There you have it. Horizon and range issues, but, for whatever reason, the color quality was much improved. Your SUV was actually red and the yellow cast was absent (totally?). Anyway, thanks for sharing your day and flying time. Take care Marcus. 👍👍👍

Nice demo of the advanced features of the Fimi, it's very impressive that it has all these features. Which makes it even more of a head scratcher that they still horizon tilt issues and now color correction issues. It seems to me the programers should focus on getting the basics right first. Great video Marcus, and I could really see the smoke in the upper atmosphere, that's how it looked here last week. But it cleared out on Friday night.

Thank you Ron! It is really strange that Fimi can't solve the horizon problem. We had a wind storm over the weekend that helped clear out some of the smoke. I'm hoping the rain of the last few days in the west helped suppress the fires.

Hi, I notice that you have a tilted horizon. You can see it on the horizon and roof edge of the shelter. I have two Fimi X8 SE 2020 (one made in March, the other May) that both have the same tilt problem. I have tried gimbal calibrations up the yin yang with little success. I notice tilt on many Fimi X8 SE 2020 reviews so horizon tilt must be a systemic problem with this drone. Other drone vendors have seemto get their gimbal positioning right, why can't Fimi?

Yes, it is one of the most frustrating things about the Fimi X8 SE. Both my 2020 and 2018 version are afflicted with the same issue.

Phenomenal job on this video Marcus. Now I feel much better about trying to film my video again. I also had issues with the smart track. You can really see that wildfire smoke. Crazy thing is I can see it here too and I'm 1500 miles east. The video syncing is something I see often with toys that film at odd FPS like 24 but I have also seen it at 30. Usually your video editing software can adjust to it but it may be simply because your screen recording is at 60fps and the Fimi is filming at 29.97. Oh and it never fails when I start filming that 5 mowers start up and a group of Harley's drive by. Lol

Thank you so much Ryan! I too have seen the sync issue on toy drones, but never on a hobby drone like this. The thing is the screen recording will sync perfectly with my GoPro or Osmo Action, it's always the drone video that is off. 🤷‍♂️ Thank you again my friend!

I cant get my zoom to work on the fimi and also the range is not what they say and I just don't think the video are not up to par maybe I just got a bad one check out the new budget drone the holystone e with electronic stabilization. Vids look pretty good and I cant believe how clear and crispy my jjrc x12 drone videos are and the pics on that drone are pretty amazing. crystal clear.yes problems on that drone but the vids and pics are amazing.

The Zoom on the Fimi only works when you are in SAR mode. 👍

The other day mine had 13 sats and could not enter GPS mode. It had a clear view of the sky too. I moved it 6 feet and it Picked up more satellites. Have you ever calibrated the gimbal?

Yes, the best feature of this Fimi X8 SE is the price. 👍 I tell people, "if you can afford a Mavic Air 2, buy it". The Fimi is not a bad alternative for someone with less than $400 to spend. 👍

Hi Marcus the hight of test should'nt they be a bit higher like 10 meter. You most of time were too low at 9.7m for the tracking modes tests. Maybe.

What version and revision of the Fimi Nav 2020 app are you running? I don't have the 'BETA' tag under smart track. Additionally, I have had really great results with smart track using my Apple platform. You should look at comparing functionality between Apple and Android.

Constrast, you’re wearing all clothes in the same tonal range. I’ve seen it with someone riding a bike wearing clothes that contrasted with the back ground and it worked perfectly. Look at your video and see how much you and your hat match the background. It’s almost like you’re wearing Camo.
