This movie actually saved one of my friends life once. Not long after it came out, a few of us was out driving around on some back country roads at night and Rocky Mountain High came on the radio. He jokingly said 'Oh hell no' and leaned forward to change the station when a tree limb had broken off and fell right through the passenger side window where he was sitting and barely missed him. Needless to say that was the biggest scare that any of us had ever had and took awhile for us to calm down.

And another fun fact, the first original ending actually had Alex dying when he saved Clear, months later she gives birth to a baby that she and alex had made in a deleted scene by the lake where she went to look for him after Alex went into hiding. She meets up with her son and Carter at the memorial and it was signifying that it was officially over, but because it was such a hit, they decided to change it to this ending with Carter getting hit by the sign to keep the series going.

Honestly Final Destination is one of the more consistent horror franchises. The sequel is a must watch, 5 is a definite watch, 3 and 4 aren't as good, but they aren't as horrible as most horror franchise sequels. Speaking of which, Nightmare on Elm Street is a must watch, the sequel is a must watch for other reasons, and the 7th movie of the franchise Wes Craven's New Nightmare is a MUST WATCH, it's my favorite of the franchise.

I don't remember if they ever fully explain this in the Final Destination series, but Alex is part of a handful of people in the world that are clairevoyant, meaning they have an inate, supernatural ability to sense and have visions of the future. Alex is acting that way before the trip because he can feel and have small visions of what eventually happens on the plane. He starts seeing it throughout the start of the trip, with small visions here and there like the random feelings he gets at things one would normal never even feel paranoid about, the 180 number, the 666, or hearing the song play in the bathroom, but it turns into a full blown vision during the nap he takes on the plane.
@serahmichelle2567
@serahmichelle2567 2 жыл бұрын
I also thought of "Death" as some sort of entity. For example, the train scene, you can see a shadowy figure and Alex actually either sees it or senses it because he looks in that direction. Nice how you guys noticed that.

The other films get more creative, and the series really becomes basically watching a puzzle be assembled. The 3rd movie in particular is VICIOUS!

Final Destination 2 is great for the opening scene and the interesting way that the characters in it have ties to the characters in this film is done very well. 3 and 4 were just like the saw franchise but the final film in this series is a MUST. Sadly I've seen a video where a daughter and her grandmother were driving on the freeway and a piece of wood from a truck driving in front them fall off and went through the front mirror of the car, striking the grandmother in the head and unfortunately she passed away. As much as this is just a movie, it's actually comes from real situations where people unfortunately die. That's what makes it scary, for me at least.

That movie freaking scarred me so much when i was a kid, like it got me so paranoid that i did not wanted to leave the house for a whole month because i was scared that something could happen any time. eventually i got over it but it doesn't mean that i should let my guard down. Other than that, as much as i don't like final destination, i honestly do like the theory about Tony Todd's character being death himself, like his character is so mysterious and he does know that each and every one of these characters are not going to survive at all no matter how hard they will try to prevent it. So i do agree with that theory 😲

About 'Shrek'... somebody else has probably said this already, but... it's actually 'Schreck' - one of a number of character names in Final Destination that reference creatives behind old horror movies. Agent Schreck is named after the actor who played the vampire in the original 'Nosferatu' - directed by F.W. Murnau (also name checked here as Larry Murnau). Valerie Lewton is named after Val Lewton, director of classics like Cat People... and so on. 'Schreck' means 'fear' or 'terror' in English, which is likely the reason the cartoon ogre ended up with a similar name...
@matthewganong1730
@matthewganong1730 2 жыл бұрын
Detective Schreck- most of the characters in this film are named after famous horror directors or actors (Billy Hitchcock, etc). Schreck is named after Max Schreck who played Count Orlock in the silent film Nosferatu. And yes, this film predates the movie “Shrek.” Fun fact: this movie started out as an unused script for an X-Files episode. In the original script it would have been Agent Scully’s brother who had the vision on the plane. It wasn’t used for the series but most of the crew of this film (including the writer and director) worked on The X-Files and a lot of the cast members had been guest stars on the series at one time or another.

Final Destination 1 and 5 are both equally good horror movies with the whole rube goldberg Death comes for you thing. But for me, part 2 is my favorite by far. The death's are fun (as fun as death can be lol) and I find the story more compelling than the original or part 5. And the opening premonition is just incredible. I'm pretty sure the opening disaster is considered one of the greatest highway scenes in movie history next to the likes of Matrix Reloaded's highway scene and other great movies such as The French Connection etc. Now FD 3 and 4 are fine, 3 is better than 4 - and 3 has some of the best death's in the series actually. 4 is just a mess though, and they tried to hard with the whole 3D schtick.

Fun/Weird Fact: The original idea was before Death could get to them, the survivors killed themselves. The studio didn't like that idea, so they changed it to Death killing the survivors itself.

If I'm not mistaken, this came out a few months after the TWA explosion happened. Or probably like a year after. And it was a lot of high school kids off to France for a school trip, just like this one.

This movie franchise has scarred me for life. We were driving behind a truck of logs and my sister decided to point it out to me knowing that it’s a fear of mine because of this franchise 😭 Keep the reactions coming. They only get crazier

I recently saw the 5th ne and was surpised that t tied all five together. Shot in Vancouver narurally but o was 1990's "IT". The endind scenes at the "fench" cafe were filmed in Victoria at Bastion Square.

Agent Shrek, probably a reference to the German actor Max Shreck who played the vampire in 'Nosferatu', the first vampire film ever made. He was also the German officer in the film 'Casablanca'.

Clarification on the cup: radical sudden temperature change by pouring an ice cold liquid into a cup that was super heated by the boiling tea caused the cup to deform and fracture. Also she would've been fine possibly if she left the glass in her neck. You never remove an impaled object, as it could be preventing the loss of blood. Alex was also completely stupid for not only breaking this rule by pulling out the knife, but now he looks like a murderer by putting his DNA on the handle. 🤦
