I was ok with that then as it was too much money for him imo. My point was more that the Knicks played better with a real point guard and no Melo there hogging the ball. Lin was always a zigzagger towards the hole. That is what caused his injuries. I had noticed he only wore one pad on one knee & not both knees, in most games of this time frame. So it was not a surprise that the knee that got injured was the knee that had no pad on. Hindsight is 20/20.

Used to be a HUGE Knicks fan since '94, which was the first time I watched basketball. I followed the team all the way until the end of Marbury days and completely stopped watching. I didn't even know who was on the roster. Linsanity came, and Jeremy completely reignited my love for the Team and the game. I honestly wish they would have kept him on the roster. I loved the Linsanity days. I live and work in NYC and the vibe here was so electric and exciting, even brotherly. Having a winning and loved team did wonders for the NYC morale. No Joke! Sad that Lin's NBA career was cut short but this epic moment was historic. Some of these other guys stuck around longer but will wax and wain and be forgotten. This shot will continue to give people frisson far into the future.

As a Knicks fan, Linsanity was the last thing we could truly be excited about. Unfortunately, Carmelo couldn't learn to play with him when Carmelo came back from injury, and he didn't like someone else getting attention so it ended after just that half season.
