You screwed up buying Malacca, which was allied with Songhai. You bought a vote you had already bought. You should have bought one of Persia's allies, reducing their vote count by 1 and increasing Songhai's by 1. I think you still would have tied 6-6 on passing Taoism in that case but who knows.

When you did the open borders trade at 11:57, Darius gave you the open borders and you were the one paying him.

Thats on purpose. That means Filthy will get a tourism bonus towards Darius but not the other way around.
