I know you're not a fan of Melog, but it seems like you're looking at more of his skillset than his purpose in the show, especially since you seem to have an issue with specifically when he came into the series. While Melog's illusions are useful and may even be mcguffin-y, his primary purpose is as Catra's therapy animal. Melog was a brand new relationship she could build up without the baggage her existing relationships carry, and in turn have that help her work on repairing her existing relationships. He also served as an outlet for Catra's emotions. It's pretty easy to see when they both get mad and calm down in sync, but the best instance of this, in my opinion, is when Adora talks Catra into coming with her to get the failsafe. Catra agrees to come and gives her typical "It's not because I like you" line, and Melog immediately responds by pouncing on Adora and getting super affectionate with her. It was a nice way to point out the obvious lie in that often repeated statement.

Netflix is about to release He-Man, after that there is nothing stopping them from making a movie, and uniting the twins. Yes the rights are a problem, but once the product shows viability in the market that problem goes away very quickly. Everybody WANTS to make this, some people just wanna get payed thats all. Hasbro had the same issue with Transformers, they didn't have the movie rights, which made them wait a long time before trying to make a movie. Once Michael Bay showed an interest, they decided to look into it and quickly bought the rights for 7 million dollars. The Transformers movie franchise is today valued at 4.8 Billion Dollars.

Honestly, there wasn't a bad moment this entire season. Horde Prime was a great powerful villain to end the season off, a real sense of dread to our heroes, Catra got a realistic redemption arc with therapy space kitty, ships confirmed as cannon, Best Princess got a cabaret music number, Wrong Hordak, Mara getting to talk with Adora! This is a new standard on how to reboot a franchise and end it rightly!

She pulled a lever without knowing exactly what it would do. Hordak and Entrapta bear as much responsibility for Angella’s fate as Catra does.

Great reaction. I think it’s less that Catra is Adora’s reason for living. IMO It’s more that that they’ve been on opposite trajectories - Catra’s of selfishness and Adora’s of selflessness - and they finally started pulling each other in healthier directions. Adora needed to learn to want more for herself and Catra needed to learn to want more for others and in the final episode they finally got there.

Never in my life have I screamed so much- This finale was honestly purrfect. Now, time to make a painfully long comment explaining my thoughts :D The characters: Ok so like all the characters were likeable in my opinion. I mean, c'mon I even loved Hordak. Now time to talk about some of the characters :D Adora - I loved her so much. Shes just a adora-ble dumb jock and she's just... a likeable protaganist in my eyes. Catra - She. Is. My. Baby. I never lost hope in her, even when she you know... Was going mentally insane at some point. I loved her character arc, I guess it had it's flaws for some people but it was pretty great. Shes bb. Glimmer - You know, I was never really into her character. She usually got on my nerves, but s5 really changed my mind about her. She's just a teen who became queen earlier than she expected, she made mistakes but I'm happy she apologized for them. Bow - He's absolutely precious. I loved everything about him and how he was the guy in the group who always tried to be positive, even though a lot goes wrong. Mermista - Her sarcasm gives me life and I love her attitude. Also, her relationship with SeaHawk is just... *chef's kiss* Entrapta - She's precious. I loved her personality and everything else about her. Shes amazing and totally one of my favorite characters. Frosta - I liked her. She wasn't really my favorite but she was pretty cool. Also, dang she could fight. Honestly she was a pretty great character. Perfuma - I love her. Shes kinda the hippie of the rebellion and I respect that. I love her positivity and her loyalty to her friends. Scorpia - SHE. IS. BABY. She's legit so precious and such a good character. We just really wanted more. Entrapdak - Idc what anyone says, this ship is amazing and it's cute. Netossa x Spinnerella - Ok this is just amazing I swear, Noelle- Now time for pLoT: The plot of this was pretty good, loved the relationships and action. Some of these moments left the fandom SCREAMING and I love it. Not to mention the character development and arcs that went with the plot. Also the dialogue was great. Voice acting: ... Ok so the voice acting legit leaves me in tears. Especially Catra's VA, I mean the way she says "Stay" just... UGH! ITS TOO BEAUTIFUL! Also like, every character's voice was amazing. I loved Bow's voice cracks, it just made him more precious. Animation: Loved the animation. Some moments were so smooth. Also I loved the art style and character designs. Every character was unique and their designs were pretty diverse. Now, everyone say it with me: THANK YOU NOELLE AND CREW! This show is and will forever be great, no matter what people say to me I'll always think that way. There was representation, diversity, great characters, amazing story lines. Like, everything about this show was great. Yes, it had flaws. Yes, not everyone liked it. And yes, it changed characters and strayed away from the original. But, I liked that it strayed away from the original. I liked that they changed it. It honestly made me like it even more. A few fun facts for you! 1. Scorpia and Perfuma get together! 2. When Noelle was writing she needed a plot twist, and her friend simply stared “worlds a weapon” so we can thank her for that! 3. In Adora’s vision, Catra has shoes on and we know that Catra hates shoes because they slow her down, so her having shoes means they are done battling (and many believe adora and Catra are married in that scene!) 4. Entrapta is actually 30ish! 5. Adora didn’t see Bow and a glimmer confess but they were still together in her vision, that means she ships them 🥺🥺 I’ll edit this if I find anymore :D

He crossed the line for me when he put many generations of children through the same shit Horde Prime put him through. By the time he "rescued" Adora he was in Etheria for 20 years or so, in *another dimention* away from Prime! I understand the abuse he went through but everything has a limit. My own abuser was abused as child. Do I think he deserved that? NO. No one does. Does that suddenly excuse all the abuse I had to endure growing up? Nope! Do I think he should be in jail right now? Yes. Being abused as a child fucks you up but if you go and abuse another child you've just became a monster yourself, that is no coming back from that.

Shadow Weaver sacrificed herself for the reason of not wanting to face the consequences of those she hurt and abused (as confirmed by Noelle), not really Catra specifically (if anything, it would be more for Catra and Adora together). Personally, I believe Catra and SW could've subdued the First Ones security measure if they worked together but SW knew that she wouldn't ever be forgiven if she helped Adora but received more power for herself in the end. The way I'd say it is that Shadow Weaver would rather die than apologize and fix what she did. I believe the, "I'm proud of you," line but everything else, including the sacrifice itself felt so ingenuine. Plus, that, "You're welcome," before she died? Wow, that was so fucked up. I get the sentiment behind the words but Shadow Weaver saying it made me frown after smiling (and crying) the entire episode.

I personallly though that the "you're welcome" was really cool, it goes well with her previous line "it's too late for me".... like.... she knew that at this point she was not going to change, the darkness and thirst for power already consumed her completly. So yeah, her sacrifice was a fitting selfless and at the same time selfish act to do, and i really love her character even more for it. At least that is the way i see it.

Yeah, she doesn't get to live. Her best option was self sacrifice. There is a certain kind of mistake you just don't get to come back from. Honestly the same applies to Glimmers mother, Queen Angella. Yes she was a good person, but she inserted herself at the top of the decision making process of a War, and totally failed at every step of that process. Too afraid, tactically unsound, too emotional. Her constant indecisions cost people their lives, and any progress the Rebellion made was made in defiance of her orders. She realized at the end she was a coward, and sacrificed her life. Because again, some mistakes you don't get to come away from.

The theme of this season is that Adora doesn't think she can do anything without She-ra. Before she had a destiny and now she has lost her purpose. Adora had to learn that she is not a failure just for not meeting those expectations placed on her. She has always put the happiness of others before her own, but she also has the right to be happy. That's why Catra told her to take care of herself for once and ask: "What do you want?". And what she wants is to be with the person she loves.

17:57 you probably never realized/noticed, but Kyle and Rogelio (the lizard dude) have been a small back ground pairing of the show for a while. Rogelio had been proven to have a crush on Kyle back in season 3 i believe(?) (if you look it up, there's a scene where we see inside his locker and he has a pic of Kyle in there with the words "RxK" and a fan-made drawing of their child uwu), and this season proved Kyle shares his feelings (during a scene where Scorpia is talking about him having a crush to Swift Wind- i forget the ep- but she cuts off before finishing Rogelio's name). In addition, after this season was aired, some official art came out with Hordak and Entrapta getting married, and some of the characters attending were Kyle, Rogelio, and Lonnie together in wedding outfits (Kyle and Lonnie in dresses with Rogelio holding them), which actually proves the idea of them being a poly relationship!!

As a writer, watching how you react at the mention of Mara shows how well these characters are developed. Mara wasn't just a name for the previous She-ra, she was a full character fleshed out to the point that we missed her. For a character to be that well developed in less than five minute chunks shows that Noelle built her interpretation around a solid base with Mara, Razz and Light Hope.

I think you misinterpreted SW's sacrifice by a little bit. You kept on saying that it was all for Catra, but that wasn't the case. She only went back after she realized that Adora wouldn't leave her behind. She'd have probably been content with Catra dying there if it had meant getting Adora to their destination. But she had to rethink her strategy when Adora went back for Catra. Sacrificing herself so Catra could take Adora to the heart. That definitely was not her first course of action.

Did you notice near the end of the Failsafe episode, while Catra is perched on a beam watching Adora sleep, Meglow is resting his head on her bed. This is because he's reacting to Catra's conflicts. She knows that she loves Adora, but she can't bring herself to tell her, knowing that she could lose her, so she has conflicted emotions. She wants to be with her but is scared, so Meglow picks up on that and only rests his head on Adora's bed rather than lies on it fully. It's little details like this you have to watch for to get the full impact of Catra's arc
