Just a heads up to people thinking that this is just so easy.. You have to have a drone part 107 license to be able to sell any image or video captured with the drone. The regular drone license is just for recreational flying.. You need the commercial 107 part to be able to do anything involving MONEY with the drone.
@okjohnnygo
@okjohnnygo 8 ай бұрын
yeah, and everything is up in the air with the mini 3 especially now that remote ID is in effect. apparently remote ID only works on the mini 3 if you purchase the bigger battery. you can still fly it unregistered with the normal battery which keeps the drone under 250g, but part 107 just got more complicated.

I think the 360 walkthrough is the most interesting. Nobody is doing that! Everyone sets the camera in the corner and does a still 360 and makes a semi-virtual walkthrough. What you've shown that can be done is awesome! It's an ACTUAL 360 walkthrough!

@@r3furbish3dbrain12 thanks for your response! Do know if there’s any way to blur the person holding the camera (like if they walk by a mirror) and not lose the virtual 360 effect of rotating the view? My realtor had something similar done for our house. She paid around $2500 for all internal and exterior photos and video. Dope process. The interior photographer made $1200ish in 1hr. The drone and AI imager made $1300 in 45min. Seriously considering going into this as a side gig.
@MCIMGMT

Looks like as cheap as 300$ for aerial photos up to 1300 for full 3d package including indoor and outdoor and post-processing (much more than 1 hour of work). This is in so cal. Not sure where you are at and your realtor is paying nearly double. She may have just lied to you to appear as though she is investing more time/money(very common). Wow! That’s amazing!!! So say that’s 1-2 hours of getting the drone shots + getting the 360 video of inside and outside + let’s say 2 hours of editing. So my guesstimation would be 2-4 ish hours total making $500-$2500 depending. That works out to be about $125-$625 / hour. You do 4 clients a month that’s $2000-$10000 in a month. Then you double and do 8, that’s $4000-$2000 a month. Double and do 16 that’s $8000-$40000 a month. So yeah! Sounds like it could be really profitable once you have that influx of clients.

It depends on your area and the company. 2500 might be reasonable on a house worth several hundred thousand. In my area, you can get all those from the same guy for about 800$. Many firms are offering packages for real estate that include all of those things for progressively lower prices.

This concept and your presentation, are great examples of freelance/gig work. The area I live in is booming with new houses and subdivision development, and a service like this could be very valuable to both the developer, and future owners. In fact, the average person owns a home for around five years before listing it for sale again, there is potential to resale digital packages to each new owner.

not being a hater, just realistic, but who would see value in that video as a buyer of a residential property? I went onto the website in this video. It looks pretty average to say the least. I was hoping for a wow factor, but it's just not there. If I'm buying this property, I see no difference in the nerf compared to a standard circular drone video. Why would the seller of the property want to pay for something that they can get from a standard drone video? I like the walk-though 360 video. That was good.

Almost went down this same route for drone freelancing but decided against it because of other commitments - but this is exactly what I would've done to get started. Similar to what you show here, I'm trying to use all free or inexpensive tools due to this being a hobby and no real income yet. I have picked up some roof inspections with Bees360, but that is about it. I am actually in a new subdivision in Middle TN and people move here from the north east, California, Illinois, etc. on a daily basis. I need to walk down the street (literally) and do this on one of the homes under construction, then I could walk in the model home and show the agents what can be done, and maybe they could pitch this to their clients that are building the homes? It's worth a shot! Recently sold the Mini 2 and picked up the Mini 4 Pro. Looking forward to see if you have any videos coming up about it. Thanks again.

With Drone Deploy processing you can use any drone. For capturing data with their app you need specific drones that they highlight on their website. For accurate data you need an RTK or GCP setup. Thanks for the informative video Dylan. I am working my way into this industry, and am currently building a portfolio. I have the all the gear, but am curious about the 360 max video. How are you able to share basically an unrendered video without any set frames? All my max videos need to be rendered in app to be shareable.

Guys this is illegal in the usa. Don't do this without a Part-107 license(Equivlent of a driver's license but for unmanned aircrafts) You can fly drone as a hobbyst as much as you want, even post the video's on youtube. But when you start selling the content you make on a drone, or fly a drone for any business related thing, that is a completly different story. Even though the drone is under 249 grams, and does not need a drone license plate, it still does need the Part-107
@stat11

I don't believe he mentioned anything at any point in this video that you should do this without a Part-107. He is showcasing how he does it technically. That's it. If someone finds it intriguing they should continue the research.

Thanks for the video Dylan. One thing I noticed though, with the 360 video, is that behaves differently on a phone than it does on anything with a bigger screen. If you stay on the project website, the 360 vid is "fishbowl" and you have no control over the view. However, when you open it in KZbin, then the view is normal but the only way to change the perspective is by moving the phone around! I set up my own sample project site to show to prospective clients. I noticed this happening with the 360 vid and thought I had done something wrong until I went back and checked your project site. Not a show stopper and I haven't checked it on a larger "pro" phone either.

I’m not on board with helping foreign clients buy up American property, that’s already been devastating for both the US and Canada. However guess it depends on the circumstances, if it were someone in another state or someone who will be moving in themselves that would be more reasonable. Nice channel though and thanks for the tips.

As long as those property purchases are legal and lucrative they will happen whether we take the work or not. I have mixed feelings about some of the work I do but I recognize that refusing the work will not make any difference. To make a difference I think our effort is better spent telling policymakers that we don't like the policy. Honestly, I'm not confident that telling policymakers makes any difference either because they're looking out for things other than us. Still, refusing the work won't help 😞 I do admit that if somebody just feels better by turning down certain jobs, that is an important factor.

Hey Dylan, this video really got my excited. Photogrammetry is where I eventually want to end up, but, this seems like a way I can maybe make some extra money to build up to that. Thank You for making this video. One question I am wondering, for the $500/month per property, do they get one update or multiple updates and how many property updates are covered by that $500 before more money is charged. I don't want to undersell what you are doing. They are building like mad here in LV and this seems like a good opportunity!

Very nice. I have the OM6 with my current iPhone 13 Pro Max soon the iPhone 15 Pro max. I have the Air 2s and my newest addition DJI Mavic 3 Classic. I am learning Final Cut Pro still so my videoing doesn't suck! That perspective of doing all those different shots and that app in the end creating them is crazy. How does that all work when the customer zooms in on the model? Does it all look like on piece go from the outside to the inside? Thank you for the video! I am trying to learn a bit at a time to get some good skills so I can do almost any job. My brother who is a fellow 107 brought up something called, "Drone Mapping" which I looked up and seems really cool. I just wonder is it something that would really get used and in a case like this could it do most of the work for you here and all you would primarily have to do is the inside job?

Great vid. As a netsuite consultant, I make 1000 usd per day. Mostly sitting in meeting rooms, being treated to the best foods and hotels. I travel in Business class. I heard that SAP consultants make 3x this amount. So I guess ERP/ CRM/ Bi consulting can make you very rich, very fast. It took me a diploma in Business management, 2 years as an auditor, 4 years as an accountant and 2 years working with a NetSuite consulting firm to get all I needed to be worth 1000 USD/day. But now I see electricians, plummers, painters earn half of what I earn (I'm 45) but with just a 3 month course. I guess govt. printed so much money, anyone can become rich doing almost anuthing than a 9 to 5 job.

First rule in acquiring clients is building trust. Easiest way to build trust is to offer something valuable for free. Less cryptic version: Do it for free and offer it to several customers for an honest review? Really cool things start to happen after that. They may actually refer people to you. They themselves might see an ongoing need for that service. You get to start building your portfolio of actual real world application of your service than now you can leverage of social media, KZbin or Run Ads with. I always start simple. If you have a good product, give it away for free to valid that you think is good, others also think is good. After you validate, you promote and network, rinse and repeat.

The Virtual tour concept assumes that we can move around inside the building (photo or 3D) and stop the camera and rotate 360º.... but how is this achieved and with which Luma app? From what I see, Luma has two apps: one to convert a video into 3D but only for iphone 11 or higher and the Flythough app asks $10 for each model, that is, we have to pay to see an example. I would like if you could really explain to us what the end product customers pay $500 for, just for that aerial 3D model?

What is their job title/ role in the construction project? Do you suggest contacting the developer of the construction project? Builder? Owner? Subcontractor? Curious which you would start with, and which person at that company would be better to contact? Once you have decided on the ideal potential client to pitch to, how do you find their contact info? Do you typically call, email, or set up a video chat to demo the website for a client? Thank you! Cam
