I definitely remember this VW from last year, it was in such a memorably bad state. I can't understand how on earth a person sits and drives in an interior like that. There are covers they could at least get for the floor which are easily removable and can be shaken out regularly - it would keep the worst of the sand, pet hair and mud out. I'm a pet owner as well and a former VW Golf owner - could never sit in a ride like this. Oof. You truly worked a miracle once again.

Whenever I am asked or offer to clean a car, I’ll always insist on doing the exterior only the first time as it enables me to assess how the owner treats the inside. Interior cleaning can be hugely time-consuming - some people are happy to drive around in filth and identifying those people can only be done when you can see the car properly. Lovely job, Heather. Let’s hope the owner takes better care.

Oh my gosh. A compressor and a tornador will transform car cleaning for you. Luxury. I love the drill idea as a workaround. Love the steamer. Anyone get annoyed at that low quality “carpet” that manufacturers use more and more now. It’s barely a carpet. Nothing comes out of it.

I am floored. You are the most detailed of detailers! I keep my cars immaculate by most peoples standards, I even have had mechanics concerned they were going to dirty my vehicles and people often asking what year my car is because it looks new when they are years old. However, after watching this I can see that I do not hold a candle to your level of work. I love the use of the steam cleaner, I have thought of it but have yet to use one. i'm convinced now. I don't know if it is you shooting and editing these videos but they are excellent too.

I was watching an old 'Autoshine cars' video the other day and was thinking Gary hasn't uploaded for a long time, but after seeing this, I'm thinking he's sending really bad interior cars onto you now haha. I've got the same or similiar Karcher steam cleaner, and believe or not, as a bloke, I did read some of the instructions, but it never felt right filling the tank by pouring water of the black bit, which (if i did read correctly?) is the top of the water softener cartridge. Was thinking you could to with a Tornador air tool which Gary fromAutoshine uses, but using that drill brush I think is a brilliant idea for people not in the trade but just want to give their cars a better than average clean up on the inside, you'be given me a few good ideas to try to give get my interior looking better!

Really enjoy your videos. Shame the owner has let this car go again. Detailing a car is hard work both inside and out. Inside sometimes more so because of the intricate nature of detailing an interior, but trying to film this as well as getting the right shots and setting up cameras every time even more so, so much respect to Heather. The end result is testament to Heather's product knowledge and what tools are required at each step. The newsletter is a great idea and offers a different angle from other detailing channels.

@@AutoCareHQ would take me 3.5 hours tops (no filming) for a vehicle that size. There are lots of ways to clean a car, but the main difference what I do is I boil 2 large pots of water at my house, throw it in a large water-boiler, drive to client's house, and use boiling hot water (with added shampoo) on the seats and floor and vacuum it out (with dewalt stealthsonic). (wear 2 pairs of chemical gloves so you don't burn your hands on the boiling water) At this point I'm 70% done the job. Then it's just a matter of APC'ing the doors/dash/plastics combined with using the steam cleaner on all those areas. Now you're 90% done. Then you can steam-clean the inner windows and wipe with the Rag Company Gauntlet (great window towel that minimizes streaking). And if you're feeling nice you can use an interior dressing to make the dash look new. And leather condition any leather. I clean 2 cars per day (inside & out) May to October

Good tips! Yeah the filming at least doubles the overall time. Usually I’m moving the cameras and refocusing about 250 times for an interior vid so it takes ages
