenance routine and I was entertained. Winning!

Thanks for the video. It took me a while to understand that the vacuum needs to be EXTREMELY clean in order to work properly. It took months of frustration to really get this through my thick skull, but in my defense, no other vacuum I've ever used has been so fickle. My wife and daughter both have long, straight black hair that constantly falls on the floor, in the shower, etc, and it always takes 5 minutes of playing with the vacuum before it works. It's like a minor miracle when it finally turns on, and the entire thing is full of hair, dirt, etc after just a few minutes of use. The filter is the one thing I haven't cleaned recently, so let's give it a try! Thanks for showing the steps.

If you accidentally hit the trigger when you're emptying the bin it cakes the filter in dust just like yours. You can prevent this by loosening the filter before you empty the bin, that disables the motor, and your filter will stay clean for longer.

Merci à l'avance de me répondre. Hello David. Over time dust particles and other microscopic particles can build up in the filter which cannot be removed anymore with washing the filter. This can reduce the performance or lead to a situation like yours. I recommend to replace this filter with a new one. I suggest to get an original Dyson filter and not a no-name filter from Amazon. The filter for the V15 costs around $30 at Dyson.com.

Sorry, but I followed your cleaning instructions to the Letter on my V10, still pulsing, still showing a blockage, there is no other way inside to see if there’s a blockage , I even went to the length of buying another filter, still same result!, I had a Vax Cyclone before this for six years, never put a foot wrong, no filter to wash, had ten meters of flex, could Hoover the House from top to bottom from one plug in point!, I bought this Dyson V10 on merit, supposed to be so efficient, and it was, but this pulsing should’ve been easier to sort, and indeed on the one you showed us your solution worked, well, not mine, I’ve done all I can short of taking it to bits which I don’t want to do, sorry Dyson, your V10 has let me down. If it had been simpler to clean internally it would’ve been perfect, im thinking of going back to a Vax , a corded Vax even, I liked the Dyson, but this has dented my faith it.🤥

Is it allowed to blow-dry the filter?
@Woopnik3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you may use a hair dryer. You have to be very careful not to scorch the filter. Set the hair dryer on the "Low" setting and plug in the dryer power cord, if you need to vacuum sooner than 24 hours. Hold the filter four inches away from the dryer and blow dry the filter. Continue moving the blow dryer back and forth over the filter to prevent scorching the filter. Turn the filter over and dry the other side in the same manner. Dry the filter housing in the same manner as the filter. Do not put the filter and housing into the Dyson vacuum until they are completely dry. I hope that I was able to help. Have a great day. 😀👍

Hello Sakshi. Sorry to hear that your Dyson is not behaving well. Before I can help you I need to ask you a few questions. Which Dyson V10 do you own? Where you live is it hot and sandy like in a desert or rather moist with lots of water? Do you use your Dyson mostly on carpet or mostly on hardwood floor? Have you tried to replace the filter? I would definitely not wash the filter after every cleaning. For my videos I keep my filter on the dirty side, but even then the filter indicator does not come on. I will get back to you. Greetings from Los Angeles 😀

And do you remember what the last material was you cleaned up with your Dyson before the problem started? This will only happen if you press the trigger in when the bin is open. If you do this, all the dust inside the cyclone will transfer onto the filter immediately.

Hello Souad. I think you said that you washed your filter but did not let it dry for at least 24 hours. And now the Dyson does not work anymore. Is that right? Did the vacuum work before you washed the filter?

When you press the trigger are the battery Icons all light up blue? If yes, for how long? For a split second and then go dark? Or does the blue light stay on while pressing the trigger? Does it still charge when plugged in?

Hello and Good Morning Margo. Is the filter clean? If you washed the filter before, was the filter really bone dry as you reinstalled it into the vacuum cleaner?

@@Woopnik no it wasnt, the filter was a last resort option.

I see. Have you tried to turn on the vacuum cleaner without any attachments? This kind of noise usually only happens when something is obstructing the brush bar. Removing the obstruction, like a sock or paperclip from the brushbar will usually get it working again. If you remove the obstruction and it still makes this noise, then turn off your Dyson and try turning the brushbar by hand. It should be quite loose, if not remove the brushbar and clean it.

The cyclones should do most of the filtering. Not sold on the cordless cleaners.

Interesting. I did not know that.
@NumaticVacuum5 жыл бұрын
Tim Connell The reason the filter can get that dirty on the V10 is because the machine can still be turned on by mistake while the bin is being emptied. When the bin is open, the seals are obviously not in place and any dirt left in the cyclones and or ducting will just get sucked straight through the cyclones and straight onto the filter. With the machine in the usual operating set up, the filter won’t get dirty like that because the cyclones are operating correctly. A flaw with the V10. I think this was addressed on the V11.

Of note these filters are actually inexpensive though I would caution to use genuine parts.

So sad, no family or friends to spend Christmas with. Highlight of Christmas was making a video on how to clean a Dyson. For the new year put away the camera and get out and make friends so next Christmas wont be so solitary.

Sir I washed n dried my v10 filter n now it stinks Iam so upset wat should be done I couldn’t understand by wat u said to put dryer sheets. For 5 mins ....plz kindly explain me Iam very depressed
@Woopnik5 жыл бұрын
Hello Ne An. Yes, this can happen. The Dyson just stinks. Did you wait at least 24h after washing the filter to let it dry completly? If you do then you could also try to put a dryer sheet with a fragrance of your choice and let it run 5-10 mins in the empty bin. You can also try to put two drops of eucalyptus oil on each of the filters. That way, when the vacuum is running, it will produce a pleasant smell. Washing the interior of the dust bin with white vinegar is also a fantastic way to deodorize the Dyson, and it can even work as a disinfectant. I hope I was able to help you. Let me know if you succeeded getting rid of the smell. Have a good night 😴🌙💤

@@nean8160 yes, you can use a hairdryer, but on low heat and about 4 inches distance so filter doesn't burn.

It comes to something when you need to make a video on how to maintain your expensive £400 Dyson hoover what I do not understand is most of the people that have these problems with their brand new hoover not working not sucking or loss of suction are the very same people that are constantly moaning or complaining because instead of taking the time to read the manual and instructions they rip it out of the box and start using it and then when it breaks etc they wonder why so they throw it away and buy a new more expensive model and the same thing happens again, when you spend that amount of money why look after it. It would actually work out a lot cheaper to pay for a cleaner to come in twice a week with their own hoover and clean your house if you keep having to buy a new hoover every year lolol.

@Woopnik5 жыл бұрын
Place the filter and the filter housing on a flat surface in a warm area. Allow the filter and housing to dry. Don’t dry the filter in a tumble dryer, microwave or near a naked flame. I hope that this is of any help for you. Have a great weekend. 😀
@ssranon5 жыл бұрын
Had the same problem. Simple solution is to buy another filter from Amazon.com. Now I can use my vacuum for weeks while the other one is drying. Then, when that filter gets dirty, I wash it and swap in the original filter, which has been drying for weeks. Simply repeat again and again.... No downtime!
