I'd get a small ladder when doing the initial rinse, go from top of cab to bottom and do the rinse in sections. The dirt at the end basically blew back into what ya had just rinsed when ya did the 2nd coat so as your rinsing, get all that dirt and other stuff wayyyyy away from what your planning to rinse to avoid cross contamination and have a better outcome on the detail. Cheers!

One piece of advice. Be very careful pressure washing anything with a zerk fitting for grease. Getting a bunch of water in whatever is meant to be lubricated is generally no bueno. Just make sure the customer shoots some grease into all of the points after a wash to make sure that all the water gets pushed out and everything that's meant to be slippery stays slippery.

Open all the widows and use a leaf blower first on the tractor. Then hit it with a two inch pump sprayer. Saved you slot of time. Gotta have a two inch water cannon on the farm. It’s really a waste of time to do any more than that on a tractor. Pressure wasters are bad to blow water into things that don’t need to be wet,like bearings,and electrical parts. We we just leaf blow the trash off,to prevent fires. Things that get too greasy we wash off with diesel.

Don't forget to regrease all bearings and moving parts.... especially after the chemicals.

This touchless washing stuff is pretty neat! But, hypothetical question: What would happen if someone used only Stars OR Stripes, and then washed it off, never using both as intended?
@MegaMajormax2 жыл бұрын
Not as good by a long shot, the pH shock of the acid and then base neutralize on top of each other and get rid of the road film. You then you rinse it off about 6in to 12in from the surface and no farther.
@dougkratz52692 жыл бұрын
You would be hypothetically wasting your time and $
@pinecone012 жыл бұрын
@@dougkratz5269 Of course, but my primary curiosity here is also if there is potential for damage to paint/surfaces/clear coat from improper procedure? Let's say someone is washing something, and they only get Stars applied before some kind of emergency pulls them away from finishing the job? What's the worst case scenario improper use could cause?
@ChemX2 жыл бұрын
So there’s no danger when using just one or the other to any of the surfaces, stars alone would clean aluminum and brake dust and bugs, stripes would remove greases and soot, but they are def best used one over the other to shock the ph level neutral and shut off the static that holds on the road film and grime so you can power wash it off without physical contact

As a mobile detailer I wanna find a way of doing maintenance details touch free, Bilt Hamber Touchless gets 98% of dirt off but can’t remove traffic film, no matter the car/coating it will need a hand wash to be truly clean. I’m wondering if stars & stripes is okay for every 2 weeks/month on waxed cars or if it’s too aggressive for anything that isn’t a semi or tractor? I only have a kranzle 1622 in my van, is ~1200 PSI strong enough to really get it perfectly clean? It would be such a game changer for my business
@ChemX2 жыл бұрын
The two steps is for getting the traffic film shocked loose it’ll come off good, they will wear out standard waxes over time, ceramics or sio2 sealant holds up perfect tho, fine on clear coat as well. The psi you have would work it would just take a bit more time to do a good job

If I had to recommend anything it would be the order you did this in. John Deere door and window seals are garbage. Get the dust and dirt out of cab then wash the outside then detail the inside. It didn’t matter in this one because it seems the seals are still good but if they weren’t you’d be detailing the inside again.
