That bit about turning the Crystal Tower into a beacon of hope for the world is some truly epic foreshadowing. He accomplished that mission.

to be fair, I am pretty sure it was originally a "Maybe we'll do something with it later. No promises" and they simply made good use of it, combining it with Alexander and Omega no less

So, waaay late on this, but about Voidsent vs Sineaters. There's a part in SHB where we have a lecture on the nature of Aether, how Light is an umbral aether and Void is an astral aether. Where one represents stagnation and the other action. - It may then explain why beings of Light are so drone-like and monotone and lifeless while the Voidsent are overly abundant in emotion and visible thought.
@ChroniclerofLore3 жыл бұрын
Very true. The only exceptions seem to be the Lightwardens who are obviously more intelligent than the regular sin eaters, but still fall way short of matching the intelligence of void sent like Diabolos. But they are far younger than the voidsent so it's possible they would have grown more intelligent had they been given more time to learn.
@cormacbyrne22102 жыл бұрын
@@ChroniclerofLore SPOILERS If I may counter, I think that the Lightwardens, in their natural state, probably are as mindless as the rest of the horde. The only ones with characterization beyond ravenous angelic abomination were Titania and Innocence, who were influenced by outside circumstances (Titania by the Fae King's strong will, and Innocence by his nature as a hyur-sin eater hybrid). Any other character is probably similar to the situation with Tesleen: echoes of who they once were, but nothing more.

The Samurai story doesn't really mention much in the way of the MSQ if I remember correctly. It's isolated so you shouldn't have anything major spoiled for you. I try to keep the details separate and it works most of the time. I think 🤔

ShB (5.0) Spoilers below the cut. . . G'raha's story is so sad, especially with everything that happens in the First, though I didn't feel like he hid his identity as the Exarch very well (the first time I saw him I was like 'is this that catboy from ages ago?'). I'd forgotten most of this (had about a year-long break mid-SB) so this was a really nice refresher. Def gonna watch more of your vids - you deserve way more views.

the voidsent might be more intelligent than the sineaters for the reason that light aether tends towards passive while dark is more active.
@ChroniclerofLore3 жыл бұрын
That is very likely. It could also simply be the fact that the voidsent are multiple millenia older than the sin eaters. They were made during the ascians 1st rejoining attempt and we know little about the 13th shard or how time moved there.

I believe the voidsent are more intelligent than the sin eaters is because of the nature of Darkness’s polarity. It’s not stagnant. So it shouldn’t hinder their higher cognitive functions. Or so I surmise.
@ChroniclerofLore3 жыл бұрын
That's very likely. It could also be something that would have happened over time. We know that the 13th was the 1st world the Ascians altered, and with the time difference that we saw on the 1st we have no idea how many thousands of years the voidsent have been alive and evolving. Hopefully we learn more in Endwalker since there are some people from the 13th on the 1st now who are working to restore their world.

Hey man, new FF14 player. I appreciate the video because like many others I completely skipped the crystal tower series in a rush to get Into Heavensward. While it is informative, I really wish you didn’t put that spoiler for Shadowbringers at around 24 minutes. I don’t yet know how big a plot point that is, but nonetheless it spoiled something for me.

I'd like to say welcome to FFXIV, always love seeing new players join the game. I had to check that spot to make sure it wasn't an actual spoiler there. Trust me the comparison between the creatures isn't a spoiler as far as story content goes.
