Excellent work Mark, the colour of the car really comes through after this wash, and no doubt will look even better after the decon stage. Always important to give your wrists a workout from time to time as well 😉

Completely agree about not pre rinsing. Two hits of snow foam with a rince between I my method.

Of all the testing I've done, I see no benefit to pre-rinsing unless it's covered in measurably thick mud 👍🏼

Brilliant video yet again Mark!! And still keeping us interested with tip after tip!, you’ll have to do a video of what ‘not’ to do or what mistakes you’ve made over your time as a detailing enthusiast 🤔 I loved the tip with the brushes and glad to see you’re not using make up brushes on the exterior which as you know, will do feck all, except keep those wrists exercised 🤣 Can’t wait to see the next one and eventually get to see the Civic in all its blue glory 👌 Loved all the music and totally loving how the voiceover sounds as balanced as it does, makes a very enjoyable viewing experience 🙌🏻

Wow, thank you Graeme 🙌🏼 some very big compliments there! I don't mind sharing tips but I don't know if I have the confidence to point out other people's mistakes on video lol if people want to wash their own car with a brush or a sponge, who am I to point the finger 🤣 Definitely trying to keep the music subtle, enough for ambience but not enough to stand out! I do think people will enjoy the finishing video when I get it done - not because of me lol but because that colour looks incredible when it's finished properly 👌🏼👍🏼

Ok, so I've to take a wee break to watch this and, i wasn't disappointed because it's good to learn. With that in mind, an interesting use of snowfoam, not something I'd have thought of, so cheers. There's a question/thought though 🤪.... is there a chance that the thicker foam will run off quicker, due to the wetted out thin layer, thus making the chemical work for less time? Sorry Mark, but you know me well enough to know my mind works at 100mph often and, as a result, can be uncontrollable and i crash 😂. Are we allowed to guess what protection will be used, I 100% know which one won't 🤔 😅. All the best mate, cracking video 👍.
@SparkleanAutos Жыл бұрын
It's a good question but the answer is no lol the ticker foam combined with the wet layer to just form a nice thickish-but-wet foam... It just takes a lot of trial and error to get right, especially with different lances lol You can guess the protection but I'm saying nothing until that video appears 🤣👍🏼

My Honda has the same fueling system and as I was aware in another video I was advised to stay away from it with a power washer which I have done to it's detriment. Genius tip from this video put a rubber glove over it and turn down the pressure to rinse. It was an issue I had not even thought about a solution but you did. I am keen to see which GT product you are going to use for protection. My son has just bought his first car a week after passing his test and was quoted £499 by an Audi dealership for a Ceramic coat. I said don't waste your money I have a bottle of GT CS looking for an outing so when I get a chance I will be preparing his car or I might just wax it from my wax collection by Mitchell & King.

Hi John and thank you. Well I've been working in cars for over 39 years and I have enough experience to know what's safe and what isn't but I would never expect someone without that experience to just go blasting water in there without knowing what they're doing - you're wise to always err on the side of caution in that are but yes, stick a glove over it, some decent pre-wash, and even the garden hose would be fine! Anything to clean that area up 👍🏼👍🏼 You've advised wisely (in my opinion!) Against the dealership coatings, generally speaking they're lower quality and/or poorly applied... Much better buying your own products and applying them every months - more enjoyable and much more cost effective 👌🏼👍🏼

Yo have 10 years more experience than me but I could add another 10 years following my Dad's guidance on the red bucket , sponge and fairy liquid or if he was splashing out Zipwash and a Turtle wax polish. On the last point I couldn't agree more.@@SparkleanAutos

Another fantastic video Mark 👏👏. OK mate you need to sack your script writer I mean getting you to say "black bristled brush" 3 times, they want shooting and as for the pad flip, you sir must be the fastest pad flipper in the West!! I must agree that Garage Therapy products are hard to beat when you use the whole product range for a deep clean like you're doing, you know where you stand with them, not that I'm saying other brands don't work aswell, I just haven't tried that many yet myself to justify a comparison. I can't wait for the final episode in this mini series as I've enjoyed them and you with all your faux pars too, it wouldn't be the same without them (if you edit them out I'll unsubscribe...🤣🤣).
@SparkleanAutos Жыл бұрын
Haha I'll never edit them out Paul, worry not! Nobody's perfect so I don't want to edit myself and pretend to be 🤣 Agreed about GT, they've been one of my 5 top brands since I started using them 👌🏼 As for the black bristled brush ... That actually took 12 takes 😬😬 Thanks for the comments Paul, always look forward to them 🙌🏼

That was a very sudsy 15mins 🧼 Interested in your double foam technique, I can see the logic in a wetting layer to penetrate the dirt and a thicker layer to help it dwell longer 🤔 you seemed to refer to same product just adjusting dial but im thinking of going first lance with citrus and second with snowfoam
@SparkleanAutos Жыл бұрын
That could definitely work too, but this way saves me swapping the lance bottle... I usually apply a pre-wash underneath but you've definitely got me thinking .. watch this space lol Thanks Nick 👍🏼
@decker0373 Жыл бұрын
That's also a very interesting thought. Would you still use something like the decon and essentially have 3 layers? All the best, Nick. 👍
@gillywash1487 Жыл бұрын
@@decker0373 I don’t think I’d do a full 3 layer Neapolitan pre wash 😂 decon would be great on its own if you’re not worried about maintaining any protection
@GMDetails Жыл бұрын
@@decker0373excuse me butting in but 3 layers?, it’s foam so one layer sitting on top of another then another will make absolutely no difference to the substrate being cleaned, if you were to use each one after another would give better results but take longer, there is also the element of trouble by mixing chemicals in this way 🤔🤔
@SparkleanAutos Жыл бұрын
Decon itself is a snowfoam so wouldn't be much benefit... To be honest, the main benefit of this method is to get the foam consistency I want, mixing too many chemicals could be counterproductive but I'm not a chemist so who knows lol 👍🏼👍🏼
