640000/1.08 + 512000/(1.08^2) + 384000/(1.08^3) + ........ then you can get the NPV is equal to 1611664. Hope this helps

But for computing the present value of tax Shield the numerator will be, debt * 0.12 (for eg) * tax rate, but in the denominator we have to divided it by 1 + cost of debt i.e. 1.12 to get the present value. Then will they get cancelled?

to calculate PV why do you divide the tax shield by the interest rate as it’s already been accounted for
