Sorry to hear your having issues with yaw straight out of the box. I hope you can get it sorted out soon. It will interesting to see if you just received a defective unit, or this some sort of firmware issue. This isn’t a good start, but I hope things get resolved quickly.

Aloha Josh, thanks for showing us the X-8 SE 2020. I have followed that drone since it' debuted , but never got one. Sorry about your troubles with it, but appreciate the honest review..Well got a badly needed haircut a couple weeks ago, the plant reopened fully today, I sure hope the rest of this year is better. Josh that's too bad you had that issue. From what I can see the video from the aircraft does look good. I would think you probably need a new transmitter - especially after it coming out of the box not bound to the aircraft. Plus Chris having his issue as well. I'd try to get ahold of Fimi to see if you could get a new transmitter.

I agree with the new transmitter. Mine has a bad left stick. Fimi confirmed. New transmitter on the way. Surprisingly very helpful and very responsive 😃👍

Did you do a stick calibration? You don't mention anything about it in the video. My 2018 had a left stick problem and TX was replaced by Fimi without the need to send the old one back.

I did. It failed everytime. I have been in contact with Fimi and they are sending me a new transmitter. They don't want my original back either. They encouraged me to take it apart and take photos for them for their records. I did that for them. Thanks for your support 😃👍

Thanks so much! The video quality is pretty darn good on my opinion. Only time will tell, but they have upped their game for sure with the video. My new transmitter comes soon so more testing will be done 😃

It's interesting I have heard of several people having problems with the left stick and so far all of them were damaged in transit due to BG sending the drone in the original box without any outer packaging and it seems that the left stick is getting hit hard by something in transit which damages the stick causing complete and or partial failure. I hope I don't have the same problem mine is in transit right now....

A lot of issues with this one, but there are a lot that aren't too. We never hear about a lot of the people who dont have issues. I post everything, good or bad. Hope you get yours soon and fingers crossed it's all good 😀

Parks N' Tech I purchased a refurbished Mavic Air 1 from Drone Nerds, but yes I’m very satisfied with purchase, my only complaint is flight time.Look, feel and build quality is far superior to my Hubsan drones.Mavic Air 2, well maybe someday.

Wow, that worries me. QC Guy (Chris) has an over-yawing problem, you have a no yawing problem. You also appear to be getting jumping (from missed frames?) in your video. I have a new Fimi on order and I'm beginning to wonder whether I should cancel even though the price has gone up since I placed my order. I got a Hubsan Zino H117S while I was waiting for the Fimi and I'm being blown away by it.

My issue is a bad left stick. Fimi confirmed it after some back and forth. They have been very responsive and helpful. I wouldn't let it scare you. Things happen. I didn't see any missed frames but to be honest, my eyes aren't as good as others. Once my new transmitter comes, I will be testing more and will pay attention to that. Thanks for the heads up. I love my zinos, too! 😃👍

If you havent got yours yet you should think seriously about whether you want to actually go ahead or not. I got mine on 8th June. Love the camera. Hate the gimbal. My horizon tilts up to 11 degrees. Yes 11 DEGREES. Every flight. did all calibrations, updates. Tried everyting. Wish I'd bout something else. I'm beyond dissappointed with this product.

Hey. Nice vid. I have a question: I bought one of these and it's great. But I notice that the bottom of the drone (heatsink I guess) seems to get very hot. Even when the drone is sitting there with the motors off after being powered on. 5 minutes just sitting there and it is already quite seriously hot. I'm a little new to drones like this so don't know if this is normal or a defect. What do you think? Thanks!

Sorry for the delay....Mine too gets very hot. They took the fan out of this model. Bad move if you ask me on their part. But it is what it is. Still seems to work fine. Just keep an eye on it.

Thanks for the video Josh. I just got my 2020 two days ago and there was no plug adapter with it. The controller and drone were not paired, so I had to figure that one out myself. Being from the older generation I'm not real sharp at this stuff. I've had 2 flights so far and on the second one, things got a little wonky with the controls. I re calibrated my sticks tonight and I had to do it several times as the right stick was not reading correctly. So I'll give it a go tomorrow and see if the controls are a little more accurate. Just wanted you to know there are others out her who appreciate hearing about your issues. It may help me out down the road. Can I ask you how did you find the contact info fro Fimi? I sure hope I don't have to go that route. :>)

I sure hope you don't have to go down that road either, but in the end, there have been a lot of people experiencing issues with the Fimi X8 SE 2020 transmitters. Not sure why yet, but there is one common denominator; all the tranmitters have been from late last year. Check the date near the serial number on the transmitter. If it says 2019, there may be an issue. If there is, contact [e-mail] they were a big help and fairly quick to respond. I was quite surprised. Fingers crossed for you!

@@ParksNTech Yesterday when I activated the controller, I had to re calibrate it again. When I got the drone into the air, it took off by itself and went into a pine tree. (That was a soft hit) So now I've contacted Fimi regarding this issue. I'll have to see what their response is. Thank you for responding to my inquiry.

I received my 2020 about a week ago and just found your video. I did not experience the yaw issue you have what so ever, i did have a horizon issue right out the box but the latest update allowed for the gimbal to be adjusted as you see fit so that fixed it. Seeings how your controller wasn't even bound to the copter i suspect something went wrong at the factory and your original controller was replaced with that one but the problem wasn't fixed. Very bad luck, especially if you've been waiting like i did for like, 4 months, to get the damn thing. Hope you get it sorted out, does it work if you try the 360* smart mode or follow me or what ever???

Same thing with mine no adapter for us and my rc would not bund wright out of box I finlay dine what've did but I did not know at first was verry mad so far mine works good and it lands wright back on my pad

I noticed what looks like the gimbal horizon issue as you came back in to land at the lake it was quite bad! Did you notice it too?

I did. To be honest, I didn't do a gimbal calibration for this flight. So it might have been my issue on that. Although, I have seen others have a gimbal issue, without me doing the gimbal calibration, I can't say one way or the other, atleast yet. Once I get my new transmitter, I will be doing more tests.

Hey P&T...I also got the EU plug after ordering from California/USA..had to order adapter and i know what you mean about the yaw. Also my Fimi seems shaky in the air and makes a funny noise like it's struggling to stay up. Is your's doing the same and in your opinion, should I contact company or wait for a firmware update🤔

I live on the edge for some of these things which is why I did it over water to begin with, if I lost it, I lost it. No snot out of my nose. It was a long way to say there was an issue, you are correct. But it shows some trouble shooting as well. The title says there is a problem. You wouldn't have had to watch anything to know that. There's a lot more to this video than meets the eye.

Damn, that's bad. I'm really beginning to regret buying this drone. I have horizon tilt issues that would make yoour hair stand on end. Every flight the gimbal tilts up to 11 degrees. Unreal. Never had a problem like that with my cheap zino. I'm waiting for a reply from Fimi about this. Who knows, maybe they'll actually get back to me and we can sort thiss out. Or maybe I just wasted a lot of money. Crikey, nothing is simple.

Things happen with these things. So far I have been quite lucky, but sadly got sent a bad transmitter. They are sending me a new one and have been very helpful and responsive. That's the part that means a lot to me. DJI has their issues too, just not as much. But fimi has been extremely responsive and seemed like they actually care 😃👍

I got my 2020 in 2 weeks from Banggood, and yes the box was banged up pretty good!! No major issues except it took forever to do a compass calibration.
