Villopoto 2007 MXDN. Wins both moto's on a 250cc. The only 250cc rider in history to win both motos on a 250 . 2nd moto won by over a minute, lapped up to 16th.2006 was Villopoto's rookie year.

So this all really goes back to before most of your times in the 80s and 90s The 500cc class was not the fastest class the 250s were and the reason why is simple if you can ride a slower bike to is absolute limit it’s safer and faster than a bike with more power than you need or can use. The modern 450 class HP wise is the old 500 class and the modern 250 class HP wise is the old 250 class there is no professional equivalent to the 125 class anymore. Remember how well guys were doing on 350s a few years back it’s because they could ride that bike flat out safer than you can a 450. So RV being able to go balls out and hold nothing back on his KX beating everyone makes a ton of sense. early on the 250f’s we’re not that much more powerful than a 125 but that changed quickly. You all may not remember when this would happen a lot back in the Old MXON 250s beat 500s a lot

No he didn't, Townley was amazing and has titles in America aswell in Europe. Yeah he was hindered by injuries but that can happen to anyone, it's part of the game... but make no mistake, healthy on a good day there was few in the world that could beat him straight up.
