for as much of a legend that FF7 apparently is, it's never really been able to hold this one's attention of yet. It's tried playing a couple times, but has never gotten past midgar(technically it got out of midgar once, but it put the game down for the day and never picked it up again). Ironcially, this has led to this one buying the game twice, once on PSP and once on PS4. Maybe some day, perhaps after it tires of PSO2(or gets something else to play it on, or someone buys it the switch version of 7), this one'll try again EDIT: speaking of Phantasy Star, it would be great to see you cover any of the games in the frachise. There must be a fair bit of note between the original quadrilogy and the Online and onward style of games

14:17 That kind of thing really pisses me off when people literally don't understand what the first amendment is before they start whining about it. It doesn't mean that you should be allowed to say whatever you want or shoot your mouth off without being criticized for it or facing consequences like firing from a job or expulsion from a school or public building by it's management, and it doesn't offer ANY explicit protections against art produced and owned by a corporate entity who has 100% every right and final say on how they get to release or put self-imposed limitations or alter their OWN content... (also this video is inaccurate about Squaresoft being in any position to forbid censorship of their game. Sony, as the publisher of the game had SOLE decision making rights on whether or not it would be cut, and Square would have had only two choices at that point.... either accept the terms, or back out of and leave the project. And seeing as that would have been career-ending if Square left this game they just spent that much to produce, they wouldn't have, either. It was 100% Sony's decision, and thus them changing their mind was 100% Sony's decision as well.) (Also Square as a Japanese company HAS no First Amendment, so I don't even know why this is being brought up in the first place.) But people in this country, especially today need to start understanding what the First Amendment is. First Amendment rights just means that you cannot be unjustly jailed or be subjected to specific legal penalties for expressing non-harmful statements as an individual in a public setting. Free Speech applies to someone being allowed the right to a peaceful, non-threatening protest or to be a conscientious objector to things like military decrees in a public setting. It DOESN'T cover things like causing harmful lies that interfere with other legal human rights that take precedence, spreading harmful misinformation, slander or libel, and it absolutely does not have any jurisdiction over corporately owned art. The Honeybee Inn and it's place in a video game doesn't even BEGIN to factor into any discussion of what "Free Speech" is because Sony (and not Square as they gave up publishing rights in America anyway) had absolutely every right to either leave it in, or remove it as per THEIR decision on how THEY wish to release their OWN property. The fact that so many ignorant, whiny entitled fanboys thought the Honeybee Inn was some kind of "first amendment" issue is the kind of stupidity and ignorance one should expect from a first grader, not anyone older than 13 with any kind of understanding of reality.

@Fauntleroy.3 ай бұрын
This has nothing to do with busybodies butting into game development. Square decided the Honeybee was just a step too far all on their own and then they had to negotiate a final state with Sony. Compare this game to FF6 and everything that came before it. Square was open to expanding what content they'd have in their games, but they wanted to go 0 to 60, not 0 to 100. It seems silly now, but it wasn't then. Move too fast and some customers might say "This is just too different from the previous games, I don't like it." I don't blame them for being cautious.

90s were crazy with this stuff. Since games were seen as nothing more than toys by most adults then, they thought it had to be watered down for kids even if the game wasn't being made for them (even when the ESRB was made as a result of Mortal Kombat and some other games) So thus anything too violent, sexual, or religious was censored. Thankfully it was a changing time since hte ESRB had JUST came in and Sony probably agreed to slap a T rating and call it a day. But as for toning it down internally, Square staff probably themselves just didn't want the game to get toooo sleazy, which that in itself makes sense since that's creatives deciding it and not executives.
