How can a fully primed Eikon Shiva lost so easily to a not yet primed Odin still in human form?!? Not even semi-primed...

Jill was used for war for 13 years. As dominants prime and semiprime they lose the aether in their bodies and their health begins to fail just like bearers, albeit at significantly slower rate. Cid is prime example but Jill is clearly struggling in her twenties and she's half his age. That's why she gets her ass spanked everytime, even by the liquid flame which is a construct. Her aether is low so her spells and such are too weak to be anything but backup. The fact she straight up primed and summoned that many ice spears is a testament to how much Clive meant to her and I believe she was robbed of a damn good fight sequence there. But yeah, that's why she's so weak. Now a freshly awakened 13 year old Jill and Shiva. Now THAT would be something. Probably able to beat Garuda and keep up with Clives newly awakened Ifrit for a good while.

@@DarthPingu07 Ok, i understand Jill's history. But to be fair, even Clive when semi-primed to half Ifrit also gets owned by non primed Barnabas still in human form. Odin's Zantetsuken is just too powerful. I am just very disappointed at the injustice n back seat that Square has relegated Shiva to in FF16, especially after her really cool n iconic summon scenes in FF15, and how she freezes Ardyn n decimates Ifrit. Shiva slays in FF15. Now in FF16, she either gets slayed or play a supporting role. It's a joke that her Diamond Dust become just a support spell to help Clive in the Liquid Flame battle.

@@raetan10 no i agree with you there. I'd have liked to see Ifrit and Shiva fight together too. Maybe hunts at the end game that need eikons to beat them? Or just more story that could include it. I hate that they cut her fight with Barnabas though. That said, Barnabas is OP due to his sword. He only beat Clive because Clive was exhausted after through half of Kanver and his lord commander. The thing is, we don't know how that battle ended with Shiva. Maybe had to semiprime? We don't know.

Barnabas is crazy strong. He holds back for the majority of the game, also my headcannon is that the sword is his semi-prime. Considering weapons and the zantetsuken is odins whole gimmick

jill has being transforming into shiva a lot and that weakens her, also, barnabas is a fucking monster, not even fully primed he can take on ifrit and shiva, not to mention how he quickly can shift between his eikon, prime and human form without as much as breaking a sweat unlike all other dominants who get tired or take a long time to shift

I think the story was pretty good. Dude is supposed to be a parallel to Clive, essentially. Both slaves to fate, yet one decided to carve his own path and the other falling subservient to it. Both men of loss, yet both take different paths from it.

The problem is when people believe our ideals, terminology, etc are the center of the universe so they should automatically carry over to a completely different planet/universe in a story. An I have a hard time understanding why people fail to grasp this when it comes to stories that aren’t based on earth or even our universe.

The term cancer dates back to Ancient Greece to describe tumors/crabs. I don't see how it wouldn't fit in a medieval fantasy setting which generally takes place after the Greeks.
