Remote control calibration and IMU calibration may help with flight orientation. I always calibrate the Giros and camera Gimbal before flight. Check the propeller screw tightens also may cause unforeseen flight characteristics. Thanks for the demonstration. The FIMI brand has a great set of drones with fantastic specs for the price.

If straddled between the buildings as shown you will lose signal. Move out to the beach head for a clear line of sight. Antenna at 45 degree angle.

It holds a standard 8" tablet like Apple Mini 5 or 6 or a Lenovo M8. When you were trying to do the manual orbit you weren't even saving any of the parameters. Pilot error on your behalf and not really knowing what you were doing. Captain Drone got his Mini 3 out well over 3klms and had no connection issues. A little more research and reading the manual might benefit your flights with it

Nice review Ron! There are two different kinds of Orbit with the Fimi Mini Ron. If you click on the camera menu you'll find the QuickShots. The first one you tried is the one that worked for me. The orbit under the QuickShots menu is the one that I couldn't get to work.

Hi Ron, good first flight, thanks for sharing. The drift may be cured with a controller sticks calibration. Draw a box around the item of interest with Quick Shots.

Hi Ron, just my opinion but in general with Fimi drones, when shooting in auto mode I find the white balance & colour to be way off. Fimi hasn't set up their camera image software correctly. Although they are great to fly.

Yup setting the fancy modes on this drone is a puzzle, but it can be done!

when you were losing connection the symbol was flipping back and forth from amber to red... scary... don't think i'd take this too far out of sight. thank you for sharing... its still a good option for a beginner. I'd still recommend the dji mini 4k for a beginner perhaps.

Thanks for posting, I'm concerned about the transmission signal, it goes to red after going about 1200 ft? I want to like this because I own the V1 and the signal issues are horrible on it but I could use the batteries with this one

Mini 3 has a better camera, flys faster, and isn't impacted by the current/future DJI bans.
