My top damage is also around 160k,can probably optimize a little and take the strenght tonic. I wonder how much stager damage can be done in 1st playtrough,someone probably did more,but the problem is that only bosses can survive that and they go into scripts that prevent damage.

You can charge your blade while performing another ability. I like charging it while using that Garuda ability that puts you in the air, release it and follow up with downward thrust, followed by a punishing sic.

I like to hold attack when doing a downward thrust, then release charged attack followed by perfect sic. Follow up with phoenix blink to start Air combo again. Charged attack plus perfect sic launches enemies higher than anything else I’ve seen

Just FYI, Satelite and impulse are actually amazing if you know how to use them. Impulse is great cc and satellite is perfect for use while charging your megaflare as the satelites will attack still while you're charging megaflare by using the magic button. And they can absolutely melt stagger bars when combined with the magic auto charge accessory.

@@Okami.Carnage yeah read the explanation for it. Basically watch the impulse swirls as they turn to yellow it’s the best time to detonate. You detonate by pressing the same combo it’s assigned to again. Heck on trash mobs you can fire it and just blow it up quick to knock them all down. Also you can shoot off impulse and go into gigaflare while in the animation you can detonate it for more damage.

Those are some pretty sweet combos. My top 3 Eikon combos are Phoenix, Bahamut, and Rahul. I also like to use Shiva with Phoenix together, I like the themes of fire and ice put together. I love using Gigaflare, it’s the Kamehameha of FF16. I love Final Fantasy 16, it’s one of my favorites of 2023.

I'm in NG+/final fantasy mode, and currently use these: Ifrit: impulse + gigaflare Odin: will o the wykes + dancing steel Shiva: pile drive + diamond dust It's very versatile and very effective. Zantetsuken is also very easy to charge if you equip the pull of darkness, and use will of the wykes and dancing steel together. Still having trouble pulling of dancing steel? Just use Shiva's permafrost it's ridiculous.

I get that the latter 3 eikons are some of the best in the game I still think my personal favorite is titan. Really fits well with my in your face / aggressive playstyle as you constantly have a means of countering on a whim. Plus, at least for me, titanic block/raging fists has really satisfying visual/audio feedback for successfully pulling them off. Also, yeah wicked wheel pairs amazingly with upheaval. Especially after double stomping in the air

I love how with titanic block i can use it in midair. Sometimes ill just rush an enemy as he charges me and i just titanic block that shit. And i love how you can still pull it off during mid counter since the follow up counters dont really stun lock the enemy as they're attacking you. If you time it perfectly it's so satisfying pulling off multiple titanic block and counters in quick succession

The lightning rod will work with any of the AOE abilities and it seems like I get better damage off combining it with Flames of Rebirth than Gigaflare. My loadout has been Lighting Rod, Aerial Blast, Impulse, Flames of Rebirth, Gigaflare, and Judgement Bolt. When you combine Impulse and Megaflare along with just beating on the boss you melt through their stagger bar in no time. Once they're staggered I drop Lightning Rod in front of them, then use Flames of Rebirth, Impulse (If available), Aerial Blast, Gigaflare, and Judgement bolt on them all at once. It is rare I have to do this more than twice on a boss. Plus all of these abilities are good for clearing crowds if things get dicey.

this is just a juggle combo for fun. blind justice (max) > shift strike > magic burst (hold) > sword combo to 4 > release charged magic > sic em > shift strike > magic burst (hold) > air sword combo to spike > release magic > sic em > shift strike > burning blade > combo step x2 > wicked wheel > blind justice enable > fall to ground and wait > shift strike > air sword combo > step x2 > extreme downthust > pick any ender you like. charge burning blade while downthrust and release when you hit the ground or you can do a grounded punish. you can also burning blade into sic em to keep the combo going. it's just fun to do.

Shiva permafrost into basically anything with a long startup (e.g. Dancing Steel). I also Chain on a break: Diamond Dust - Giga Flare - Judgement Bolt - LV5 Zantetsuken. Diamond Dust Maxes the Chain Damage multiplier and the rest just make use of this for really high damage (i usually place a Dancing Steel on the end since the break is still in effect and it gives a chance to reset for the next break) I usually delete around half a bosses hp when at level.

Odin: Cloud of Heaven + Gigaflare Garuda: Impulse + Aerial Blast Ramuh: Lightning Rod + Will-o'-the-Wykes Breath of Wind (Aerial Blast), Favor of Light (Gigaflare), Genji Gloves Aerial Blast with Ramuh's Blind Judgement Feat is a good AoE for regular mobs when I don't have Zantetsuken up to Level 5. Impulse is also a good versatile combo of AoE or single-target damage, and while Cloud of Heaven doesn't deal much damage, it's also versatile in both single- and multi-target, as well as being able to avoid some attacks by flash stepping away. A Level 5 Zantetsuken is obviously a big damage dealer for bosses or a mob killer, and Garuda's Deadly Embrace is great for half-stagger or keeping up combos. For full on Stagger window damage, I take a Strength Tonic, Limit Break, Lunge, Will-o'-the-Wykes, then Lightning Rod, Lunge again, and then Gigaflare. Wykes and Gigaflare both proc Lightning Rod, and at point-blank range Wykes continues to hit the enemy even as Gigaflare is going off. If I have other abilities and some spare time, I'll add them as well (usually Impulse or Cloud of Heaven). Max damage I've seen on my original run was 139k. Though I'm thinking of saving for Diamond Dust and seeing if that does better than Aerial Blast.

I don't hear enough love for Titan's Raging Fists; timed as a parry, it's great for forcing an opening and melting Will bars. My late-game setup: Phoenix: Diamond Dust, Will-o'-the-Wykes Titan: Raging Fists, Windup Odin: Judgment Bolt, Gigaflare Get Zantetsuken up to level 5 and cast WotW just before the enemy will shatters, but otherwise just cast in order and finish with ZTK5. I've found that if you perform a successful perfect dodge with Shiva's ability, and then drop the enemy's Will Gauge to half, you can attack and deal even more Will damage while the enemy is slowed down, AND have time to use Garuda's ability to drag them down.

I'm at the stage where I start with Impulse and dodge attack, once stagger is at 50% i switch to Garuda for deadly embrace take down, then immediately use diamond dust to get a confirmed stagger. After that set up Rime, then lightning rod immediately then Gigaflare. Then finish with a perfectly charged Wind-up. Usually that's about 65++k damage on a single stagger (Level 40 currently)

My build was: Phoenix - Wicked Wheel and Upheaval, my go to combo that hits for massive stagger damage and air combos Garuda - Pile Drive and Judgement Bolt. I love PD, its fast, hits hard and has a good aoe range. Judgement Bolt is a,,fuck you" vs small enemies and hits for well over 20k damage vs staggered enemies. Titan - Raging Fist and Wykes. Raging fist for a stronger parry and stagger damage amd Wykes for the defence it provides. I replaced Titan with Odin and Wykes with Dancing Steel after i unlocked it for that juicy Zantetsuken damage.

I really like Impulse. It knocks big ones down staggered So fast, and interrupts them alot so you can get in and slap them with the sword to get them down faster. Once down I unload everything. Windup, Gigaflare, Judgement Bolt, Ignition, Flames of Rebirth. For groups I can round up a bunch and go flames of rebirth to kill most if not all of them. Small small packs I can use ignition and finish anything off with a dodge or phoenix shift and execution attack while they are still on the ground. But for large foes, I really find that Impulse is the best for bringing that stagger bar down.

Go limit break right before u stagger, upon stagger use lighting rod~ ignition ,Gouge Melee attack and right before the stagger is over use GigaFlare since it will freeze the stagger

Late but I have (/ means either I switch between the two skills) Phoenix: Wicked Wheel/Ignition and Flames of Rebirth Arm of Darkness/Deadly Embrace: Raging Fist/Heaven's Cloud/Lightning Rod and Gigaflare Cold Snap: Lightning Rod/Raging Fist and Diamond Dust Also if you use lightning rod then Diamond Dust the Gigaflare. You can pretty much kill any creature that can be staggered in one run it help me kill the S rank Dragon bounty in two staggers (I didn't have Odin's unlock at this time it would have been killed if I did) Wicked Wheel is great on enemy with a stagger gage as it usually takes off at lest 1/8 most of the time for big bosses 1/4 but for and for normal 1/2. It also works better ith phoenix shift than it does with Deadly Embrace . Raging fist is great at countering and I love to se it the most because it also can go to 15 seconds if it is a perfect counter and it gets rid of the stagger gage fast. Shiva's Cold Snap is the best Eikon with Odin's Arms to Darkness is a close second pairing them up together works wonders.

Lightning rod IMO is one of the, if not the best skill in the game. You can basically use it for CC or single target. Use with WotW and sometimes megaflare to burn through mobs and will for heavies. Charge megaflare and dodge heavy attacks while you burn its will. WotW will nullify damage if you miss a dodge, making it easy to charge megaflare. Unleash megaflare and burn remaining mob or will or staggered enemy. If enemy is staggered, gigaflare + lightning rod will get your multiplier up quickly (this also increases your damage output insanely high) and you can add more LR damage with wotw again. Finish off with judgment bolt. I don't have shiva yet but I've been doing over 100k stagger damage without limit break or tonics

im personally addicted to a mostly zantetsuken build. All but gungnir on my bars (too much animation lock for too little) with the added accessory pull of darkness to increase gain from dance of darkness. Rift slip helps this playstyle quite a lot because the slow down on proper use (canceling a skill animation) slows time enough to guarantee the dance goes off (because it does have a slow start up animation and can be interrupted) then rift slip the end too to get a head start on your actual zantetsuken (love rift slip). lightning rod and impulse for stagger hits and judgment bolt (which is great damage but also insane almost guaranteed 1.5 in a stagger) round out my kit. Build doesn't stagger as often as im sure other builds do but it deals great damage even outside of stagger windows. mmmmm zantetsuken

Respectfully, I'll disagree, but only ever so slightly. Wykes is phenomenal, don't get me wrong, but cyclone + lightning rod + wicked wheel is a guaranteed stagger on most enemies through even NG+, if not guaranteed for a Deadly Embrace Pull-Down. The short cooldown of these 3 means you can almost instantly cycle through them, every few seconds *with proper badges*. They're my "Go-To's" for staggering, Rebirth>Gigaflare>Earthen Fury has been my optimal setup, mixing up limit break combos/magic bursts to ensure 150% stagger damage. I don't fully agree with the video, but if anyone else has found another fancy/optimal setup, please feel free to reply to me! I would love to try other people's setups at this point!

I like to get them almost staggered then pop a strength tonic. Open with lvl 4 megaflare followed by Aerial Blast pushing into stagger. Then pop limit break drop lightning rod (with 18% damage increse trinket) immediately into Gigaflare. Followed up by flames of rebirth and judgment bolt. And just before the stagger ends I can drop in a lvl 5 Zantetsuken. I also use the 10% damage increase Genji gloves and 10% damage increase The Favor of Light. Testing on Arete stone I get around 750,000 damage on one stagger. But it averages around 400,000 in practical battles

Going to switch out heavens cloud for lighting rod tonight since it can get lvl5 zen and benefit my other abilities... still considering swapping something out for wilks, either judgement bolt or pheonix ulti. But i doubt it'll do more damage than either of them. Will test tonight:)

Wykes is fcking BUSTED. blocks hits, does amazing stagger damage while melee range and the damage aint bad either. and then there is impulse..... god people sleep on this skill. it auto targets and hits enemies A LOT for it's duration, and if you trigger them again when they go orange they esplode dealing a TON of stun (and outright kills a lot of mobs) whats even better is it's cooldown is really short, as by the time they expire naturally, you're already halfway to the next cast. it's also great for when the bosses start the "i'mma move around A LOT and fire shit at you" phases as the passive damage impulse deals is awesome. combined with Wykes and beserker ring, you got a fantastic stagger combo right there. my set up is: Pheonix: Impulse/Wykes for general combat and stagger gain, combined with beserker ring you have fantastic damage output and stagger gain even in mob fights, let alone when impulse is focused on one target. Bahamut: judgement bolt and giga flare. once staggered change to this to use JB to get that multiplier to 1.50 instantly, then into giga flare for DAMAGE. if lucky impulse is still going so you can also trigger that during the gigaflare. in addition, when the bosses do there large combo's i switch to mega flare charge up and can VERY quickly get to max level and launch those badass lasers too. bonus cool points if the mega flare laser rain is still going when gigaflare starts up. Odin: dancing steel and heaven's cloud. this is the combo ender. use Zan which deals ridiculous damage, then use DS and HC to get back to 5 ready for next stagger. this is also my mob clearing kit, as a level 5 Zan murders basically everything that doesnt have a stagger bar. and usualy nukes 75% of their health if they do, ready for free charge up with the abilities. the boss should be coming out of stagger now, but by this point wykes and impulse abilities are back up and ready, so cast wykes then impulse to start fighting again. ofcourse this also relies on the beserker ring, which is hands down the best accessory in the damn game, for the time in between bursts but also have limit break if for some reason the boss gets stunned while say judgement bolt is still on cooldown. side note, does anyone else basically NEVER use limit break? like ever other than filler combo's after getting the third Eikon? i just find it wastes time more than it helps. maybe cause i dont find the 10% damage bonus all that useful.... the combo in it is nice though hence why i like the beserker ring so much.

Limit Break also boosts all your abilities damage, so i use it whenever i staggered the enemy and start unloading all my moves.

Nastiest combo I have which absolutely eats hp and stagger bars. Will o wyke into impulse into limit break, all upgraded gigaflare up close if no break. When staggered, ryme into wind up into thunderstorm into gigaflare. Ryme should last long enough through both the break and all the moves.

Lightning Rod always seemed like a waste to me until now. It’s ingenious using that with Gigaflare and I’m immediately gonna find some space in my loadout for it. That’s too insane of a combo to not use.

I’m not getting “combos”. Like what exactly makes a “combo”? Is it literally just successive hits? Like after 3 hits it becomes “a combo”? I’m asking for the rings that boost “combo” damage… if I were to use “gigaflare” with a ring on that boosts combo damage, am I effectively boosting my gigaflare???

I love final fantasy games, last one I was really into was 12 though, it's hard for me to deal with all these combo attacks...still love the game it's beautiful and my first game on PS5. I'm pretty old guess turned based is easier.

Make one similar video about maximum style. Damage is literally not a problem since the difficulty is so trivial. Give us some build ideas that looks cool 😭 Mine is shiva aspect + Odin, shiva dodge + heaven + rift + gunir/dancing Steele + Odin limit cut. You can do this safely in neutral game and the opponent couldn’t even get its turn back until everything is finished.
