What I love about Odin/Barnabas is that he is a mix of dark knight and samurai, keep switching between fast draw slashes and then haymaker (throwing all his body weight) two handed slashed. Like that great divide move looks HEAVY as fuck

The game does some things really well (overall story, characters, spectacles especially on boss fights, music, etc), but there are absolutely other things it can be fairly criticized for. Its lack of small enemies and elites variety and the poor story pacing due the mmo structure and a non-negligible amount of fillers that dont add anything to the main storyline that should've been sidequests (while there are some sidequests that should've been part of the main story quests because it adds so much to the main cast) Also there should 100% be a harder difficulty accessible from the start, as action focused and even FF mode is way too easy and forgiving (mainly because you have access to insanely broken abilities by the end of the game that carries over to FF mode). A 40+ hours long game with very heavy focus on its story and cinematics is not the best type of game to lock harder difficulties behind first-time completion for those who want it. Also ultimaniac scoring is broken in a bad way as it incentivizes stalling instead of quick clears or stylish gameplay.

+ Battle system, boss battles, music, graphics, story, main characters, world building - Side quest gameplay, loot system, crafting and equipment system, pacing in between big moments There are definitely some parts of the game that clearly feel like they overlooked and just added in last minute just because it's an RPG

Depends on what you want from the game. Personally, I wanted solid graphic, good story, good fights and a good main story. I got what i wanted, so obviously my game score is gonna be super high for FF16. Some people wanted good gearing system, extreme difficulty, less cutscenes and more doing stuff. They were disappointed. No game is perfect. It just comes down to what you want from the game, and if what you got is what you wanted.

i dont think so. If a cutscene is about to happen, no matter how much damage you deal, the damage will not register. I am assuming the same on the sea fight

Am I the only one who noticed how frigging tall barnabas was in this fight, clive looks atleast 6 feet tall and barnabas towers over him in this fight. Just watch the scene where clive says "we are not as weak as your god believes" and stabs barnabas, in that scene barnabas looks atleast 7" foot tall.
