I saw the john wall tribute video earlier, remember the dagger 3 he made to force game 7. I remember this like it was yesterday. That play really sticks to my mind wherever I hear john wall. When I watching this live and john wall shot that, I was like "damn, there so much time left and it better to tie it because it's elimination game." But hey, he made it and now I will never forget it. PS: not a wizard or john wall fan. Just appreciate this play.

It's sad that Beal had lot's of injury issues early on, and as soon as those were done with, Wall started getting injured. People forget how crazy playoff Wall was. Dude averaged 25 and 10 with 2 steals and a block in the playoffs in both of his last healthy seasons. Sad he was never healthy again from the moment Beal became an all-star. Literally. The year Beal elevated himself into an all-star was when wall started having recurring foot issues. We never got to see prime wall play with another all-star, and they still made 2nd round twice. Imagine if Beal was what we know him to be now back then. We lost out on what could have been a great dynamic duo.
@mattbuchanan64122 жыл бұрын
they actually made the 2nd round three times, but lost to the stacked pacers team in 2014, hawks in 2015, and this Celtics team in 2017. the 2017 team was one good piece from being something special.

@@mattbuchanan6412they were known to give the Cavs trouble in the regular season too so it would've been interesting had they made the ECF against Cleveland that year (I don't think they would've won but I think they would've put up a better fight than the Celtics did against the Cavs.

The Wizards have to be one of the most disappointing teams in the last 20 years. Beal and Wall should have been enough to at least get a conference finals but they never really built a team good enough around them. Otto Porter was supposed to that 3rd guy but just too many injuries. They just always ran into a team that was better than them like 2015 Hawks or this 2017 Celtics team. Although getting dubbed up by Kelly Olynyk in a game 7 probably isn’t the best way to go out. A good what if would be a healthy John Wall paired with this version of Bradley Beal

You can't always say, we will be back next year. I'm a Wizards fan and I thought we're on a good trajectory after that great series but we never reach that level again. The Celtics remain as one of the best teams in the East while we're stuck in mediocrity. I love the rivalry between these two teams but it ended quickly when they traded IT, Bradley, and Crowder. After 5 years, I didn't expect to see IT bouncing around teams for a 10-day contract and Wall getting his max contract but not playing a single game.

You wanna see why they call Brad Stevens a great coach? Look at that inbound play at 4:02. Double screen to get 2 guys open, except if neither are open the play design is actually to give the ball to the pick guy on the right (Horford) so that one of the guys originally trying to get open (IT) can actually set a screen for the inbounder to make a backdoor cut. If the backdoor cut isn't open, IT is right there for the handoff and rub to the basket where he can essentially run a Horford pick and roll/pop with great spacing. Thats as good a play as you're going to see with 15 seconds, executed beautifully, although that shot was lucky lol Now see the Wizards answer at 4:20. Wall simply runs to the corner, Gortat sets a half-hearted screen for Morris that doesn't do anything, then takes his time setting a 2nd screen for Beal in the far side while everyone else just stands still. A miracle that they were even able to inbound the ball, yet alone get up a decent look. Shows how quick John Wall is to shake his man, but Scott Brooks and Gortat really show why the Celtecs were the 1 seed and Wizards were the 4 seed, despite similar talent on both sides

The Wizards really could've been a championship team after this if a few things just went their way. This was supposed to be the beginning of Wall's peak, but the season after this is when injuries started to ruin him. Bradley Beal started being that 30 ppg scorer in 2019, but by that time Wall had already played his last game as a Wizard. If we got prime Wall and prime Beal at the same time, it really could've been something special. As a Wizards fan I can't help but wonder what we could've been for the past 6 seasons, sucks ass man.

They badly needed a backup PG during that season, because the team's engine severely cooled off whenever Wall sat to get rest. I remember hoping that they could get Rondo from the Bulls, because he and members of the Bulls organization were having problems during that season, and he was viewed as a 'team/locker room cancer'.

They sped up the video and edited it too much. You couldnt really feel the true suspense. Or the excitement of Wall jumping on the scores table after that legacy defining moment. I wish sheep fans would actually place blame on the billionaire owners first who choose to pay for a championship caliber team or not. John and Beal always gave it there all. John never played with a Superstar like his counterparts Kyrie and Russ. Wall has always been the A1 player his whole career. And false narratives aside he hasnt lost a step. He still averaged 21 and 7 coming off 2 years of injuries. But when Klay comes back the world stops. Unfortunately Wall isn’t a media darling and Stephen A Smith has had it out for him for some time now. Welcome to LA. When healthy he’s still my favorite player. And I hope that he can some day come back to DC. If the organization finally wants to WIN FRFR. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
