I still remember never making it out of the Otherworld version of the school since I was too scared to venture far beyond the initial starting area due to the darkness, the enemies, and most importantly that damned piano being pounded on nonstop. Truly a masterpiece of psychological horror. 😂

This was back before “theme park dungeons” were decided on to be the go-to dungeon concept in OoT, a decision that would affect all Zelda dungeons going forward. It’s interesting to see, this is another issue I had with OoT back in the day that I didn’t know how to articulate: there are no dungeon-dungeons. Every dungeon has to be heavily themed.

That indent in the ground looks more like a spot you’d push a block into. Probably to unlock a puzzle that may have been planned for this room. Then maybe the treasure chest would appear on the balcony.

I was legitimately annoyed that we didn’t get a fully exploitable forest in OoT when it came out. In hindsight it’s weird that it bothered me so much, but I guess it was pretty much because a forest hadn’t been done in 3D yet like that and I just really wanted to experience that.

Anyone watch the Netflix Castlevania? And notice they put the Alucard Sword special attack in the show? The "down, down-forward, forward, square/circle" move. He teleports behind the enemy and slashes, then teleports back with a red aura/outline. The even did the red outline in the show.

Its actually incredibly simple. By having the kanto rival have two different names in EN and JP, it gets way too confusing calling her Green when thats the kanto rival’s jp name. The choice back in the 90s to change the rival’s name per language really fucked things up. So poor Leaf is stuck with a neverending name mishap.

You forgot to mention Piccolo would later become Tooty, but got changed to his sister instead of girlfriend, and that her theme was kept, but rerecorded.

Perfect way to close this loop: Green is Leaf's younger sister. That's why they look similar, and have similar clothes. Put them in the next game/remake featuring Kanto and call it a day.

Grant didn’t join the project till after it had moved to the N64. David Wise wrote multiple tracks for the game on SNES. “Rewritten tracks” were for Banjo, not another iteration of Dream. Timeline of Twelve Tales also doesn’t line up with previous statements by devs. They were already in production of Banjo-Kazoo when they saw TTC64, which lead to the evolution of their platformer; not Mario 64. Banjo’s name comes from Dream as a side Character. Devs have said there were zero plans to ever use the N64DD for release (though it was used for development stuff as seen recently with the prototype maps) Gregg Mayles has said Tootie was always Banjos sister and the love interest was misinformation from Nintendo Power There’s some other stuff but these are the ones I remember

@@joyconboyz1409 >Grant didn’t join the project till after it had moved to the N64. David Wise wrote multiple tracks for the game on SNES. “Rewritten tracks” were for Banjo, not another iteration of Dream. Got a source on that? as far as we know, he was working on it from the get go as he was simultanously working on Goldeneye in mid-late 1995 while this was also going on the SNES. As seen on his very own website: web.archive.org/web/20110223211358/www.grantkirkhope.com/goldeneye.html David Wise had some early hand in it as seen with the main theme, but otherwise that is his only track. >Timeline of Twelve Tales also doesn’t line up with previous statements by devs. They were already in production of Banjo-Kazoo when they saw TTC64, which lead to the evolution of their platformer; not Mario 64. Once again, refer to Grant Kirkhopes website: web.archive.org/web/20110221131032/www.grantkirkhope.com/dream.html He literally said Dream, which led it become Kazoo.. Mario 64 just caused it to go to become a full 3D platformer called Banjo Kazoo. >Banjo’s name comes from Dream as a side Character. Banjo was NEVER a character in Dream when it still had Edson, let alone ever be a side character, within Rare's very own video they even state that Banjo cameabout AFTER they decided to retire Edson: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rWiVnJ1oZb6Bd5I >Devs have said there were zero plans to ever use the N64DD for release (though it was used for development stuff as seen recently with the prototype maps) Once again referring to Kirkhope's website where he said it started on the 64DD (which he call the "bulky drive" add on): web.archive.org/web/20110221131032/www.grantkirkhope.com/dream.html >Gregg Mayles has said Tootie was always Banjos sister and the love interest was misinformation from Nintendo Power I'll give you this one. Nintendo Power got me there. I'll clarify that in Part 2. But for everything else... seriously look at my sources before starting i'm wrong on these accounts. I put sources for that very reason.

Dream looked like a blend of Zelda and Monkey Island. If Dream was completed on time, it would’ve rival The legend of Zelda. According to Greg Mayles, the Rabbit look like a Guy in the suit.

Here’s a good solution Her name is Leaf Blue (Jp) Leaf Green (En) It actually works well as in many nature based words, such as trees and leaves Japanese use Ao (Blue) to describe those things despite them literally being green. A green traffic light is also called Blue in Japan, as is a green apple. So this full name would work culturally for the Japanese canon and work in English version too

The Japanese version is better imo. Mostly because the voice acting is so much better. I also much prefer the philosophical nature of the Japanese dialogue. In the confessional in the Chapel, the good priest will actually say a blessing over you. There is also slightly different item placement

I think it is used in the first level to make the ship rise through developer tricks. When you enter into the sunken ship you go through a transition screen which may wrap Mario inside the floating ship. Which the ship may move just above the water level and become solid so when the player completes the level the ship in the sky becomes the floating ship as it is now active due to the player completing the necessary steps, i.e. reach the star and rise the ship. A potential on explaining why. the sunken and sky ships are not necessary as the other levels already assume that is completed.

Something I noticed... Tallon Overworld is a dark rainy area that has a mini version of Flaagrah called a Bloodflower. The surface of Tallon IV could be where it naturally could of came from. What if Flaagrah was originally suppose to be the boss of Tallon IV? 0:53 Did not show a forest it showed a unique swamp. What if Tallon Overworld was going to have an extra section where it was dark and swampy and Samus has to clean the water that Flaagrah and the Bloodflowers were poisoning on the surface rather than in the Chozo Ruins?
